Here’s some shot records from last night. About 550 total shots through gun. 10 different pellets.
Regulator doesn’t seem to do anything, just slowly goes from high to low.
Sorry if you can’t translate my notes, I barely canView attachment 558425
The gun seems to have a lot of AEA in it from appearance. I remember when AEA first introduced their regs I saw more than one gun do exactly the same thing. Just not an AEA fan and that makes me hesitant of karma.

my favorite posts section.

I don't own a 2240 but shot one often when I was younger. Have you tried the Huben GK1? I had never owned an airgun pistol but have always wanted one, so I bought the GK1 in .22. It has functioned flawlessly since I got it 5-6 months ago, is very accurate with light 20-21gr slugs, is comfortable and very well made. I really enjoy shooting it a lot and surprisingly, it gets between 40-50 shots per fill with the slugs at about 900fps! I bought a cheap LH holster for it and almost always carry it when I'm out walking and training my dog, "Lola." You airgun pistol guys are on to something!;) I hope you don't mind me sharing a picture in your 2240 post but I just love this thing! You should come up North, near Ukiah and shoot with Lewis, Dave and I sometime.
Have a great day.

Inconsistent groupings on Fx M4

agree with the above.

i think it could be.....any or all.
1. pellets going too fast.
2. too much hammer for current regulator setting causing widely fluctuating pellet speeds.
3. your pellets.
too many times ive seen someone buy an fx and run the cheapest pellets they can find through it (crossman) and then blame the gun for not shooting at its best,
run some flavor of JSB,JTS,or H&N pellets if you want accuracy and consistency.
4. check the barrel liner and moderator for any obstructions or imperfections.
5. clean the barrel liner. alot of people forget this step cause they cant wait to get shooting,
maybe just some crud causing poor groups.

also,
seeing this was your first post,
how much experience do you have with pcp's?

too many unanswered questions lol
So, pardon my ignorance but howinell does a new guy “get” all this dialed in? Ive tried fx, jsp hades, hn hunter extreme and some cheap stuff. Sligs and pellets. Ground squirrels at 60-100 yds. Wildcat 3 btl with arken epl4(way more scope than i need at this range but.. quality over.. ). Flyers with everything ive tried. Some fly inchess off!

runnin 130 psi on the reg, barrel clean, everything tight. Stock barrel and liner. Hammer bumped up 1/4 turn..

Snowpeak  No step in pressure tube Artemis P15!

Well it did the usual: bumped up speed significantly. I had tried upping the power to no prevail. After installing the plenum I got way more fpe. Something like 10 to 15 fpe more out of a previously anemic setup. Just enough to smack serious critters.

Increasing regulator pressure does very little after the max efficiency is achieved. Then it pretty much doesn't matter how much you wound the hammer and reg.
When you find that level, adding plenum size usually nets you more energy without touching anything, although one may want to search for all those loose ponies and get the accuracy.

It's been much debated if plenum saves air. What I have interpreted is that when shooting your max power level with a very small plenum, you're wasting a lot and not getting much out of it. So in that sense adding plenum volume will inevitably increase power and conserve air, albeit not to the extent to be regarded as air saving add on.
This is only my take on rather meaningless endeavor years back.
If someone has in depth info, I will stand corrected.

All the best
Thank you. I will buy and install it to see what will happen.

What do you guys/gals think? ,your opinion wanted.

i'm a lefty....not by choice. lost sight in my right eye in 2017.
my airguns got me back on track. i got plenty of air & PB guns designed for RH shooters.
i just work around it and i seem to be much better as a lefty.
BTW, i'm a hunter/pester and don't shoot paper unless sight'n in.🤘

Taipan  Thats unfortunate

Thank you @Franklink.

thread above titled “ Taipan Veteran orings” part #99 the oring that is sandwiched between the valve housing’s tapered end cone part # 48 and part #30 the brass poppet seat......Do you find it easier to simply remove part #30 by removing its grub screw and pushing the part out of the receiver from the hammer/striker side?

