What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

Im 68 and can remember spitting lead shot out at supper when i was a kid, biting lead sinkers on fishing line and handling lead all my life and im still here. Im not saying its good for you but like all things today people make extremes of everything so they can be heard
I forgot about doing that! I remember crimping lead split weights with my teeth all the time as a teenager.

To be honest though they all really boil down to the same thing.
Hence why a high quality pcp from yesterday can be improved upon from a performance standpoint.
The accuracy is no doubt already there.

Have to say, looking down the barrel the rifling twist seems at least reasonably fast?

Then guys.
I got a second tube/tank with the gun just... it lacks that part/provision for filling the thing. Where can i buy one of those?
Or do i need to make one myself?

With a little luck i´ll be able to try the thing out in its new guise come tomorrow already. Interesting to say the least.

Other  thoughts on "tactical" vs traditional rifle

Well, I have a Crown (traditional style rifle), a Brk Sniper (semi bullpup), a Dream Tac (pure tactical) and a Wildcat (full bullpup), so I guess I like them all. If it shoots and hits what I aim at, is reasonably comfortable, and I can work on it, it's fine with me. I love all the choices, it's good for the sport. Before I had my first bullpup, I didn't think I'd like them, but an FX Impact changed that.
Bullpups are cool. I've got two bullpup firearms: PS90 and FS2000. Very cool rifles.

Other  B-3 springer

I had a 22-cal one. For the price, it was reasonably accurate with Crossman premiers and pretty good power. I think it was just over 500 fps from what I read. The rear sight would come loose, and always a concern for my fingers when loading it with a pellet. Sadly, I gave it away. I think it makes a great bang up truck gun. Built like a tank.

Remarks:
This was our third field target match for 2025. It was the perfect day to shoot outdoors with little to no wind under sunny conditions.
Pete S made significant changes to the course and increased the overall difficulty below 34 Troyer. He moved several targets to a longer distance. He moved the kneeling lane from lane 13 to lane 7. Both kneeling and standing lanes had the near target moved closer but with 1” kill zones.
After a brief safety meeting, we had people assigned squads and lanes. We had an odd number of people. So, we had one squad with three people and the rest had two person squads. We had two people shooting one at each lane and one scoring.
We had a bunch of close scores in Hunter PCP. Karen wins the class with a 55. We had a three-way tie between David F, Khoa T Jr and Stephan H. All scored a 53. The combined kneeling and standing lanes determined the tie breaking scores. David had 1 more than Khoa Jr and Stephan. Khoa had 1 more point at the standing lane than Stephan.
We had two cold lines. One was a wire extension for the string getting loose from the target and a concrete block with a target attached falling off the stump it was placed on.
Cheeseburgers with bacon and chips were served for lunch after the match with ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
Thank you for the people who helped wind up strings back to the targets afterwards.

FX  FX Crown Accuracy Issue ?

Well, from a guy with a Crown Mk2 and, at one time, 10 or so barrels, I can tell you that some barrels just don't get it. Out of more than 10 barrels I've owned, it's only happened once. I had trouble with a barrel that would shoot "decent" then the next thing you know, it was pretty sad. Changing the spacer spacing, cleaning, etc and it still only shot reasonably well, but not good compared to all the other barrels I've had. If it were me, I'd get a different liner and try that. I might add that I had two of the exact same barrels and one was great and one was not so good. Just to give you an idea, one would shoot dime size, and often single hole groups at 33 yards, the other on it's best day ever, with it's favorite ammo would almost shoot quarter size groups at that distance. It also exhibited random fliers, which at the time I blamed on the ammo, but who knows, I don't see that behavior with any of the other barrels.

Crosman  Breath New Life into Crosman 2240

You are correct... there arent a lot of options for high breeches. Which is why years ago, I bought or traded for a spacer with the cocking pin, etc, etc cut out already. Be easier to make than a breech. Fits right over the 2240 tube. Will need a steel breech though, some longer screws, and ice maker tubing for the transfer.

What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

Started casting after getting a big bore last year. Had my doctor do a base line test, then well have one done annually. They're already drawing blood anyway so one more test isn't going out of the way. More of a better safe than sorry thing really. Doctor is probably more concerned than I am.
Between years cement, fly ash, gravel dust at a concrete plant; then diesel fumes and bathing in used motor oil, plus parts wash as a mechanic; and now particleboard and plywood dust in a wood mill; then add in years of drug/alcohol use, and smoking in my younger days and I should probably already be dead from all the toxins I've been exposed to.
Doubt a little lead will do much damage at this point. However, I do take precautions when casting simply because there's no point in being careless.

You could make it into a bug gun.

Crosman  Breath New Life into Crosman 2240

Hello,
I have had this Crosman 2240 collecting dust and I was thinking about a project to upgrade it. I still want to keep it as a CO2 powered pistol, but I was thinking about adding a new receiver that would accommodate a barrel shroud. I'm hoping I can make it a little quieter for shooting in my shop. There are not a lot of options for high breeches, and they are also quite expensive. Do people have any suggestions? I have some machinist friends. Are there CAD files around that one could acces?

Thanks!

Nobody challenged your opinion they just wanted details. NO ONE said your opinion was wrong. Personally, when I read comments such as yours re: equipment I like to hear the WHYS & WHATS that formed that opinion & pleasure or displeasure. It might help others make their decisions.
He pretty much said everyone else with a differing opinion was wrong. Certainly no point in continuing. I’m most perplexed by the thread creation in the first place. What was the purpose ? I guess just to let us know his feelings and nothing more 🤷‍♂️
