How much clearance?

@Rickstwowheels So long as there is no interference in regards to projectile clipping or on accuracy then you should be fine. Knowing whether there is clipping with a slug is hard to tell sometimes (especially with light clipping and maintaining fairly consistent accuracy) without seeing the projectile's marred shank. Shooting it into a block of gel or down into a bucket of water will usually produce a good specimen to examine. Otherwise, the inside of the cone holes may show light lead streaks.

If you feel there isn't enough clearance or if some of the cone hole ends show any lead streaking, simply opening up the ends evenly with careful strokes using a large diameter round chainsaw file works well.

Tank enclosure…

Somebody posted pictures of a ruptured carbon fiber tank here but it's been awhile ago. Trusting my memory is a bit iffy but I am confident the tank had a big chunk of carbon fiber removed and still didn't fail until well over 10K pressure (less sure about the pressure but it was not near 5000). The carbon fiber kept pieces from flying out, still.

I use an expired Scott Air pack and I take no special precautions. I just do not see them as necessary. But if you do, that's totally OK. I keep my air pack in a wooden tray to protect it, however. I don't want to drop it, especially on the valve. I fill it with the tank in the tray and fill guns with it in the tray. Doesn't add much weight and also holds fill probes, dead head, some silicone oil, and targets.

N/A  Stoeger Bullshark or Air Venturi Avenger Bullpup II ?

The main purpose for this is pest control…Ravens for the most part…last year they tore up a cloth awning cover on a RV that was being stored in our storage yard…they also tore a hole in the rubberized roof of a very expensive motorhome along with two air conditioning covers… not to mention the two baby killdeer chicks 🐣 they carried off… 😡
Their destruction stopped after I popped one with a .22 lr. (They’re fast learners) every morning and evening, I’d see them fly up and down the hill, but after one of them got popped, they’d DETOUR around the property, taking care not to get too close. It’s legal to shoot firearms where I am, but I’m not comfortable with doing it willy nilly because I live next to a state highway… coyotes are at times are a problem too, but like ravens. They learn quick.

Spring loaded target

Well done Dave, that’s a lot of pellets. Which rifle did you use?
Gary
Used2 different 50’s .22 cal.
‘This is the last part 47 yds.
IMG_1390.jpeg
Made a point to check all before taking on range. Used the King HW90 .20. Screws all loose and rear trigger screw gone. Replaced with new one. At least 10 shots clean through 1/2 in. hole. Head shots. All bells Now called the “Gary challenge”.
Still have snow and ground is frozen but did some sniffing. An opening 8 ft wide x 6 ft high 44 yds.
IMG_1389.jpeg
I’m going to clean up where the crooked target is, right of tree. I have dozens of cedar logs to use somehow as a frame. I can rebuild a new frame for the other side as well. It’s 47 yds. That’s part of a trellis I didn’t burne. Lot of waisted space there. My summer project. Crow
I was just going to send this and a knock at the door.

I was first using chain, ran out of chain. Switched to wire, cheaper. Don’t like wire, I have another roll of different gauge chain coming.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Hatsan Flash-R w/ cvlife red dot & bipod

Looking to sell my hatsan Flash-R, this is the regulated hatsan flash that came out recently and comes with or without cvlife bipod and Red Dot. I'll also include a tin of Apollo pellets, they shoot very well out of this gun just as good as jts and close to as good as jsb. I have the box, orginal fill probe, an aftermarket quick disconnect fill probe, everything from orginal purchase from hatsan. I have a 3x9x32 baraska scope if preferred over red dot. No leaks and still shoots great, pic of accuracy at 45yards is at the bottom. Ive put roughly 1500 rounds through it only thing that broke was the pressure gauge, it isnt in the right place so I marked where 3600psi is on gauge. I watch my compressor gauge when filling it now. It's very easy to replace.
I'll be fixing gauge next week and price will go up $10 when I do.
$150
$130 without bipod and optic
Shipping not included avg. is $25

I will send buyer a video with their AGN name in it and me shooting hatsan flash-r before payment if requested.

If any questions please feel free to ask

FX DRS Custom Wood Stock Development.

Its realy nice indeed :D just a question, would it be and option to make a hole for the hammer adjuster and reg so you dont have to take it out.
The hammer spring adjuster will be a tough one. I do not have a way to bore a hole, and to cut a slot through the top will really guy the rear of the stock. Will have to think on it a bit. The regulator will be a challenge too for the same reasons.

