30-Yard Challenge

As you guys are all getting so good with the scores that you have been posting...

... thought you might like to see & try out the types of targets that the International Benchrest Guys (like Rickie the Airgunnero) shoot in competitions.

Attached is the WRABF 25 meter (27.34 yards) Benchrest Target. This file has their official target sizes but has been rejiggered to fit on our typical US Letter paper size - so you can print it easily at home and try it.

I've also done some research and attached the ring sizes of the WRABF 25 meter (25 meters is a similar distance to our 30 yard challenge) and the WRABF 50 meter targets. Dang! Those competition bench rest shooters are good.

For comparison, the 10-ring on our 30/40 Challenge target measures .13 inches - which is 3.3mm (millimeters).

Even crazier, all those UK shooters of this target are using 12 ft/lb .177 rifles to shoot this 25 meter target in the wind...

Happy Shooting,

-Ed

Huben  All Things HUBEN GK1 (air pistol) - Master Thread

Given this is the GK1 masterthread, what are all the different types of lubricant that the GK1 needs? Are we talking grease? Oil? 100% silicone? Something else?

For example, people talk of degassing with unscrewing the brass screw under the loading gate - if you do this it makes sense that air will push lubricant out. Do you replace the lubricant - and with what? Or not?

Thanks

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

There are a lot of good reasons to allow range finders in a separate class. Posting ranges skunks those who want the additional traditional challenge.

WFTF coordinates over many countries which restricts change.
The challenge for change/inclusion will be more of a cultural challenge against tradition.

Americans are far more receptive to change, or challenge authority or shake things up, for better or worse. We have 4 divisions at most matches, 3 recognized for competition one is freestyle.

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

Just posting the ranges would make more sense. Then the new shooters wouldn't even have to buy a rangefinder.

Of course, just making the kill zones square instead of round would solve any rangefinding advantage anyone had and make it the same no matter what scope you used.

But, I agree with Jim. Never gonna happen.

Why not just start your own organization and see how many people really feel the way you do?

Mike
