30-Yard Challenge

I've never had my reg past 120 which I did for shooting 21 grain H&N slugs. Changing the reg on the Caiman is also the worst of any of my guns but still completely possible. You have to remove the entire air tube while it's still pressurized to get to the degassing screw, pull the regulator, and make your adjustment. The stock is a clamshell that has to be removed first to get to anything. So I only do it if I really think I need to. Hammer spring is externally accessable but, due to the pivoting hammer, it is not real linear in it's response. Still very adjustable. Half a turn will sometimes give you the same response as 1/4 turn in a different point of adjustment.

I shot a partial target this morning and got some velocities which I put into my spreadsheet to give results. I quit because I missed a wind shift and had three shots go to the left on me in a row. I was a little disgusted with myself. But the velocities help to confirm my tune, I think. They ranged from 844 to 832 so an ES of 12 and a Std Dev of 2.94 over 22 shots. Average is 839 and that gives 34.22. I killed a little raccoon with my P35-22 tuned to 32 fpe so I don't think I need more fpe for pests or putting holes in paper. But 40 fpe seems like a good number too.

Kral Arms  Kral Puncher/ Gamo Urban SSG

I have a full upgrade for the Kral and it includes an ssg. Send me a PM. I'm working to get it in mass production and a patent with the upgrades.

Troy! This has been in your hands before / June 2017. I'll send you a message.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50S - Out of Box

Thanks for the knowledge. Got it dialed in now, seems to be shooting lasers! @Mycapt65 you may recognize this setup! If you could refrain from posting your toys for a while the wife would appreciate it! Exactly what I was looking for though! Just got it sighted in before the rain came!

just aim so you shoot between the rain drops .😊

Squirrels in the yard

Accuracy isn't good enough for headshots at distance or more than 20 ft for that matter. I got one yesterday with a body shot a 7 yds but had to follow-up with head shot from closer. I would rather take only head shots but with this gun the squirrel would have to stand at my feet. I don't like wounded animals and a tack driver would be ideal for this situation.
where are you ? check local laws . HW50 is quiet break barrel accurate and around 8 FPE more than enough power . I never had one in .22 but .177 they are deadly and fun at the same time .

Squirrels in the yard

Welcome to the best A G N
Stan in Ky.

Shoot between the EYE and EAR ,squirrel brain shot
total agreement HW50 ! gun and a tin of pellets = dead squirrels one shot .

HW/Weihrauch  HW50S - Out of Box

Thank you JamieUK - apologies as yes, I...uh..."borrowed" your pic from a UK forum a while back, whilst working on a below-par HW 35 myself. It's the best image I've ever seen of that construction detail, and I thought the OP would find it useful to see what's under the joint.

I failed to write down - and thus instantly forgot - the source at the time. I've re-posted it above with attribution.

No apologies or requirement to reference where it came from at all sir! That's what this, and all the other forums are for....sharing info on what we're passionate about (seeing the photo actually made me smile, it's nice to know that contribution was appreciated....by at least one person 😂) 👍

Pellet Collection Bargain or Bust?

I bought these pellet tins. Are any of these an uncommon tin or a lucky find? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure to SOMEBODY , they could be worth $$. But having had a PB cartridge collection for years, most of the value is the box/ container. Personally ,I'd enjoy shooting them & just hold on to the containers for a possible sale later.

Other  Walther Model 55 & SIG HAMMERILI 401 (420)

To me, the hardest bit when working on the old Walthers is the spring-loaded, sliding auto safety bar. Getting it turned the right way is a bit of a Chinese puzzle trick, and the gun won't fire If it's damaged. When you disassemble the LG 55, go slowly - and take a LOT of photos.

Also note that the dinky little coil spring sticking up out of the stock weight is more important than it looks, LOL! It keeps the cocking link pushed up to engage the piston.

Squirrels in the yard

At that distance the 760 should have enough power BUT, shot placement is essential.
Are you making body shots or head?
Body shots most likely will run at least a little even with more power.
Study squirrel anatomy and hit that brain, it'll shut him down quick
