What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

Saw this video today and made me wonder what my exposure is.
Has anyone been tested for lead exposure?

I always understood the main risk point was eating with dirty hands which I try not to do.
Check this video out and let me know your experience/thoughts.

Fyi. I do use these hand wipes after shooting.

Wash your hands and don’t eat your pellets😜

"Arrow or the indian?"

Thread 'Field Target is an arms race.' https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/field-target-is-an-arms-race.1324782/

Some variation of "the arrow or the indian" popped up in that discussion probably a good 30+ times. I recently ran across this quote and it gave me a good snicker.

"The flight of the arrow is as true as the skill and the nerve of the man with the bow." Attributed to the legendary Fred Bear.

Interesting thing about that quote is the 60ish years he spent pursuing better equipment. Obviously he was a businessman, and the parallel goal was surely to make money and have a successful company, but engrained in that business side of things was his perpetual march towards better equipment. He was granted various patents for his advancements in archery over those decades of the pursuit of "better."

Better might be the enemy of good, but I'll take better over good when it comes to my field target equipment any day for the week, and twice on Sundays.

Nothing new here really, just a reiteration that it takes "better" equipment, and "the skill and nerve" to use it to its capacity to win ft matches. Ie, those who win matches are those with the better equipment, and the work ethic to spend time figuring out how to get the most out of it (practice).

Other  thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

There is absolutely nothing tactical about an air gun and to allude to such is an exercise in the ridiculous.
I have owned traditional and the newer style guns. I love the look of a traditional PCP like the Daystate Huntsman and others of that style. I even am fond of the looks of the FX DRS trad looking version.
However, practicality rules the day for me on air guns and I have sold all my rifle platform guns and kept all of my bullpups. Hard to find a bullpup that could not be named the Disemboweler 3000 or some ridiculous model name.
I had to laugh when FX came out with the DRS tactical and stated one could use it to train for your “tactical“ firearm. The Only training that got done was the circus of clown influencers showing us how to do it. They looked absolutely stupid and proved FX’s training of them was quite effective.

What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

My thoughts...this crap comes up every couple of months.

As long as you are not eating pellets by the tin....you are fine. And even then your body will pass them with not much leeching into your system.

Precisely.

It's like one of those " Are Moderators Legal" threads 🥴

FX  FX Crown side lever pivot pin

Thanks, I will measure my Streamline pins, for future reference... it's more like 2.5 mm x 6.6 mm. I would need to drive out the pin to be most accurate.

I just checked the parts diagram, which shows 2.5 mm x 2.6 mm. Am I correct that the pin that you referenced is "2.5 mm diameter and 6.6 mm long?

FX Part Number: 19029 is what my diagram shows.

I understand that Europeans often use a comma where we use a period to denote the decimal place.

Wow, the shadows make that hole look really wild. The bore is the same, all the way around, but the light gives the impression that it is not.

The bottom has been staked by a push-type center punch to reduce the hole.
That would be my guess too. 2.5x6.6(length). I've never had a problem with the lever pins on my guns being loose but a while back, after reading about others losing the pin, I put a small drop of blue Loktite on the bottom hole just to be sure. BE AWARE, the Streamline part # is 19026, NOT 19029! (Exactly the same for my guns)

Huben  Huben GK1. My first PCP pistol

The furthest iguana I've killed thus far has been about 42yards +/- 2yds with the sightmark wraith. That was awesome for me considering this is a pistol and I have to do headshots.

What scope is that? As for the lizzards…….Nailed them!! 😊👍👍

Skout  Epoch leaking from regulator when trying to fill

If it's leaking when shut off at the bottle it should just be an oring, I've replaced mine a couple time on the old style shutoff, I threaded in a tiny metric screw into the valve for leverage to turn on/off. I was told the old style valve was only replaced because orings were being blown out from turning it on to quick. A tiny fraction of an oring can only take so much pressure, 4k takes a piece out quick. Slow and easy has been working.
I didnt know you could get Into the new air valves, but then again I didnt really look Ill have to check It out . Thanks .
