Quick question yes or no

Not necessarily. SPA sold several boatloads of lottery guns for years and guys just kept buying them. If I had a Panda, I’d tell the OP if it’s worth the money. Pretty simple question. It’s so easy that I can tell most newbies that no airgun is worth the money. But we just exchange paper for what strikes our fancy. I think the better question is do you regret a purchase. If we overpay for something and it makes us happy, then we don’t think about the hole in our credit card.
Can't count how many times i said Money is only something you trade for something you want! Doesn't matter what that something is or how much it cost to produce, Money only buys happiness . Or short version " money only buy's happiness ".

Filling Benjamin Marauder w/ compressed air

keeping it to a quiver of one = famous last words

TBH I'm probably going to pivot to more RF shooting this year myself. Less gear means fewer headaches.

We'll see. I've been deep into firearms for many years. I've long thought about an air rifle and just recently dipped my toes into it. I don't know if it will catch on for me, given my enthusiasm for firearms.

I enjoy pistols recreationally, but also stay on top of training and practice for defensive purposes. I also like precision long-range rifle shooting. Air rifles are fairly limited on distance. But so far it is fun.

Brocock/BRK  Is Brocock Ghost Carbine a good choice for HFT competition?

I believe that the 2024 Hunter class grand Prix series champion used a Ghost on her campaign. Although I'm not sure if she runs a carbine length or full-length barrel.

@5Power

(I personally have found that the Ghost is one of my favorites for offhand shots).

Tuning  Umarex M1A1 Thompson Repair

interesting... I would like to reduce the recoil of the M1A1 Thompson to a slower rate along the lines of 600 - 800 a min. I am NOT a gunsmith but I can do machinal things. But less powerful spring or a recoil buffer (there is a place for one in the upper of the gun) but I haven't gotten to it. That is all I can think at the moment. I guess the RPM of the auto fire is around 1098min and that is fast.
A heavier bolt might be all you need. The bolt is most likely alloy and possibly hollow. If so, you can open it up and fill it with lead (pellets or BBs, that’s what I did with the MP40)

What springer did you shoot today?

Finally stopped raining long enough for Kimmie Two Guns and I to shoot a little. Her HW50S .22, my long barrel 97K .177 and Diana 56TH .177 . Metal targets and chalk targets at 20 and 25 yd. Love the chalk, the targets just get smaller and smaller. I actually shoot a hair better with the 97 than the 56TH because the 97’s trigger is better. Little bit of creep in the T06 2nd stage. Which is okay, manageable, feels like a PCP trigger. But. Every 5 or 6 shots suddenly there’s no creep. Takes being surprised by your shot to the extreme! When you’re talking guns with this kind of accuracy it makes a difference. The Rekord is just more consistent and predictable. Now that we’re shooting again hoping Hector is still available to fix it up. Still a heckuva gun and I love shooting it.

Hatsan  Hatsan Velox - Mods, Tuning ,Teardown info.

As far as mods, I think removing the piston/push rod/linkage and removing the blowback barrel tip vent holes would make it much quieter with a moderator. From below thread they said semi auto functioned without the piston.

I get 2 shots back to back. Fast enough you can't register them apart, can only tell by mag count. After the 2nd round it does not go to battery with the third. It requires it to be re-cocked for the next round. It's not doubling up in the barrel. Not too sure what's going on with it.

So you manually cock it, and engage the sear.
-Fire it, it cycles the bolt back but not back enough to engage the sear,
-It slamfires the next round at a lesser power/fps because the hammer spring never fully compressed last time
-Third shot power is even lower, etc.. until it stops going full auto.

Trigger or maybe this issue someone reported?:
>I finally realized that the piston was compressing air as it went back and that the air had nowhere to vent and that's why the bolt probe would not go back all the way. The piston was stopping on a cushion of air

Crosman 622 trigger upgrade question

Welcome to the board.

https://anotherairgunblog.blogspot.com/ has some info on the 622. I'm not sure if they go into trigger tuning though. That gun's such a rare specimen that there isn't a lot of tuning info on it out there.

The folks in the vintage forum over at gatewaytoairguns might be able to help you.

Cheers,

J~

FINALLY....they came out....

Ok, another nice day in the Workers Paradise, and more rodents gone. Strangely they weren't all out at the same time, extremely sporadic. Net results were a whole bunch of slugs sent out and 8 connected. For a change I got my drone out, let's just say that finding the bodies with it are a challenge, even with my faithful retriever Pete standing over them. We made it easier for the Turkey Vultures, they have a regular smorgasbord, 6 of the 8.

First a nice arial shot of the main area. Then the Smorgasbord, Next up an arial shot of one at 100 yards through a chain link fence, and last contestant 25 yards, almost unfair. Ok there was another 25 yard contestant, it's in the Smorgasbord shot. Notice the bottom right had a gut problem, that was at 100 yards with AEA 30.2's out of my Raptor. One had no obvious wounds, just a bit of blood out of its mouth, strange. A view back through the two fences. And a view looking back at my nice shaded bench. All in all not a bad day.

You need to make a spreadsheet my friend. Then you can graph it all out together. My setup is pretty jankey. Cheap Chinese Chrono that I read the numbers from of into my phone as the FPS shows up. I then read the them off the phone and into Google docs and the spreadsheet I made auto populates running a average of the last five shots and the standard deviation against the string comprising the shots from that fill of the string and I add in the Hammer spring settings so I can see how that evolves.

That's the last 450 shots graphed out all using voice recognition because lazy...
That’s dope
