New Apolo .22 18gr Slugs

Guantlet SL .22

Today I picked up a wavy spring washer at my local Hardware store for .40 cents measured it at .042 thousands with my micrometer , and dropped that in my regulator, and used the flat .020 thousand's shim with it , , , , and averaged 960 fps with the JSB 25.4's for 52 foot pounds of energy.
It was accurate as well. I tried to post the shot groups , but only here on airgun Nation when I press attach files it goes to my drive instead of the file manager where the photos are. If anyone can help me with this it would greatly appreciated for this techanlly challenged old guy.lol.
Does it not give you the option to pick between gallery, drive or files?

Barra  Barra 250z. Tunes

HEY GUYS ANY GOOD TUNES OUT THERE FOR 14.3 -16 GRAIN PELLETS? GOING FOR AROUND 880-890 FPS. LIKE MAX SHOT COUNT. THANKS GUYS.
Factory settings should be close… if not go down to 1700-1800psi.. you need to def as to do it. So maybe best to start around 1500 psi and check.once you hit the velocity you want start shooting groups give the hammer spring a little bump until the groups are tiny. I’ve never tried for a max shot count but with the reg around 2300 I was shooing 28.24gr pellets at like 920. The sound of they made when hitting a dove was spectacular.

Best looking gun !

In my opinion and it is just mine, none of these super modern pcp types, big tanks, bullpups, bright laminated stocks ect, ect are good looking, in fact I find them rather ugly, I can see where some are very functional like that aluminum stocked Anschutz. I like a traditional styled stock with good wood. Call me a traditionalist, to the extreme.
But , but we love our airguns , and beauty is in the eye of the , or was that lead dust.lol.

Looking down that brand new barrel

Is there any chance that the file size of the photo is too large? Someone will know.

It would be interesting to see. My bore scopes aren't small enough for a .22 air gun bore, and I keep shuddering when I see the cost of one that is.

On the other hand, my granddaughter is a dental assistant...hmm, I wonder if they lend out their stuff? :ROFLMAO:
I swear if it didn't work so well I was thinking of putting a new barrel in there like a real one that's truly 281/4 , or longer , but it's just not worth it , so for now I'll use this 231/2" barrel it came with can't believe Umarex was able to get away with advertising a 281/4 , but that's with the shroud included as part of the barrel.

When I press attach files it goes to drive instead of the files where my photos are , only here on AGN though , and I have tried to solve the problem it did not used to do that I even got my AI to help with lots of work did not help. , and I don't have a camera bore scope either. Dang it I love to put up a pic of this.

Best looking gun !

I never shot it except to test...However I've never saw, or shot a .20 cal that didn't like JSB 13.73s or H&N 11.42's....
Ok. Thanks for taking time to reply as you never know when I will come across a .20 cal I like ,vand wanted to know what to use as the only .20 cal I had " Gone Now " was my 50 year old Sheridan , and it liked the original Sheridan pellets , and I never knew what grain they were. Which brings up a new question do they make .20 cal slugs. I only shoot paper , but found the 28 grain slugs " Apolo HP " to be the absolutely most accurate ammo I ever shot from my Zelos. OV.

MAC1 USFT Analysis/Overview

How is the new buttpad configuration working out?

The "thing" I've been playing around with a little is giving me some issues with the bolt loosening up.

Initially took a bit of fiddling to make it work but haven't changed it since before the Founders Cup back in January and don't plan on it now.

As-is, I'm under the 1" required for the butt pad angle, per the photo explanation in the 2025 AAFTA Handbook. I'm legal and liking how it feels so probably leaving it as shown in the photo above.

Looking down that brand new barrel

I waited too long as I had never worried about a barrel in the airgun Industry , or PB , But from now on as I buy anything new before I shoot the first time I will clean it , and look down the barrel as this Guantlet is only 31 days old , and I was looking down the barrel to see how shinny it was when my eyes seen a massive manufacturer defect where the it looked like the rifling twisted the wrong way for a inch , or so about 6" down from the muzzle. I have never seen anything like this at least it shoots dime size groups , and same hole groups when I try hard , and breath right. Never again will this happen to me I will Look down that new barrel first.

What did you do airgun related today.

Today I am deep diving into a new scope. 750 is the budget . I am actually looking at 5-6 but you know.

I need a new scope for Hunter Piston to top my TX 200. I have an Aztec Emerald 5.5-25X56 that is easily the best scope I have ever had. It is is on my HFT-500. It does not have a light up reticle and I have a few targets that are in the dark. I also need a new removable side wheel.
I’m looking at this Hawke Sidewinder 30 FFP 6-24x56, Illuminated MOA Reticle, 30mm Tube.
Good choice… John
