Unreliable airguns

I don't own any unreliable air guns; I have Airforce .308 Texan and AEA 357 Challenger big bore that I can pick up and use at any time and i have had the 357 4 years.

You post your group, so I'll post my dead iguanas! This one likes to do eye shotsMaybe it's the same like with U2 HP version- I could easily get the same power with regular U2, just with regulator/HS tuning.
Well… I hope I'll be able to post some nice groups from my new toy
Stay sharp,
S.
No sir, just the L but I love it nonetheless and it has not been fed any pellets. So there's no need for the HP imho. Atleast not for the .177, not for the .22 it would be good, although even the katran LB .22 would shoot the snot out of slugs then too lol.Hey @JaceSpace1369 , it seems we have similar taste for airguns
So... did you get Krait L HP? I'm waiting one in .22 and have big expectations tbh
I suspect mfgr debris / milling issue? Maybe a QA issue early on?Update..
I'm 3 or 4 months shy of 3 years with the Ghost.
It's primary role now is 34fpe with the .20/18.9grain NSA slug for prairie dogs and Ultimate Field Target, and general long range precision. I also dial the power down via the wheel and shoot the .20/15.89grain JSB pellets at 29fpe in areas with more down-range fpe concern.
As far as small bore airguns and long range precision go, the Ghost with the .20/18.9grain NSAs is the measuring stick for me. And nothing else that has come through my hands can do what it's capable of.
I haven't counted empties in a bit, but I'd estimate I'm getting close to 20,000 total shots fired out of the Ghost.
As for the negative....
A few months ago I had another valve fail. I'm not sure if that's 4 or 5 total, I've lost count. This one I was able to spin the poppet against the valve seat and make it hold air, but it only lasted for another few weeks and then failed again, irreparably. So, new valve from AOA and the Ghost is back in business. The failure point is that interface between the valve stem and the seat of the valve, as it has been for the previous valve failures.
I'm not sure what's causing the failed valves. I am told that this isn't a common occurrence. First thought is dirty air may be introducing particles....but the same air source is filling 6-7 other PCPs, none of which have had any sort of recurrent leak issues. At 35fpe, I'm also not running a high reg pressure, nor smacking the hell out of the valve. I dunno, but them's the facts.
Despite the frustrating recurrent valve failures, I'm still am impressed with the Ghost, and still plan on using the snot out of it for prairie dogs here in a few months, and for the odd Ultimate Field Target match, when the opportunity arises.
I used a fill station and double male Foster to fill my SCBA tank, as you described. FWIWWith any used firemans tank that comes with a standard CGA347 valve, you will need something known as a "fill station" to use it connect to your airgun and compressor. There are many cheap ones on AliExpress or amazon, and some better stuff for more money from other vendors. Just as an example, something like this basic China unit : https://www.amazon.com/TUXING-Paintball-Filling-Charging-Inflation/dp/B0B2RG91LY/
or this more premium unit: https://airtanksplus.com/product/stikman-scba-pcp-fill-system/ (more expensive, but a great product with great reviews)
Or alternately, you could replace the whole valve with an all in one solution, but be sure that it fits the thread size of the tank you bought.
I did not see the ad. I have a couple of different ones that didn't work for my Paintball application. Happy to make you a deal on those. PM me.A few weeks back (if I remember correctly) I saw an ad on classifieds for a Caldwell Dead Shot shooting pod. Can't find it using the search bar, spent 40 minutes scrolling through classifieds, thought I'd reach out to the general population. If anyone sees the ad PLEASE let me know. If the person who ran it sees this PLEASE PM me!
Thanks
Gerry
I bought a Tuxing (GX CS1 clone) that had the gear reduction output shaft snapped off, which sounds like a similar failure. I wish that I had had the energy to pull my CS3 down to compare the motors and gearboxes directly. There's generally a couple factories making parts of varying quality and final assembly trim Ime, if not 1 factory making "industrial. Lego components" . The paint schemes tell a lot of the story. I was looking at an "alpha carette" compressor from a vendor here and noticed the paint scheme. Found it was made by tuxing and started to explore their site and ended up with a 4 cylinder monster for the same price Instead. Now I can fill scbas willy nilly in a few minutes.
As for budget orange Shoebox clones, my buddies twisted off the motor shaft, mine arc flashed in the power supply yesterday... A mosfet failed short. Other than that they've been a value for the price overall. Mine still works.
I ended up mounting this Gen3 2.5-15x50 on my EFT pistol as 16x is allowed and adjusting the turrets is allowed also. Good choice for my EFT pistol but not for an HFT pistol because it is difficult to range well/easily with this scope.Congrats Cavedweller.
Just a heads up.
When I got back from shooting yesterday I was setting my elevation turret back to zero and noticed it had some wiggle and lash which concerned me. What had happened is I had snugged it down after sighting in but it needed to be tighter so once I took care of that it was back to the awesome feel these have.
Yeah it's funny, those scope caps are so nice it makes this G3 scope seem all that much better. I bought some expensive after market scope caps for my S&B, which I think I paid $125 for years ago, and I prefer these Athlon caps to them.
Do you think it was due to heat? IIRC, MOSFETs have a very low forward bias votage and therefore produce low heat, but heat is still an issue. As you will be aware, those power converters are quite economical online.I just blew the mosfets out of the power supply on mine yesterday, but it snot a vevor. Doing the no no and topping up a 78 cf scba. That was my backup compressor. It still works on 12v tho.
The receivers are stitched together, the rear (longer) part is "stitched" (perhaps JB welded and then pressed in) to the front part, which connects the barrel and the cocking lever to the whole rig. That's the idea.I guess we are supposed to assume that all springers or at least all Cometas will burst? Just wondering as I haven't heard of others doing said self-disassembly. I am willing to keep an open mind. Any one else have this problem I would like to see more photos of new and exploded gun? Be Well Brothers, B.
Yes indeedI picked up this Taipan Veteran long in .25 on the classifieds here about a year ago. It has an extended plenum, external dial power adjuster, and a Donny FL Koi. I found an Element Titan 5-25x56 on the classifieds a few months later and mounted it up.

I finally am getting it ready to put lead on target. Today, I ran a mag of JSB 34 grainers over the chrono to confirm speed so I can get an idea of a zero and trajectory in chair gun.
10 shots 33.95 JSB. Fps:
918
919
920
916
913
919
917
909
921
915
Averaging about 917fps for around 64fpe.
In spite of all this power, it is SO quiet. All I hear is the hammer spring.
Can’t help but be impressed by the Vet.
