Umarex  Notos cocking got gritty

I ended up tearing the gun down. I have less than 1 tin of pellets fired. Cleaned everything up, lubed it... My pins were all seated, but also easily came out, but with the gun apart the firing pin still seizes and I can see its not the pin... There was some slop in the pivot on the cocking lever that I thought may have been the issue, as without the hammer spring in, the firing pin would bind, and if I applied pressure it would release and slide.

I could reassemble, cock 5 maybe 10 times fine, then it would lock up.. I can't 100% see the issue. My guess is its torquing it self and wearing the metal, creating a burr and jamming it. I could feel burrs on the hammer spring bushing and inside where it seats it looks worn. But it binds without the hammer bushing in, so it may also be where the cocking pin slides is worn and now torquing it self up and binding.. hard to explain but if you took it apart you would understand. I just don't see obvious wear on the firing pin, and its hard to see into the channel the firing pin slides..

Waiting on some moly paste, but it may be too late, the lube they recommend is not enough to prevent premature wear. Will call umerex monday.
Contact hajimoto productions hes all umarex notos ,guantlet he helped me

Umarex  Notos cocking got gritty

I'd normally agree with that statement, but per the Umarex notos manual, they suggest the RWS Chamber lube that is 100% silicone for the "surfaces around the bolt" ...

Typically how I do oil the arm just glad umarex taking care of it finally theres also a plastic ring on the stock side of the receiver it breaks and can make a gap a pellet can get stuck in or shave a piece off slightly

HW/Weihrauch  HW - Marksman Model 40 Air Rifle. Closest HW match is . . . ?

I remember looking at the 56. Fts in the marksman catalog back in the day and thinking that was a great looking rifle, but I couldn't afford one at the time. I did eventually get a marksman model 70 in .177 which I still have, I need to pull that gun out and shoot it more. It's a big gun, like a long hw85. Mine has the rekord trigger but the rocker safety.

Airgun Shooting bench?

If you have a spot in your house or garage that will allow you to shoot out a window... try making a drop down or fold up shooting table.
This is obviously not a portable design....but when it's 102 degrees outside and 100% humidity i don't want to be out side.

The one shown works excellent... My design allows the single leg to level by screwing it in or out.

Recently i learned that if I am using a shooting bench for Bench Rest it needs more than one spindle leg for stability... perhaps 2 and probably even a strap to the floor = why you might ask? Well when you are really working on trying to figure out just how tight a group you can shoot, even the slightest jiggle or pulse or breath can move you ever so slightly off your hole on hole.. see last pic.
What is not immediately obvious by the last picture, is that the gun drilling the 1/8" squares is a TM1000X which can literally punch hole into hole at the 30 yard benched mark with no wind; unless of course the table can jiggle even a mouse whisker when you breathe or your heart pounds ....then the hole pattern looks like the one is this last pic...
Again, it doesn't matter = unless it matters to you.

I love that single rifle wall bracket. 👍

What reticle do you prefer?

Sfp with a floating dot and not much else.
Ditto. The plainer, the simpler. I’m a dialer so dead center is all I need. Unless it’s really windy I don’t need windage comp in the woods and short distances I’m typically working within. My scope is set to 8x and I leave it there.

Airgun Shooting bench?

This is what I use, year round, and I leave it out doors, year round. Its a great table, light, and if you need to move it, fold it up and move it. Right now its on sale for dirt cheap.

I have a cheap 10 dollar folding table from walmart that I put all my gear on, that too stays outdoors.

In the pic the stable table looks small but that howitzer on it was LONG haha

What's in your hunting bag?

I carry, range finder, 8x monocular, extra ammo, camo face net, very light camo gloves, water, coffee if it’s a morning hunt, knife, phone, chair or seat cushion, thermacell depending on season, compass, flashlight, firestarter if in new area, tick tool, granola bar or similar snack, Primos trigger stick.

Airgun Shooting bench?

Because of construction I've been temporarily shooting off a cheap, wobbly, plastic Walmart folding table on my porch and rear deck. With construction done and the table wobbly and sagging I'm ready to make something better. I want something with a smooth top but some grip. Concrete my preference, is probably too heavy unless I make it very thin. I'm thinking a plywood top but this will be in the weather and I'm concerned about delamination. Perhaps sealing marine plywood?
Any suggestions? What do you use for a permanent outdoor airgun bench?

Thanks
Ron

What's in your hunting bag?

So my bag very through out my hunting season. When I'm not bow hunting. My trophy line bag turns into my everything bag. Currently my go-to's are a nice cup of tea or coffee in my thermos. I Always keep flushable wipes or dude wipes. Of course need a rangefinder, binoculars and face mask. I typically don't wear gloves until its extremely cold out. A knife, secondary drink and jerky and always keep a Walmart bag for the game after there dispatched. Shooting sticks there is hunt to hunt because I have so many trees around me to prop them.
So for you well seasoned Hunters and pest control guy's what's some good tips or advice for new hunter's and for the guys that have been doing it awhile.
Be blessed and hopefully there's plenty of community engagement on this topic.

Is that a high capacity mag on your M4?

Major Leak After Regulator Adjustment on FX Impact M3 (.22)

Once again, you did nothing wrong. You could bypass the first reg and send a full 250b at the second reg and it will handle it no problem. This is the most important part of this whole topic. It concerns the oring way down inside the gun. You don’t dental pick it out. You stab and lift it out. If you scratch the oring groove under that oring by using the wrong tool, it’s game over. You’ll have a slow leaker forever.
This is important. No Mar tools and an air compressor with air blower might help.

Cape Fear Airguns east coast relief

Here we go again !!

Hello there, lol You probably don't remember me. 3 or 4 years ago is when I first came to Airgun Nation. At that time, I had a AEA357 Challenger big bore, and I couldn't wait to tell the world about my very first pcp ( 300fpe) you called me a liar and belittle me here because you had a taurus that was modified that wasn't 300 fpe. You were right to this day it's more like 340fpe. I am not causing trouble, just getting it off my chest. (finally caught up with ya) If this gets me kicked off so be it.

What reticle do you prefer?

I am a clicker, so i only use the Christmas tree reticle when changing distance and gauge how APPROX clicks i have to adjust mainly elevation but with a increase also often sideways adjustment have to be made.

Some times i get it bang on with just 1 shot, but i will at times need 2-3 shots to accommodate increased sideways wind load.

Or that is used to, CUZ i have now changed distance so often that i know going from 55 M to 118 M i have to adjust so many clicks

It is extremely rare i use hold over / under to shoot in general.

Which remind me.

Shooting paintballs at 100 M yesterday with the usual 13 gr Zan. a dove landed in a treetop way behind my friends property, so i changed to 119 M adjusted for that and did 1 shot that was 5 clicks low, i then added 30 more clicks CUZ that bird was far away.

Took a shot at it and i removed a few feathers from its tail and it then flew away.
I would have hit it if i had remembered to hold for the additional longer from the left wind exposure, i am sure 1/2 MIL or 5 clicks i think would have done the trick CUZ not much wind.

Then picked up range finder, and to my astonishment that tree top was at 202 Meters or 220 yards, shooting up at a 15-20 deg angle.

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

I see a compressor and a lot more pellets your future! 😆
Yah, looking at compressors last night. I'm on the steep end of the learning curve. Just discovered not to leave the hand pump connected between pumping sessions...the 1500psi I just pumped in leaked down thru the pump while I took a nap!