Close out on Coltri

I just stocked up on compressor oil. Their shipping was high but if you order 6 pints it’s still half the price of other quality brand oils. I also got air filter for my Daystate compressor their price was less than that half that charged elsewhere

Oil was 7.50

Filter 9.95

Umarex  Porting the Notos Breech

Update - I got everything drilled out to 4mm and cleaned up and reassembled. Have to say, the results I got were awesome. Here’s my 15 shot string using 13.43 grain pellets. Not sure how this stacks up to others results but I’ll take it! Thanks to everyone who helped me do this. This forum is the best.

HW/Weihrauch  HW30 Vortek Tuning Question

Nice work, when breaking the barrel does it have immediate tension. In my .20 cal it’s under load at break. The. It’s a fluid cock but solid all the way. No load up. I’m wondering as the actual PG4 kit has a shorter spring with less coils and I may change to what you did.
Yes, it does have immediate tension.
I almost maxed out the 3.125" piston space with (25) .113" Vortek coils (I got a uncut spring .... 35 coils w/un-closed ends) + .160” T-H = 2.985".
I wanted to fully compress the spring to get max power as I could always cut coils if it was too harsh. Now that I've tested it, I could have 23/24 active coils instead of compressing the last (3) the way I did. I wanted to use the spring for spacing instead of a longer Top-Hat.

I'm going to run another 10 shot string and see what I get ...............

New Glass Fiber Composite Stock For FX DRS

If I sent you the stock from an FX Bobcat MK1 could you do the same? Fantastic shooter but heavy for its size. Feel free to PM me.
I have a line that is at least two years long right now for new design work, so it will be a while before I could even think about it.

Crosman pellets

I have never seen an accuracy or performance difference in my P-rod between domed and HP Crosmans. Neither expands at the 700 fps or so I am shooting them but they kill squirrels fine. I have a couple tins I bought several years ago and pulled some out when I was doing tests shooting through 22 gauge sheet metal. Still shot fine out of the Prod but for any target work or even for squirrels, I use H&N copper plated FTTs. I have not had 22 caliber Crosmans I would call "trash". Only 177s. I have never measured any pellets with 10 different head sizes in a tin, however.

I have never tried Crosmans in my P35-22 or Caiman X which is a 22. The Caiman shoots 18 grain H&Ns over 900 fps and the P25 shoots 21 grain H&N Match pellets over 800 fps so I think the velocity of Crosmans would be inconsistent with accurate shooting. I don't have a desire to retune the guns to shoot Crosmans. I can understand people wanting to plink with them, however.

HW/Weihrauch  HW30 Vortek Tuning Question

Sounds like a nice piece of equipment. Could the dieseling be caused by the “superlube” you are using? Never heard of using that before. Unless you are referring to “ultralube” which was a Beeman branded chamber lube (I think it was a silicone/moly blend).
Yes, it's SuperLube w/PTFE synthetic grease. Charlie Da Tuna on the GTA used to recommend it for spring piston, compression chambers.
However, if I didn't already have a 5 year supply of ARH lubes & SuperLube .... I would go with Krytox. It's been proven to be the best.

Superlube does combust in the compression chamber, so a little goes a long way.

Beeman Blue Ribbon Scopes

I’ve always liked the Beeman Blue Ribbon line. There were many different models, and I’ve owned just about every one at one time or another. Many even duplicates.

Now down to about 7-8 or so. The Skylight ones are interesting. Here are 3: SS2L 3x, SS2L 4x, and a 66RL which is a 2-7x 32mm

N/A  Stoeger Bullshark or Air Venturi Avenger Bullpup II ?

To me regulator creep is a drawback of having a gauge on the regulated chamber. The Bullshark does not and I don't think that is a significant disadvantage. It forces users to look for changes in POI or velocity instead of focusing on small movements of an inexpensive gauge. I am not accusing anybody of anything, just observing the POI and velocity is what we really care about.

My 25 Avenger leaked when I got it but Air Venturi fixed it and it has not leaked since. But I was out something like $80 to ship it back to them. It is accurate but my best 30 yard challenge score with it is about 185. All my 3 P35s have done significantly better than that. The P35-25s best is 194, the P35-177 has done a 197 and the P35-22 has given me one 200. I'm hoping to better the P35-177 this year. It seems more accurate than a 197 but it is terribly wind sensitive (like other 177s from what I can gather). This year my best target is a 198 with the P35-22. It is at least as accurate as my Caiman X that cost about 3X.
