HW/Weihrauch  Ok Weihrauch Airgunsmiths, I need some advice... HW35 Barrel Latch Worn

Maybe I'm completely missing something, but what is wrong with this airgun that makes it no longer serviceable and that needs to be addressed?
It looks like a nice old HW35E that's been cared for and maybe even little used, from the late 60's-early '70's, early pattern one side safety, pre Beeman marketing, above average stock figure?

new guy to airguns

Now I'm thinking get a 'bottle' to bring to the range with me to top off. Haven't even touched the gun and already thinking of what more do I want (G).
I find a smallish 2L or 3L bottle as a tether is more convenient. No need to stop and fill. Tank filled to gun pressure or (if you can find one anymore) a regulated fill valve (I have 2).

Only issue is gun fill placement and whether tether can be used easily.

Umarex  ZELOS HEAVY DUTY BOTTOM RAIL.

Here is another great Zelos product from www.heartlandairguns.com it's a heavy duty trigger guard replacement bottom rail. There is nothing to compare this to it's tough I mounted it on my Zelos , and clamped it in a vice that's how tough it is. Fits perfect very snug. I'm adding a few more pics of the double mag as well , but there is a full review on this under PCP. OldVet.

Help selecting PCP HFT rifle

I am looking to buy a HFT and I like the Raw. They dont have the 0.177. The club I go to requires under 20 lb. And then the consensus is 850 to 900 FPS for optimal accuracy, which brings down the speed to under 800 fps for a 14 gr pellet. So how would you achieve the optimal speed?
You'll be at a disadvantage using 22 cal for any type of sub 20 fpe FT. Either the BC is going to be low or going very slow with higher BC 22 cal pellets. Best to stick with 17 cal unless you don't care much about missing and missing isn't fun. I tried this a few times as an experiment and I was missing the faceplate when the wind kicked up, also shooting my lowest score using JSB 15.9gr which has the same BC as the JSB 10.3 .177. Plus more chance of splits on the edge of the face plate. It all added up to disappointment for me.

But there are guys in my club that are having good success with 20 cal in FT. A tad more BC so good in the wind but not all that slow with the lighter pellets. Just saying this because 20 cal is going to be a custom thing.

Killing small game with 17 cal around 20fpe isn't all that hard if you stay within normal airgun distances and place the shot right and if I was using 22 cal for hunting it'd be 30 fpe or preferably twice that.

This is the dilemma when we try to shoehorn different use cases.

HW/Weihrauch  HW35E-Great Rifle

To me, it is unfortunate the Weihrauch decided to put those tacky stocks on their entire line.
Nasty looking self-serving advertisement.
I do not mind the smallish Weihrauch script on the forearm so much as I cringe at what they have done to the butt section. Taken as a whole, I am solidly in the 'do not want' camp regarding the new stock design.
Then there is the ridiculously high comb on the iron sighted 77..........:cautious:

Hi Mark B. Check out this thread

There is a post (number 12) showing a red dot and the poster says it's OK with spring piston rifles. It's also inexpensive, so not much to lose. Cheers.

Years ago i used to compete with an Aimpoint on an AR platform. Those competitions were pretty brutal on equipment and my aimpoint red dot never failed, it's still going strong many years later and countless rounds through it, dropped in mud and water etc. etc......the company is awesome to deal with if you do run into a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. they have military discounts and sometimes you can find nice ones used and hardly used.
Thanks, Max

Tuning  Umarex M1A1 Thompson Repair

Other than the bolt moving back and forth, the Airsoft M1A1 is not the same as the Umarex Co2 BB gun. I am going to have to take apart, at least partially, the Umarex lower to expose the bolt mechanism (very carefully) and hopefully have access to the spring/bolt mechanism and see what is what. It is after all a C02 BB gun and not a Swiss Watch or nuclear reactor. (Taking pictures as I go.)
While you’re in there, see if there’s any way to add a recoil buffer. Anything that might soften that bolt slamming against the receiver.