Yeah that tapered cone deforms oring #99. And yes, grub screw from underneath the breech block can be removed to pull part #30 out of the breech block to baby the poppet sealing surface. I don't have any but another idea would be some non-marring oring picks from Amazon, they're just plastic. Usually when I'm wanting to get an oring from a place I don't want to scratch, I use the little oring tool that came with my Shoebox. I tried to find a photo online but couldn't, and I'm not home. It's a small little piece of steel rod with the end turned down and then a little flat/round disc on the end. It's not sharp and it'd hard to scratch some thing with, but that little disc allows a guy to get under an oring and lift it without digging at the groove where it sits like often happens when using a dental pic.

Here's an idea of the little oring tool that came with the shoebox. OD of the shaft of the tool is smaller than a pencil. Little disc is maybe 1/16" in diameter.

RAW HM1000x, Daystate Alpha/Deltawolf, Brocock, Skout Epoch/EVO, Karma, Vulcan, Urugan, Epic, etc...
I don't get the problem with the M3 though. I too am a lefty, have a MKII and M3 and have never had a problem. The Maverick is a different story. Maybe try moving your scope forward so your face is in front of the magazine area. There are people here on AGN that sell LH cheek rests, that will certainly help more than a LH magazine kit. With all of that being said, buy a new airgun! There are a lot of great ones available these days depending on your needs!
Have a great day!

P.S. For reference, I attached a photo of my M3 with the LH cheek rest and my MKII with the standard cheek rest moved to the right side.

RTI Prophet ... ah, its heavy. I had the PII. Well thought out, but the way the cocking arm chews out the receiver annoyed me ( OCD ). Tried a compact P and still thought ... too heavy. The PII I had shot both slugs and pellets great and that's with me behind the trigger. IMHO, it is an awesome bench or rest setup. I tend to be 'picky'.

Daystate  Wolverine

Hi ChickenD,

I've owned a .22 Wolverine R HP for a few years now, I'll give you my thoughts on the rifle. Mine is the green camo laminate stock - exactly like in this video. My velocities are exactly like in this video.

My thoughts:
Crazy heavy trigger out of the box - see another thread today where I suggest a fix that works well. (heaviest trigger out-of-the box that I've ever experienced on a PCP - and I've owned lots of PCPs from every major brand).

The .22 HP seems to have been designed around a single pellet JSB/FX 25.39g (MRD). It shoots them at 895-900fps as delivered. It shoots 18.13g at 1,025fps and 15.89g at 1,040fps. Stunningly, I have achieved excellent accuracy doing precision target shooting at 30 and 40 yards with 18.13s at that ridiculous velocity (200 in 30-Yard Challenge and 197 at 40 Yard Challenge).

The HP is a very long and bulky feeling rifle in hand. It feels lighter than it looks, but it is not "maneuverable" . Its form is well suited to benchrest.

Daystate drove me crazy with the stupic 0-ring in the shroud carrier - it would rip out and break every time I removed the shroud. It is an unusual size - I was able to get the exact size and some close-to sizes from the O-Ring store that work well. I actually shot some of my best scores with no o-ring installed on the carrier - essentially free-floating the barrel inside the shroud.

Despite its power, the HP has a very nice shot cycle, it is more mellow than you think,

The Wolverine is adjustable for power. You do this via adjusting the length of hammer throw on the Slingshot Hammer. It is straightforward, you have to do it with the stock off. You can also adjust regulator pressure. I've rebuilt my reg, it does take quite a bit of disassembly to adjust regulator. Heck, Daystate uses the same 18mm diameter hammer spring in everything - so you can even swap hammer springs if you desire, lol. The delivered regulator pressure is high - about 162-165bar from Daystate's tune.

The Wolverine R HP CANNOT be decocked like most PCPs! I had a Daystate rep explain that the rifle was designed to have the action open when walking from station to station (field target shooting in mind for the design I guess). With the cocking lever back (open), you cannot fire the rifle. However, you cannot decock by pressing the trigger while holding the cocking lever. Strange "feature".

