Looks amazing. Over the last few days I have been trying to soak up as much information as possible on the 760. I grew up shooting what seemed to be millions of BB's through ours. I would strap it to the handlebars of my bike and head out to creeks, ponds and no telling where else. As I got older I moved on to bigger guns but would always come across the old 760 in my father's work shop. I would pull it out and plink off a few rounds and put it away. My father passed away in 2017 and while we were cleaning out his house I came across the 760 and it brought me to tears as it was one of the few true connections I had with my father. It was such a hectic time thatI just put it away in my gun safe and haven't hough about it till this week.Just picked up this Crosman 760 ”Power Master”. It has a April 1968 date. I shot my cousins every summer back in the late 60’s. My wife also said she had the same gun when she was a girl as soon as she saw it. It shoots strong at over 500 fps with eight pumps. I bought it as non working but I guess the guy didn’t know how it operated because it works perfectly. Cleaned right up. All original. Hardly used in nearly 60 years. Love the “tootsie roll” cocking forearm. It is fun to have an American made pump bb rifle to shoot. Brings back very good memories. Anyone else have one? View attachment 547438
I pulled it out and was saddened to see the condition it is in. It will not pump, will not cock, it has rust spots on the barrel and the black finish it worn, pitted and scratched. Luckily the wood stock and pump handle are in pretty good shape. I found the number 127 which I assumed is Dec 70?
I would love to refinish the wood furniture myself. Was curious what the best way to refinish the metal body would be as well as the barrel? I haven't taken it down yet but given the issues I mentioned before all the internals should probably just be replaced.
Don't mean to hijack your thread but seemed like the most recent on the 760 subject. I will get some pics and some other questions for another thread. Thanks in advance guys.
