Hatsan  Should I modify a new pcp air rifle and if so which one?

There are too many enablers without the sense of reading between the lines; sometimes, the best help is common sense; another thing,if this guy does not care, doesn't that reflect on our air gun community? Another thing, we are lucky to be able to use air guns as freely as we do. Propensity probability can cause "us" to be hindered by unknowably committing future problems by not knowing the difference between helping and enabling a "rookie" who may cause demage to our air gun community. Many people do not like wearing a crash helmet either, though it can save your life:unsure::eek: Darwin, um wasn't he a politician:ROFLMAO:

FX  M4 converted from MILD .22 pellet pusher to WILD .25 slug monster

Theres the magic ballpark numbers again but for 25. 150bar+/- 5 900-1000 fps.

My 22 wouldn't group at or above 1000, no matter harmonic weight or moderator swaps and my calculator couldn't keep track (bc changes) . Bring it down to 990 and it was good, 980 was perfect for what I was doing.

It's nice to see a common thread for where the fx stuff seems to like to sit

PCP Rifle  NLA FX impact MK 2 for sale

This is a MK2 that has a 500mm barrel in 25cal. It has a bigger bottle. I sent this off to one of the gurus of impact work here on AGN to go through. He rebuilt the reg and completely broke down and replaced every oring in the gun and tuned it originally for the Jsb mk2 34grainers. It shoots lights out. I had him put a saber tactical bag rider on it. An airmarksman medium backbone. He replaced all the screws with stainless ones. I had him put the FX impact mk 3 ambi cocking block and lever on it. It is set up on the left side for a south paw now. It has the K&L pellet probe block on it. It has the saber tactical check riser on it and the saber tactical pic rail on it as well. It has a new ball and spring in the valve adjuster, new power wheel spring(hammer spring). It has a black arts barrel band and the fx 2 screw barrel clamp on it. A 0DB moderator. One factory mag and 2 new mags and speed loader for it never used still in box made from a guy off of AGN. It will ship in fx case. Asking 1150 plus shipping to lower 48. FX  Are expensive PCPs worth it?

Hey I'm gearing up for yotes and turkey myself. Stock 380mm 25 dreamtact at 43 fpe for the turkeys and close stuff pellets only. Money pit 700mm impact at 72 fpe in 22 slugs only. I feel really confident about predator hunting headshots with it since it shoots thru 1 1/8 cdx plywood and aluminum signs ez pz. 30 should be able to do it with pellets no problem I'd think.

The magic number I keep running into on my guns and my buddies' mavericks (500mm 25 and 22) my impact my dreamline. 150 bar plenum preesure. I dunno why it seems like the magic number for us. 15g hammer in the mavericks(home machined brass and cored with tungsten end mill shanks pressed in) stock spring rates.

Now that you've bought, people get mad about having to tune or getting stuck at a point or the liner barrels. All non issues if you can problem solve and find the source.

These guns have excellent quality machining and parts finish (i used to be in aerospace machining too) they work out of the box but the way I see it you are buying high quality components with all the POTENTIAL in the world for you to make it exactly what you need and tune for precision. Fear not, it will be easier to grasp as you go and I think you'll be happy. My fx airguns have made my 22 250 coyote gun and competition built 10/22 safe queens that just get cleaned oiled and admired. I really hope it is a great fit for you!

AEA  aea challenger

I have bullpup .457 and I can say it is the best thing I ever had, even compared with low caliber firearms. It is consistent, putting lead into 1" at 50 yards consistently. See by yourself:

The only think I unfortunately fount is that you have to be careful when disassembling / assembling.
I have broken the trigger sear because of pure lack of attention. Also, it is kind of hard to have spare parts available.

Thanks;

Hatsan  Should I modify a new pcp air rifle and if so which one?

No, he is enthusiastic about the process. There is nothing wrong with that.

My question is, where does he get the experience you say he needs and what does that experience look like?

Just shooting a weapon does not provide that.

Watch a few videos and give it a go.

Uncock, clear, remove air.
Modify, Reassemble, Test

It really is that simple.
If you can't follow those simple steps no amount of experience will help.
I knew YOU would have pearls of wisdom to add, you ALWAYS do. "I don’t care about safety", a direct quote from this guy! I guess you're not circumspect enough to see where this might be headed. I have a much different perspective & approach than you & do not agree with yours. It's not the 1st time. "I DON'T CARE ABOUT SAFETY" tells me all I need to know about this guy. You call it enthusiasm but I'll be looking for him on the Darwin awards! Use your brains people!
