Airforce  Airforce CondorSS .22; your choice for the most accurate standard pellet

JSB 18gr. The challenge with the Condors will be getting it low enough to be accurate. Unless you go with the inserts in the tophat, typically what you can do is try a fill pressure around 2400-2500 and pop an o ring behind the top hat. Chrony will be ultra helpful to see where your shots start to flatten out and how many shots you'll get. You'll want to take it back to around 860fps for best accuracy. Others have had good luck with 21gr Kodiaks as well. Back in the day, Eun Jin pellets were also used.

What springer did you shoot today?

Mike Melnick tuned XS25SFB in .22 the muzzle break is stock. MM tuned XS25 177 in bamboo stock
Bamboo is wonderful stuff , i once had the chance to ride a Bamboo laminate Bicycle , what a stiff frame all my energy went to the peddles .

Mass Rifle Association Field Target Match. Saturday July 26 CANCELED!!!!!!

That's weird about the pm, it worked for one reply. Oh well. Had you popped up a couple years back I was living in Sandwich. So for you, it's about 1.5 hours to Mass Rifle, maybe an hour to Marlborough, and 2 to Vernon ct or Palmer ma. As i said, it's not to bad considering how far I had to go for ft years ago.

I've dabbled in mini rc helicopters for a few months to see if I liked it. After a few hundred dollars in broken choppers I decided the money was better spent on pellets.

FX  FX M4 Slug liner?

OK, we are really similar. I just don't have any guns that lend to 1k yards, but lots of esoteric stuff, ive loaded and cast since the early 2ks. The beauty of the impact is that it's the reloading bench and the gun in 1.

If you want to chase those slugs you'll probably be doing the tungsten hammer weight, heavy liner, slug probe to control seat depth and get a little extra flow and potentially the carbon tensioner. All things I did in my pursuit of a quiet air powered 22long with 22 hornet bc ranges.

While we are here, racecar parts. Take a look at the dnt zulus. Range finding, ballistics solving, day night optic. If you get your velocity down perfect, this optic makes you a varmint weapon. This is where mine ended up for doing 150 yard + squirrels.

Very funny you mention the zulus... I have had my eye on DNT for quite a while. I have a Rix L6 and a nocpix SLim l35 that I really like for thermaling. But I have really been wanting to try the day/night digital rigs. The onboard ballistics seems like a game changer. MY L6 has it but the LRF isnt integrated and is rather blulky and annoying with the side mount. I almost bought a thermnight 335 last week but had bought the Huben instead. Almost bought the Zulus yesterday but trying to decide if i want the 3-12 or 5-20. Almost certain on the 5-20. Yours is the 5 -20?

Daystate  Delta Wolf, how many sets in advanced mode

Not sure what you may be doing but I've had as many as 50 in mine. I decided to trim that down as it's a bit cumbersome to scroll through very many. Probably around 20 now. I've not seen an actual number on any paperwork but figured it was a LOT as there are 4 characters with 0-9 and a-z available for labels.
Bob
Are you entering them directly in the rifle or adding them in the computer software and downloading them to the rifle?

Western Airguns  My Mordax set-up

I have a pistol red dot sight. it's called an ultra dot. it's the smallest red dot reticle they make. A lot of people use it for a Thompson contender. Im selling it to get a new one. while it doesnt have a zoom the dot is so small you can use it out to 75 yards easy. You can check them out on ebay. Ill sell mine her for $125 instead of $175 on ebay

Zulus non lrf

I sold my sightmark wraith 2-16 to fund a dnt zulus. The zulus I picked was without lrf because $306 from tac-panda.....$200 less than a lrf version

I dont have the dnt yet but am wondering how big of a deal the lrf is? I'm sure the zulus will out class the sightmark unit if only by weight alone.

Somewhat excited to try the zulus!
The Lrf a big deal on slow subsonic airguns if you are hunting different ranges...I didnt have the money for new LRF Zulus but i bought a Used SIghtmark Wraith Mini 4k 2-16....Im pretty impressed with 4k image...Its small and vidoe records sound,, FFP recticles...The Zulus still is HD not 4k... I bought my used mini for $250.00....

