Anybody that has a skirtless piston, and the latch rod is rounded,
will the factory trigger still work?
will the factory trigger still work?
It’s not a catapult! Just a way to get an elevated target in the flatlands of Texas.love the ft-catapult-elevated target!
I’ve shot 5 in the past month….they just love my wife’s tomatoes…shoot them at night with an air pistol at about 12”… they usually fly off the trellis and into the dogs mouth. Quite the sound of the dogs jaws clacking together crunching the rat. JohnWhen I was in high school/college in the 1960s, every town in our county had a dump and at night hundreds of the 4 legged rats came out to play/eat.
Lots of fun shooting with a flash light.
Now I have not seen a 4 legged rat in over 50 years- no city dump allowed.
Modern progress??
It was nice while it lasted!
Thanks for sharing that info and man what a good looking lineup! Honestly I’ll probably keep it unmoderated, keep forgetting that our fence is a cinder block wall and with a smaller yard sounds bounces a lot, outside of the fence you don’t hear muchcongrats, glad you like it. I liked the .22 so much I got a .177 as well so I am a bit biased. The .177 is a bit louder and has a nicer wood grain on it. I still don't think either require a moderator but I did add them to make it more so. For comparison, below Pic with Taipan Vet 1 .25 long shows that all 3 are at roughly 37 1/4 long with mods on the ends. Vet feels 1/2 lb or more heavier mostly due to laminate stock.
Also, You can remove the barrel shroud and unscrew stripper and it is 1/2 x 20 theaded to add mod direct to barrel. unfortunately the barrel is shorter than the tube so you would need some sort of extension or possibly a tanto with cone would fit. I didn't try this so its a complete guess if any mod would work.

It shoots exceptional as anticipated. Much better than the operatorHow's it shooting , looks very nice .
Maybe they all became politiciansAs a teenager we used to go to the dumps to shoot rats, there were thousandsof them! Wasn't unusual for each of us to burn through a brick or two of .22 rimfires in a morning.
Then it suddenly dried up. Don't know where the rats went.
Cheers!
You know, now that you mention it, that kind of shooting does seem to be a little more 'satisfying' maybe? Challenging maybe? Maybe those of us who enjoy the lower powered rifles should be called....dopers?the hubens are cool but im beginning to think i enjoy shooting the lower powered notos more. i might be getting addicted to doping with lower powered rifles for sub 150 yards.
This has been debated over and over, but wanted to get your opinion on the powder coating. Benefit for air guns? I know folks talk about less lead dust, etc... but that makes zero difference to me. Great looking little pills there, by the way!View attachment 558212
About $2.00 worth of pure lead and powder coating..A few hundred slugs....Beat tariffs... lol
You wouldn’t happen to have a pdf of the manual for the Trail Charger?I bought an Omega trail charger last April. I am wondering what type of grease I can use in the grease pot? It supposedly came with some extra grease, but I cannot find it.
What would be a safe and effective lubricant?
I saw one video review that incidentally mentioned it was lithium grease, but that was in passing and I am not sure if it is accurate.
Other omega compressors take some sort of food grade high temperature grease.
Thanks for any experts who can help!
Ditto!disassembling bullpups is such a pain in the ass too. If you're cracking them open and disassembling, might as well change EVERYTHING. because nothing is worse than fully assembling, charging, and "hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" Rinse repeat.
ok then what? I'm assuming from what you said it will either show up with more charges, or ? or not available at this time?![]()

Looks like May 2nd, you should be okay.
Lots of good questions. Occasional use may help the moly. Moly is suspended in a petroleum based paste. The moly kinda stays but the paste thicken as it dries out. Exactly how long it takes I can't say. I guess it depends on how much was used and the environment around the gun. I really wouldn't worry about guns you did in moly. It'll last long enough. You'll get to check its condition when you eventually need to replace piston seal and or spring. Then you can evaluate it yourself.Ron, I'm curious, you state moly dries out too quickly. If a piston is lubricated properly, how long would you estimate the moly to preform the way it should? Does it matter if it just sits, or will it last longer if used periodically? I have many, as you know, that sit long spells between uses.
I had a friend fairly nearby that had a terrible infestation of ground squirrels,he was old and he didn't have time to mess around hunting or waiting.. so on his ranch I think 20 acres he had several live traps.. the wire cage type with a handle on top that he would go around 2 times daily checking.. I don't remember,he probably had 2-4 traps.. and every single day he had at least one in each trap.. almost year around.. then he would just take them.. out back and shoot with the pistol and put them right back out..had a regular spot out back where he could see from the house to dispose of them and coyotes and birds would literally keep it empty. As someone mentioned earlier, I'd try to lure them more towards the backyard to dispatch them if you can, much less risk of involving neighbors/their property with ricochet.
Trapping wise, I use a conibear set up tied to a string and attached to a garden pole with peanuts on the bait triggers, though with your wrist injury I wouldn't recommened it, could be bad if it slams on your fingers trying to set.
I also have a cage trap, not the squirrelnator, one of those smaller ones you can pick up by the handle and could hold at most 1-2 squirrels, and in my experience those work much better for tree squirrels than the big squirrelnator (I've seen squirrelnator better success at ground squirrels than trees). I prefer buying a large bag of peanuts like from Sams Club or some other store, usually cheap and they cant resist them. Take a small lid, like a peanut butter jar lid and put some peanuts in it and put in back of trap. I also put some peanuts in one of these https://a.co/d/d1AYYAi Just hang it inside just above the plate that closes the cage (sometimes squirrels are too light and dont trip the trap, but when they try grabbing this it makes them push more on the plate). And if you really wanna try to lure them in, scatter some peanuts around toward the trap and some aniseed oil.
Then you can also bait lure them to a safe spot to try and shoot them can be either front or backyard, just make sure you have a good backstop or wall, etc. Get a jar of peanut butter, fill with some peanuts or bird seed, and lay in front of the backstop. Whatever airgun you pick, just practice with it prior to make sure you have it sighted to hit whatever is near the bait. With this, if you dont mind olaying the waiting game, you can leave the bait out and let the squirrels go at it for a day free of charge, this makes them use to going to the spot. Then next time they come is when its time you get rid of them for good hopefully.
As for what airgun to use if you still need one, with your distance to the outside, a Hatsan Supercharger QE or Supertact QE (same gun, just has a stock) in .177 or .22 could work.I've taken several with the supercharger in .177. Might need some force to fully break the barrel and cock with your wrists but dont think its too bad. Theres also the Seneca Dragonfly mk2, always heard those are easy on the wrists when it comes to pumping it.
But if you dont mind spending more, you can get a nice cheap air compressor and have access to a wide variety of PCPs that to deal with all the squirrels and without making your wrists hurt. Tons of good budget ones like the PP750, Notos, Diana Stormrider, etc. I wont recommend any of the higher end ones as those you really wanna be hooked into airguns to get into![]()
Cool. Thanx. Also look on their website for their higher capacity mags. I haven't used them, but I think most people like them.![]()
