Where theres a need is there a product ?

Interesting. I wonder if I could make it smaller…. or would I end up on my own “ Ruby Ridge “

If you can find a Crosman 1100 Trap-Master it would do the job quite well. I had one with a sawed off barrel and it did a number on fruit-rats in the garage.

Cheers,

J~

Air gun AI, I find that I must agree with you. The AA line of PCP's are in desperate need of tweaking.
A lot in fact. I feel like what they need is an infusion of new, creative talent for visual appeal and start to use
the decades of experience that all of the manufactures have amassed over all of these years.
I look at a Girandoni from the late 1700's and it inner working are conceptually the same as my NJR.
I pull all sorts of air guns apart and the firing valve is basically a tire's, Shrader valve in concept. My 1994
NJR and my FWB P70 from 2000 are similar enough that I can work on them without a manual.
That said, the German stuff is really well planned and executed. It's really compact and efficient.
As I recall, a Hi-power P70 has a heavier hammer and a plenum that is about 6mm longer.
Why do these guns cost so much? Once you have the design and you watch how quickly that CNC machines
produce parts, yes...you have to ask that question. At this point, they might consider using a Remmington 700
footprint for their guns. That would allow for use of a tremendous number of existing products to be use.
That is anything that a Rem 700 uses. Socks, aluminum, chassis. triggers. etc. Why reinvent the wheel?
A company called Vudoo has taken that approach with their .22LR and they are not alone. It provides for
a tremendous amount of personal customization. As for my taste, I hate the big, fat carbon fiber bottle that is
so often used. I find it offensive! Make one longer to give it better visual balance. Post #3

I would look up some videos first before doing anything. But one of the ones I remember watching, also mention the gun is only about 87 decibels loud on average, and that I would likely fare better with heavier lead, so 12 would probably help.

I shoot slugs exclusively with the 700. It is extremely accurate with them. I will occasionally shoot pellets but 90%+ of the time it is slugs. I shoot both with the 550. The 550 is more accurate with the pellets, but it is also great with the KOs and FX(RMR). I can shoot the 22g slugs and the 22.07 JTS with the same tune and a slight scope change. The 550 is also quieter than the 700, so it is better for the shorter range pesting.

I have only adjusted the HST on each of the Vet 2s. There was no need to change anything else! The triggers were setup by Tony very well.

I would say the experiencee would be very similar in .25 as I have with the .22.

Interesting that pellets are shooting better for you out of one barrel over the other. Do you happen to recall approx what velocity the pellets are shooting at from each barrel?

That info on the sound is interesting as well. I guess I assumed the longer barrel would have been quieter, but I suppose that only holds true when shooting at the same fps.

Different CO2 cartridges?

years ago they tested many brands and here are the posts
now that was then so things could have changed but it will give you an idea
i see you said 15€ so you are in Europe i guess and your sources could be fewer than in the states

Tequila Gun PCP

I’m guessing you don’t like the lollipop sight picture much?

I learned that sight picture from PB shooting so it’s natural to me.
Didn't say that, I've got a red dot and with the Tequilas new adapter it's a perfect alignment to the top of the front sight or the hole, forget which, but it's an annoyance to me. My PBs are a different story, just iron sights on the handguns.....except for the Mark III, slapped a red dot on it.

blowback pistol slide lubing

I own a Umarex SA10, I read on CO2 guns it's better to only use silicone based lubricants. Silicone oil it's not a good lube for metals so I used silicone based grease on the slide.

It seems to work, but then other people told me to avoid grease since it creates gunk and mix with dust creating an abrasive compound".

This grease is quite thick but stays fluid with time, does not become dry gunk and seems not to trap much dirt.

Gun works well, there's a bit of minor wear on the slide (I'm around 2500 rounds) but everything seems fine at a first look... At the same time I'm not sure this grease is "soft enough" , racking the slide gives a "like rubber" sensation...

What do you use?
Plain old gun oil. Charles

Tuning the .22 cal Guantlet 2 SL Trial , and Error Results.

I spent some time yesterday doing some trial , and error tuning on my .22 cal Guantlet 2 SL , and wanted to share what I found with anyone else messing around with theirs.
First there is no need to adjust the belliview spring washer stack as there are 3 shims that are easy to get to , and as a matter of fact the stack is contained by a white O ring that holds it in place , so the configuration can't be messed up , or washers lost . I started by removing the 2 blue shims. That change alone had the Guantlet shooting 14.3 grain Crosman Premier HP really well.
Then I replaced 1 blue shims , and that had the rifle shooting the 16 grain with excellent accuracy. Next I tried removing the brown shim , and replaced the 2 blue shims. Even though the velocity wasn't at 890 fps accuracy was very impressive. The first pic is the Crosman Premier groups.
The second pic shows the last 2 groups 1 , and 2 with the 18 grain field , and target Apolo domed pellets. The last 2 pics show how the stack is not easily disturbed being held in place by the white O ring. This was very simple to do , and now that Guantlet does not have to be left shooting the 25.4 pellets only. Be careful with the 3 tiny screws holding the bottle cover on that was the hardest part. I was able to post pics the the "Guantlet regulator stack" post please see them there. Thanks OldVet. Today I got my eyes dilated, so asap I will use the hammer spring adjustment , and see if I can up the fps from 835 to a little more. Maybe my local Hardware will have some super thin shims , and I can one or more to reach that sweet 890 fps goal I have in mind. OV.

I'm almost certain that I have seen both of those very nice articles in the past.
I had to have Joe Korick make me a high-power regulator, new firing valve, spare parts for his and also spares
for the factory brass reg. Just in case he shut his doors. My small design change allows me to adjust the striker pin
stick out and the spring pre-load without needing to divorce the action and stock. I'm still getting too much hammer
bounce so, I'm looking into a FFH design.