Crosman Vapor Max?

Gamo China crosman is a non starter for me now. I'm hurt and bitter that they've stolen my love of 30 years. I bought one china crosman and it had to be returned within a week due to trigger group component failure, and I'm still really mad about the gamo acquisition and brand cheapening and disposal of certain components and tooling (as I was told on the phone)

I don't know what other beginner starting options we have anymore that aren't chinese. Their return procedure is sloppy to day the least and I sincerely hope you don't have to return anything. Best of luck

I really hope this is temporary but I am not holding my breath. I think the only good pumper left is the out of production Sheridans. I was lucky enough to find a NOS 72' Sheridan Blue Streak.

I suggest to anyone that wants a good pumper to find an old Sheridan and refurbish it or get an HW30 and be done with it.

Newbie needing your help regarding Compressor choices

Hi All!
Backstory- Stroke May 22, 2025 has prevented me from using .22 cal break barrel pellet rifle. My pump up pellet pistol is a pain with one hand so exploring PCP Pistol ( Diana Bandit). I’m not sure if I am going to Go All In with PCP as a hobby/obsession once I recover but I need something reliable and easy maintenance. I live in Florida and primary use is squirrel eradicating.

Looking at GX PUMP CS3 PCP Air Compressor vs Air Venturi Rovair 4500.

Which would you purchase or do you have a better option?

Thanks for your help! 😊👍👍

Zulus non lrf

I have several DNT Zulus on several different airguns, and have always gotten the non-LRF since I primarily shoot targets at 35 yards and rats at 50 yards, and figured I really didn't need LRF. That was until Tactical Panda's latest sale, when I picked up my first LRF version for under $500. All I can say is WOW! The ability to press one button and have my air rifle be dead on at different ranges is really nice! Is it really necessary? Probably not, but I do find myself becoming more spoiled not having to figure hold over at different distances! At the price TP is offering the V1 LRF, I'd definitely say its worth the extra cost!

I watch too many airgun videos

There are some really good reviews and those are my favorite. I can't watch the AI stuff, they're just like a long boring commercial with lots of bad information. I started watching back in the day so I could tune and repair my guns, here in the southeast it is pb country and no one works on airguns.
Agreed, there are a few good channels... a few. When I find one I subscribe to it!

There's a couple of European channels that are particularly good even if they focus on the sub-12 airguns.

I maintain my own airguns so I make a point of looking for detailed documentation and support videos from the manufacturer before making a purchase. Some manufacturers are decidedly shy about supporting the owner, some are very good, I buy accordingly.

I watch too many airgun videos

I watch lots of airgun videos as well, nothing wrong with that if it's for the airgun-pic and eye-candy. 😁

There are a few youtube airgun channels that do detailed reviews with proper testing that are really good. The rest fall into entertainment, infomercial, click-bait or more frequently these days, AI generated crap. Anyone can do an unboxing and regurgitate the manufacturer's propaganda. One or two cherry-picked groups accompanied with excuses for the fliers hardly qualifies for an accuracy test.

The hunting videos are ok and often show some nice scenery. Many of these shooters are very skilled at using top-end equipment and accessories, reading the wind and making incredible shots in a target rich situation... they are also very good editing the videos and controlling the narrative. Just notice: hundreds of pigeons and a whole day worth of shooting (watch the sun and lightning) for a dozen spectacular hits... and how many poor hits or misses? Cool to see but hardly "real world" for the most of us.

Yup, I spend too much time on youtube, most of which is spent sifting through the crap trying to find something worthwhile to watch. Seems that everyone with a cellphone is a self-proclaimed expert trying to cash in on some easy money. Often there is more to be learned by reading the comments than watch the video LOL!

Nothing wrong with watching youtube, it's just that with all the contradictory videos from dubious sources I'm don't accept anything as presented without doing some real research.
