Head shot thread

Vulcan 3 30caliber
62.5g @ 1001fps / 139fpe

Small entrance big exit!

Hard to judge distance at night. I aimed a bit low thinking he was a little closer than he actually was
so I thought my shot was gonna be a tad bit higher but it went right where the crosshairs were.

Slow motion is a bit choppy since I have to record at a reduced frame rate in low light

Anyway plenty of energy to get the job done!

Great shot… judging distance at night with or without the red lights is hard. Even with the NV I use a red light mounted on the stock. Kinda cycling in between the two helps but I still miss sometimes.

Airforce  Help with male to male? for Benjamin Tank.

Let me understand, you'll be using a double male foster to connect compressor hose to tank hose for filling the tank? It appears in the picture (Amazon ad) that there's a male foster on the tank ( with a rubber cap) and THAT'S what's used for filling tank from your compressors's hose. You shouldn't even need a double male, or am I misunderstanding? Or, is your tank different from the one shown in ad?
I didn't buy the one pictured. I just bought that exact same styled tank. The tank comes with its own hose and the end of the hose is a female end (so it can connect to the rifle.) The compressor also has a female end... so they can connect to the rifle. As such, since the end of the tank is female (i didn't buy a hose) I needed a way to connect the female end of my air compressor, to the female end of the the tank listed above. Hence the male to male. One end of the male goes into my air compressor and the other end of the male goes into the female end of my tank. Allowing them to fill each other up.
I think I got the last one I bought from Pyramyd Air. I still use it.
I bought a cheap one once on ebay and it let go at 4k.. I was able to shut the compressor down but the hose on the tank was a different story. That hose was flailing around trying to kill me.
You always bleed the line before you disconnect from a compressor. Also the tanks have a manual valve. Close that, before bleeding the line.

Airmaks?

Utah is showing limited stock on all airmals and low prices. May not be seeing them anymore.
During the last sale, they only had a few .177, and none of them were discounted much in comparison to the near closeout price on the .22 and .25 models. (IE: $990 .22s and $1100 .177s)

Edgunwest has been OOS on most .177 models for 2 months.

Talontunes seems to only sell the long/HP versions

Airgun direct says they're getting in a lot of stuff but dont move many .177 so those may be special orders...but the website is all over the place so i dont know what he really has.

Airmaks?

A month ago, I talked briefly with Utah Airguns about purchasing a Krait L .25. They were out of stock, and I was told they weren't getting any more in. The Sales Rep tried to shift my attention to other Krait's they did have in stock.

I'm not sure if Sales Rep meant never ever getting anymore in, or just not anytime soon.

Custom parts for fx

Jon
For an exterior regulator that fits between the guns bottle and the stock take a look at these from Lane Regulators and Altaros

If you are looking for a regulator to go between your separate air tank and the rifle (tethering) look at this from Huma-Air

Hope this helps
Edward

Compressor Safety

You don't need a bomb squad suit but HPA ain't no joke and needs to be respected.
So, you got this shiny new PCP gun that is pressurized to 300 bar. Your holding it within inches of your face as you take aim..
My question would be.. is it hard to shoot with all that safety equipment on?

Need Ideas - Portable Paper Target Stands

If you have a old folding chair you dont need, you can use that the same way as your folding targer holder. You can clip targets to the back rest poles or you can throw a cardboard box on the seat and pin your target to that. Probably not the best solution but easy to accomplish with a old $10 folding chair and cardboard box if you have the items laying around already.

N/A  Best 22 pellet slinger?

I have a bunch of 22 pellets sitting around. My gk1 22 is on a gto only diet so im looking to get another 22 that can shoot a variety of pellets well if such a thing exists.

I would like something that is not too heavy and in the area of compact to mid sized. I would like to be able to externally adjust the power for 16-25 grain pellets and hold sub moa to 75 yards.

I was thinking a slash 22 compact, but they are still pretty fresh so i didnt pull the trigger.

Anyways, I want to hear what you guys have to say before I make a decision.
I have a bunch of 22 pellets and hybrid slugs to play with now, so I built a disco to use em. Cheap cheap fun.

The fx maverick compact is not super popular anymore and might be had at a deal used. It can shoot all those well from first had experience.

Has ANYONE seen this before???

what are you shooting RMD's in....my wildcat is in .177....
Mrd and heavy hades are the only pellet my impact can shoot at minimum power since the tungsten hammer. They're going sooo fast on my pwr1 setting for 23 slugs. Like 960 but they work for "up close" in the 50 to 80 yard area. It's meant for slugs tho. My buddies maverick likes them and 23 javelin as well. I have to keep all sorts of 177,22,25 ammo in stock to feed the stable.

I went from trying to get guns to shoot different ammo to just building guns to shoot each type of ammo.

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

A bunch of firsts this morning.
1) Zeroed in my EQ (tack driver)
2) Did some work on the rail that I ordered from backyard air guns in order to make it work with my Arca head on my BOG tripod
3) Got to use my SCBA bottle setup to fill my rifle for the first time.
