Hornets nest

Jinxed myself reading this last week. Now I have bees all over by my pole barn. Big ground nest and another group is nesting in the culvert that runs underneath the driveway. Working on flooding them out. That has worked in the past but it seems everytime I flood the little ground bastards out I end up with a paper nest on the house. No win.

Other  thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

I've only got the one air rifle, so far, and went for the classic wood look. Wood is good! But damn... it's a heavy rifle. I'm using it as a bench / range gun. I'd hate to have to hump it through the woods (not that I do that sort of thing!).

I've got a couple of wood powder burners... The Browning BL-22 is my extra-fancy pretty rifle. Everyone needs at least one lever-action! Cowboy up!

But I'm not averse to tacticool, either. It has its place. Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22. Great rifle and lots of fun.

What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

Dont care. Played with pounds of mercury as a kid. Many other “dangerous“ chemicals in early work life. Sucked 40 years
of diesel exhaust working around high revving trucks. Scraped electrical steam plant boilers asbestos covered insulation.
Watched as the power company got rid of all the cleaners and sprays and such which are now deemed TOXIC will kill you.
So now I shoot lead in my 13 yard basement. Don’t care
Played with some mercury back in HS chemistry, Been casting bullets off and on for about 60 years. The one thing you mentioned that is definetly dangerous is asbestos,

I worked as a hospital pharmacist and had to prepare IV infusions to treat some people for lead poisoning. We had some tried a business of lead recycling from old automotive batteries. He did not have proper equipment nor protective clothing for workers and they had extremely high lead levels from contact with diluted battery acid which contained a lot lead sulfates . Pure metallic lead is ok to handle, in moderation, but lead salts in solution are dangerous..
What we treated them with were other chemicals known as chelating agents, which bind up the heavy metals, ie, lead, and then they are excreted by the kidneys. Some folks required several treatments over a period of a couple of months.

Other  thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

The vast majority of products with “tactical” in their title are anything but, and are nothing more than a marketing ploy making use of a word that sounds kinda cool.

Hence the amalgamated term, "Tacticool."

But to appreciate it, you have to be a operator operating operationally.

Other  thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

I grew up worshiping beautiful, highly figured walnut stocks in shotguns and rifles. And I still admire good wood. I have a high grade Italian 20 ga sxs that may be buried with me! And my Perazzi clays gun has a beautiful stock too. But, rifles require different considerations if used in the field, so my hunting rifles have synthetic stocks, but still of a classic design. Air guns are different again. Since the barrels are generally free of any stock contact, wood movement with atmospheric conditions isn't the same consideration. So, it seems to me to be a totally personal preference. I admit that many of the tactical style stocks offer the advantage of a higher level of adjustability, and proper fit is important. So, buy what you want, and practice.

Personal Moderator Testing Done

Ok, so makes sense with shooting with a pellet. I just wanted to do a quick test indoors since it has been 110° this week.
I went ahead and sweated it out today to test outside. Results did change slightly with shooting a pellet.
I decided to test my "shorties" while I was at it.
I tried to make sure the tests were all done as close to the same distance as possible. All test shots were done 15" at roughly a 45° angle to the sound meter.
Test gun was a Brocock .22 Commander shooting CPHP pellets shooting at around 885 FPS.
Here's my setup:

Here's the 3 shorties that I added to test:

My shortie guess prior to testing was: a,b,c.
Tatsu wins.

Re-read: Help Needed Filling an LG400

Doesn’t anybody fill there pcps with a compressor?
Something like this. This is what I bought when I got my Walther LG400 just a few months ago.

RAW HM1000X ADD-ON\'S

Have you been happy with it? I read someone complaining about it being heavy, and not as sturdy as they expected.

What's your take on it? And, anyone else whose reading this that uses the Grayops rail on their RAW, I'd appreciate your opinion as well.
VERY sturdy. It's definitely worth the big bucks. Very happy with it. Well made and very close tolerances for Arca mount.

N/A  First PCP - need advice (Notos vs Stoeger Scout)

This is how an unmoderated Stoeger Bullshark .25 cal sounds at 20yds to a little camcorder. Personally don't think it sounds like this behind the gun. But maybe what someone else would be hearing down range. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Excuse the amateurish video, first timer.
