30 cal coyote hunting pcp

I have also been looking for a .30 for basically the same use. I had it narrowed down to the Uragan until the new Cricket Tactical came out. I spoke to Charlie at Georgia Airguns since he sells both. He told me the Cricket Tactical had more power and was right at 95 FPE. I just bought a Taipan Veteran from Charlie this month and can say this was the most pleasant purchasing experience I have had out of 5 total vendors sponsors on this site. My next purchase will be from Charlie unless he just can’t get what I need. There is a review on the Airgun Channel on the Cricket Tactical that is impressive, check it out if you haven’t. With that said, I think either one would be an excellent choice. I’m not a fan of F/X so I won’t comment on the Impact.

The Uragan 30 won’t get you to 100 FPE unfortunately. Low 80s FPE with some comfort after Huma reg and plenum upgrade, 89-90 if you really push her hard, but that spells reseal more often and harder to find harmony

To comfortably get that high of FPE I would think of going up to a .35 would be reasonable. Get the 100-115 FPE without maxing out the rifle. The rifle and you would be happier

Some have waited over a year to receiver their Evol orders. Very, very slow over at AAA.

Not anymore. AoA is now the exclusive dealer for AAA. They regularly have the Evols in stock. I just checked right now and AoA has both the Evol 30 and Evol Magnon 30 in stock. The only model that there's a waiting list for is their Slayer, which has to be ordered directly at AAA. I think the Slayer would be more of an appropriate airgun for coyotes. I know one of our members here, mtnGhost, has tuned his Evol 30 up to 100 fpe with 62gr VK slugs. The Evols are in a class of their own. Love mine.

Have to disagree here - my Uragan .30 was shooting 90fpe on JSB 50gr out of the box. I did install the Huma reg and am shooting NSA 49.5gr slugs at right around 85-86 fpe. Don't know how fast the 50gr pellets are with this tune, but would assume over 90 fpe. The Uragan is very shootable at this power level. Add a Hugget Magna and make it backyard friendly - I mean seriously 85fpe slugs and backyard friendly.

I like the feel of the Uragan .30 so much I just ordered a .22 Uragan Compact.

The M3 will EASILY make that 100 fpe mark, and so will a Maverick. 110 fpe is a "lower power" tune on my Maverick, haha. When I'm shooting it in .30 for hunting, I usually have it in the 125-130 fpe range for 61.5/65.5 grain slugs. I've done a little work on my Maverick though. The specs from FX list the Maverick at 116 fpe, and I think they list the M3 at 124 fpe. I'm not an FX fan boy, but I do think you get a lot more flexibility with the FX than you do the other options. I mean, I can swap from 125 fpe in .30 to 75-80 fpe in .22 in about 5 minutes easily. I don't even have to change any settings, just a quick re-zero and I'm on the .22.

I really do like the Uragans and would love to have a AAA someday too. I think any of the guns can do the job, but you'll have more headroom out of the box with the M3. Those superior heavy .30 liners are crazy accurate with the NSA slugs too. That's just what I know from my own experience, and I know the other guns can make good power as well.

Hi Id like to say I have taken many Yotes here I live in a infested area due to all farms and my neighbors raise chickens and rabbits and goats and across street they raise chickens pigs and other things , I live with a small 1 ac pond here and I have a friend who raises quail here , so between ducks geese and wildlife here they all over place it is not uncommon to see 10 on each game camera when I view them .

OK back to topic I have take over 30 yotes with my pcp guns and all but 1 was recovered , I shoot them with my cast slugs and I have also got 2 with Nsa slugs here is guns I have used and my opnion ,

1 Ed gun R5 superr long 30 cal , shooting 52 gr cast slug 98 fpe 18 coyotes

2 EdgunR5M long 22 cal 36 gr MP slugs 69fpe 6 coyotes

3 taipan veteran 22 cal MP 36 gr slugs 68fpe 3 coyotes ,

4evol 30 cal NSA 61.5 gr 100 fpe 2 coyotes

Now I am comfortable hooting them with these guns , I know how they shoot the power and exactly where my slug will hit , I shoot 22 cal 50 yards or under and only heart shots , I have gotten 2 pass threw and rest dumped in animal or was in skin on exit 10

The 30 cal I would shoot out to 100 yards only while my guns shoot very accurate 2x distance , I wont do it , If I have to shoo tfurther then I use powder burners k out a 22 -250 270 or my 6..5 creedmoor

My furthest to date with edgun 30 was 102 yds , and with my 6.5 creedmoor was 560 yards with a 140 gr eld I reloaded 2750fps 2400fpe and took yote 560 yds in comparison hold is 2.9 mils and fpe is 1300 fpe at this range ,

Id like to add 1 thing I have some yotes run further with say a 22.250 screaming @ 3600fps snd they can run further then hit with say My edgun R5m . dont ask me why but I saw this a few times ,

OK so for yotes I like first R5 super long with slugs and sold slugs and huma reg to increase power , The evol stock is a good choice also in 30 cal , in 22 again Id have to say edgun r5m long with slug barrel and huma reg ,

I say this not for energy but they just built like a tank , simple to fix accurate , and never fail ,

the evol is good I would just reseal it new so it doesnt have issues we all had with leaks ,

The taipan is a great platform if you want to mod it Like I did with slug barrel and valving great trigger just a pleasant gun to shoot and lazer .

I never tried the uragon so cant comment on this , but there is also true 308 cals if you intent to go beyond 100 yds like slayer / texan .ect

With the Uragan 30 you have to push a 50gr pellet 950 FPS to get 100 FPE. That’s really pushing a stock uragan with a Huma reg upgrade hard. I am sure we can agree on that at least lol. I know with slugs you may not get more speed or energy but get more of that energy to stay at distance which is important. My point of replying however was simply to show that if a pester wants 100 FPE it’s better to go with a caliber where living in that 100 FPE range is easier on the gun for longevity than maxing it out every shot.