I've thought many times that I would have preferred the non-HP .22 Wolverine. It is shorter, more maneuverable and shoots 18.13s at "normal" 880fps velocities. The .25 Wolverine R HP seemed a better choice than .22 for the big 600mm barrel HP format. However, the HP barrels are polygonal rifling and the standard barrels are not - and the polygonal have been great shooters for me.

So, I would have recommended the .25 over the .22 if you wanted an HP Wolverine.... until just the past year. Now there are the JSB 20.83g pellets and the JTS/AEA 22.07g. These pellets are ideally suited the the .22 HP's factory power level - they shoot at 925 and 915fps and have been delivering excellent results target shooting. The .22 HP platform always seemed a bit underpowered to me for the 25.39g. At 890fps, I would get great accuracy at 75 yards, but things fell apart quickly at longer distances out to 100. I didn't get good results at 100 - but I'm shooting at a windy "range".

In conclusion, the .22 Wolverine R HP is a bit quirky, but its accurate. You are buying one at the perfect time - as the pellet choices now available suit it better than when I got my .22 HP. Buy yourself some JSB 20.83g and some JTS 22.07g and have some fun.

Hope this helps,

-Ed

Inconsistent groupings on Fx M4

Micro at 5 is likely too much at 130bar. But maybe not. Stock hammer seems to be capped anywhere from 125 to 135bar. My M4 700mm gives me around 97% of max speed 20 micro clicks down from 5 at 132bar (it’s a .25 though). You need a chrono to figure this out. Plus, slugs are as*holes to figure out. A .30 Hades will be very humane to ordinary pests ;)
So, you guys are WAY over my head; micro macro clicks???

Inconsistent groupings on Fx M4

Johnsmith120 I feel your pain. I also have an M4 that is inconsistent. Here are my settings;
FX M4 Impact, 30 cal, 700mm, Vortex crossfire II 6x18-44 scope
45yds range
Reg: 130bar
Macro: 16
Micro 5
Front Valve: 4+1/2 turn
Pellets 30 cal 44.5 gr FX Hybrids
Recently (200 shots ago) replaced my stock 1:40 liner for a 1:16 STX superior heavy liner.
The 1:16 shoots slugs better than the 1:40. But 44.8gr Hades shoot better out of 1:40 as you might expect.

Today, using the heavy liner I was getting .60-.70 groups of 5 shots at 45yds. Then next shot is 1 1/2" north?!?!?? Next shot is low left by an inch?!?!? Then three next three are high an inch, but stacked on top each other.
Well maybe the scope is loose. Nope, checked it. Barrel liner loose, Nope checked it.

I bought the to kill pests humanely. It's not very humane if my vital organ shot hits a leg.
Not happy with my purchase right not.

Yes I cleaned the new STX barrel liner.

I'm getting the same issue with H&N 50gr.
If it were $10 wrench, i would have thrown it. But I did the responsible thing and just put it away for the day.
I hear you brother… zackly my frustration level. New wildcat 3 btl with arken epl4 .25 cal any pellet/slug. I really do shoot better than this. Plis i swear i.m gettin cold barrel (?) shots first or second shot of the session

Inconsistent groupings on Fx M4

I recently bought an Fx impact m4. It seems to be shooting inconsistently on a double stand setup (no I wasn’t holding it) when I was zeroing it. Would anyone know the reason?
So, me too! (wildcat 3 btl .25 cal with Arken epl4). imguess it needs a “proper” tuning…sigh (alot to this).can you “properly” tune one without a chronometer? I get “flyers” alot. 2 or 3 in the one inch at 70 yds then a couple inches out?? cold barrel a thing with these?i am pretty new (maybe five to ten thousand rounds downrange…)

I have one in .22 as well. Trying to make some time to test it fully. 2000psi reg setting TP adjuster set to max is slinging 26gr slugs at 1000fps. Hammer adjuster is still turned out several revolutions. Looks like it's capable of plenty of power. I'll see how it does at a low setting, medium, and high. It's probably going to be another week to get fully through it but I'm really liking it so far.
