I got lucky

If you like to shoot and you're hooked on your springer, a PCP is the logical next step in your disease. Welcome and let us know what you decide to get!
I have acquired quite a few springers, and only early this year got my first SSP rifle after having 3 pistols. I am resisting the PCP route, because of all the accessory equipment needed, the expense and finally a place to put more guns and a compressor.

HW/Weihrauch  Aperture disks...

so you talk clicks most of the sights that Mike D is showing would be 10 clicks the one in the bottom right looks to be a FWB and it would be 20 clicks and the sights one the 600 series should all be 20 clicks
the more clicks the finer the adjustment
Diana came to the game late in their hay day with the later model 75 TO1 rifles that had the model 100 short or long sun shade and the very rear model 82 diopter which was a model 301 Elite and of course the Model 100 SSP rifle had model 100 diopters
i am not sure if Diana made the model 100 diopter or not
in any case the disc iris is a handy cap, as it gives you no adjustment, if anyone that uses a diopter or have many, a Gehmann 510 would be a starting point for an upgraded Iris the 0.9mm to 1.1mm holes in most will not cut it for older eyes and i will tell you rubber eye cups will also help but that is another subject
and Mike you win for have the most diopters but i might have more inserts and front sights LOL

What Paper Target Did You Shoot Today

I was helluva surprised for sure.
Maybe she is like me, as a kid shooting 15 and 50 M rimfire, or 200 M 7.92 mm for that matter, some of my best series i always shot some of the first times on each distance.
Later when the wind calmed down ( 30 M somewhat in the wind shade of the barn yesterday ) at the same distance she was shooting the fairground shooting gallery clays ( about 10 X 50 mm in size with the 40 mm visible ) at the same distance, but just taking a few mm off the top in every shot. ( like we told her to do CUZ otherwise you can easy take those out with 1 shot center mass or down low on it )
She also connected on the clays few times at 75 M with the pellets, but really at that distance with .177 you need a measure of luck too.

I also needed a little luck with the same clays at 118 M, but i did get two in a row at one time, that was a arms in air moment.

She insisted of a repeat, both the grill food my friend whipped up, but also trigger time on the Maverick.
Sounds like so much fun and good food!

Other  Rear sight identification help...SOLVED!

Industry Brand Archer Bros sold them but not any more i wish they did they were a handy sight and could be used on 2240 and 1377

Interesting indeed, after zooming in on the pic I'm not even close.

Umarex  Umarex Zelos hammer spring

I was successful at getting my Zelos tuned. From the factory, the hammer was definitely over sprung. I ordered several different spring from AliExpress and the one that worked the best is a carbon steel (not SS) spring with 1mm wire diameter, 8mm coil OD, and 70mm length. Link below.
Replacement Hammer Spring

I did need to trim a couple coils off the 70 mm spring and then stretch slightly to the OAL of the OEM spring (65mm). My first attempt with the Reg pressure set to 1800 psi and 19 coils on the new spring turned out to still be over sprung. My second attempt with Reg pressure at 1600 psi worked out much better. The attached EXCEL spreadsheet jpeg snip shows the average velocity for each 1/2 turn in on the hammer spring adjuster starting from flush with the back of the receiver. I got a definite knee in the graph of velocity vs turns-in. I backed the hammer spring adjustment screw back out to be 3 full turns in from flush. This gave me about 910 fps. Accuracy was excellent with a single ragged hole for a 5 shot group.

I also tested my new moderator after getting the rifle tuned. Very happy with the new moderator. Completely eliminated the bark to the point that the loudest sound is now the hammer hitting the poppet valve. The rifle is now very backyard friendly. The moderator did shift my POI 1/4 - 1/3 inch down at 15 yards which is to be expected.

Overall, very happy with the rifle and the tune, All testing was done with JSB Exact Jumbo .22 cal 15.89 gr pellets.

Great information - attempting to tune my zelos for the first time. unaware of the oversprung problem. Have not moved my hamner spring yet but that was my next on my list. Got what I consider very good numbers for 155 bar and 25.5g .217 slugs. 7.03 spread @ 877. One mag only - afraid to try again! First time using nate chrony - didn’t know what I was missing. Anxious for my springs to arrive. Swore off aliexpress but made an exception for the springs. Thanks for sharing.

FX  Anticipating New FX King Delivery

Max pressure should be 250 bar.

Micro weel moves indepently to big weel. Big weel moves micro weel.

If posible do not mess with the regulator. If you do, NEVER reduce pressure on regulator with pressure on the bottle or the plenum.

Follow insteuction for trigger adjustment and make slow moves, 1/4 of turn at a time, and then feel it.

Accuracy will depend on the proyectile and position of Micro weel, that means power to hit the hammer that opens the valve, more air more power.

Practice, practice, practice.

Trigger needs adjustment.

Owners manual normally aré Made for regular users, not for expert gunsmiths.
I don't need a detailed schematic and repair manual, only one that gives good clear instruction on things such as how to adjust the power, how to fill the bottle properly, how to adjust the trigger, some trouble shooting tips, and how to maximize accuracy.

I got lucky

My first post so if I’m in the wrong place I apologize.
I’m a lifelong powder burner but needed something quite for an urban pest problem. I got lucky . Went online, first thing that I find is Airguns of Arizona and then I see Weihrauch 50S Hunter, with scope and moderator so I ordered it in .22 cal. It works perfectly for my pest problem. I then went online, did some research and found out I couldn’t have made a better choice of what to get and where to get it. AoA was very helpful, suggested a tune and promptly shipped it. Super accurate, quiet , cheap to shoot and I can shoot in my back yard. I am hooked. I’m now looking at PCP.
Welcome to the party. I offer you both my congratulations and my prayers(as you are at the front end of your new addiction). I predict that by this time next year you will have a new safe filled with airguns and a huge selection of various airgun related products. I did business with Pyramid Air today and was very pleased with the associate(Ronda) who took my order-she was sooo polite, thorough, and entertaining to converse with. I'm looking forward to the delivery of a new FX King. I've not ever heard a discouraging word about Weihrauch. What caliber is yours and what kind of stock did it come with?

Hello Stan in Kentucky

FX  FX Impact mk4 V Beeman commander

just for fun I just bought a cheep Beeman Commander .22 cost around $240 It has a surprisingly nice stock I shot It for the first time today , using AEA 18g pellets at 900 fps out to 65 yards and got this group , then I shot my Impact same pellets same distance So I sat there for a minute and thought wow that group Is as good as my MK4 Impact that cost ( with extras ) around 3K . I don't hunt, I bench rest most of the time , so I'm thinking why am I spending all this money on high end guns when a gun at a fraction of the cost shoots just as well . yes the Beeman Is not a refined as the Impact but It's the end result that counts right ?
