Daystate  Blackwolf owners discussion

MY very first aimed shots done at 40 meters. I had a small gap today to try out the Daystate BW. This gave me a little indication what I in future can expect for the gun. I had no formel papertarget so a napkin was used. I shot some 54 shots starting with 250bar fill. The reg is set at 170bar and the bottlefill is just slight under 200bar. I must say I am very impressed. The gun has very little mechanical noise. Much less than my Daystate Revere. Since the loooong barrel it does take slight longer followthrough. The trigger I will set a bit lighter next time. Overall the gun is a big gun and to truly get the full potential it must have a steady table with a solid prob to support. I used soft pillows. Its a longrange airgun and not woodswalkers gun but I knew that before ordering. The Revere is much better as a stalker. I had the powerwheel on "10" and blue spring. It will take some time to really finetune this instrument to its full potential. Already now it seems to prefer the 20grainers from H&N and ZAN but let see. That could change.

20grain ZANs. 5 shots

24 grain ZANs didn`r do all that well(yet).

20grain H&Ns 5 shots did ok. More to work with. They have potential.

The 16grain went super sonic. Taken into consideration no bad but not good either. One flyer to the right.

new guy to airguns

Most if not all of us are not. The only exception might be somebody only interested in hunting. But I still see investing less than $100 in a hand pump as a good idea because compressors fail. If the choice is no shooting or hand pumping I think pretty much all of us will hand pump. Until the new compressor arrives or we get the old one fixed.
Or just never want to hand pump, EVER, and keep a 2nd compressor as a backup.

I’ve got a funny feeling he’s not a
hand pump guy.

Say hello. What state or country are you from?

Coming up on 8 years on AGN in October. I reside in Southern California but live in the state of general confusion  🤪. Country? Not sure, I hardly recognize it anymore  but my community is Airgun Nation, the place where mostly kind people share their knowledge & desire to help fellow enthusiasts freely. A wonderful daily break from reality.

What pistol did you shoot today

Back outside with my ear-splitting Schimel … mein LugerPistol 😁. Using 33gr pellets for close range tin can demolition, and regular 14gr for everything else.

Schimels don’t have conventional poppet valves and springs. Instead, the gas is manually transferred. A lever is pulled back and forward to transfer a bit of Co2 into the breach. When the trigger is pulled, this gas is fed to the barrel which expels the pellet. So it’s a bit more fiddly to shoot. But I suspect that it transferrs a lot more gas than is needed and hence the loud “bang”.

Call me weird, but I've long admired the 35's styling, in fact it was my instant favorite when perusing my first Beeman catalog back in the day.

It's been made in several different stock styles over the years, these old Export and Luxus ones are my favorites. Besides nice lines, the balance and carefully rounded contours are ergonomically excellent, and nicely mask the bulk of this heavy rifle.

Here’s some shot records from last night. About 550 total shots through gun. 10 different pellets.
Regulator doesn’t seem to do anything, just slowly goes from high to low.

You need to make a spreadsheet my friend. Then you can graph it all out together. My setup is pretty jankey. Cheap Chinese Chrono that I read the numbers from of into my phone as the FPS shows up. I then read the them off the phone and into Google docs and the spreadsheet I made auto populates running a average of the last five shots and the standard deviation against the string comprising the shots from that fill of the string and I add in the Hammer spring settings so I can see how that evolves.

That's the last 450 shots graphed out all using voice recognition because lazy...

I like unscoped and stock irons as well.

Maybe hold back the lock so the chisel does not start cutting in to the recever face when you close it .

Ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure . 😉
Lovely rifles, y'all!

I haven't tried this, but I've wondered if rounding off the "chisel" point just a teeny bit and polishing it - together with keeping this spot properly lubed of course - would reduce the receiver face wear over time?

Say hello. What state or country are you from?

Hello everyone, I'm sure no one has heard of the Canary Islands. I'm from Gran Canaria, and even fewer have been here. Here's a satellite photo.
Geographically, we're close to Africa, but we're not African. The islands belong to Spain due to colonization.

Sure I have. That's where there's no canaries.🤣😂

Arizona State PCP championship and AAFTA Grand Prix - August 15, 16, & 17, 2025

I’m considering going to this GP match. I’d like to know what the Troyer difficulty will be. An exact 36T for both rifle and pistol would make 100 GP points available to the winners of each class. Since I have a number of GP matches to choose from each year, I now tend favor those that are best for staying in the running for a GP championship points total.

Pistol course Troyer? And rifle course Troyer?

Tuning  Umarex M1A1 Thompson Repair

I do as well, it is more like the battle field WWII M1A1, dark non-reflective coating. I did leave just left a few flaws (scratches down to the wood) to make it look well used. The Umarex Legends M1A1 is still my favorite BB gun WWII replica. Thanks for the Like.

The stock that came with my M712 was a cheesy thing and I didn’t like it at all. Fortunately, Sarco has stocks for the real M712 and they clip on just as they should, and the finish is that same dull battlefield finish your M1A1 has. Good stuff!
I’m still mulling around the idea of getting an M1A1. That sure is a nice looking gun
