I had considered loaning and the Disco suggestion is a good one. She is well enough off that I kind of thought she might want her own, especially with grandchildren. She's strong enough to be able to pump but I'm just not sure about the willingness to learn about pcp's and watch over it if someone else were to want to use it. The risk is quite high if topping from a bottle but should be fine if willing to pump.A hand pump and a basic pcp with a small air tube would be my recommendation. No real learning curve if you zero it for her and say pump to this number and shoot it down to this number. I'd probably turn somebody to whatever the most similar thing to the benjamin discovery is being made still.
Or poison.
I absorbed your parameters, but from experience with new shooters wanting to pest, I've had the best luck with "here borrow this home built crosman based pcp gun, call me when you need ammo or air" springers pumps and co2 was always too much for them. So I come over with an scba and fill it and check the zero if they've got ammo still.
I head shot them with a 177 pcp to great effect off my friends patio. The guns I loan out get 40+ shots on a fill. All 15-18 fpe 22s. I range find where they want to shoot and then zero the gun just for that purpose.
I really hope the Norica proves to be everything you want. But I can say that I have found and ordered "the one" several times, only to find out when it showed up and lived with it for a while that it was not quite everything I expected/imagined . . . .Well I think I found it that one
I don't own it yet , but I will a brake barrel air rifle with possibly better accuracy than a PCP Yep the Norica ZRS
"Zero Recoil System" The wood version .177 gas ram air rifle.
Perfect for me. No Compressor , or high pressure blown O rings ect just a simple rifle , and pellets for my little 15 yard back yard range. Yes it is the one no special holding technique just simple accurate rifle. It took me some time to find , but it's hands down the only one I need. Plus my Crosman full auto M1 , and , and my Zelos , and all the 14 others lol.
Keeps it light weightA modern twist on a traditional (looking) platform that exceeds expectations.

I have heard those Cometa are good gunsAll of my HW and Diana plus Cometa ! Charles
I have not seen any "digital" scope at any price range that even begins to compare to a $100 optical scope from Walmart much less a precision optical scope costing several thousands. Just not going to happen, ever. .

That's true. I was thinking of something less detailed, just illustrating the differences between Yong Heng, Yong Heng clones, New Warrior that includes a Yong Heng-type compressor internally with better cooling and filtering. Ditto the CS-1 clones and the Vevor. It would have to be consistently updated. Even the cs4 posted here is an old model and not like the current production. I'm sure other compressors will change as well as time goes by.
Use commen sence. If someone is selling a 2k dollar rifle and they have no feedback then it's a no brainer don't do it. But if they have alot of feedback from other well known members then you are safe 99.9% of the timeJust curious. But why are so many listings in classifieds PP friends and family? Seems kinda sketchy. I would rather have some kind of insurance on goods and services and pay fees than FAF...
is that a pellet hole in the window framePut Huma power tune plenum and regulator (set 150 bar) in my .25 cal Bullshark yesterday evening. H&N 30.84gn Baracuda's 796fps hammer spring all the way in. Went to range today and they don't shoot for s**t with any hammer spring setting. Obviously gun just doesn't like the pellets. Unfortunately only one's on hand at the moment. Good enough for plinking my 15yd spinner the my window though so they won't be wasted.

i have polished a few FX barrels and it makes a difference also indexing the barrel makes a world of difference alsoWell, from a guy with a Crown Mk2 and, at one time, 10 or so barrels, I can tell you that some barrels just don't get it. Out of more than 10 barrels I've owned, it's only happened once. I had trouble with a barrel that would shoot "decent" then the next thing you know, it was pretty sad. Changing the spacer spacing, cleaning, etc and it still only shot reasonably well, but not good compared to all the other barrels I've had. If it were me, I'd get a different liner and try that. I might add that I had two of the exact same barrels and one was great and one was not so good. Just to give you an idea, one would shoot dime size, and often single hole groups at 33 yards, the other on it's best day ever, with it's favorite ammo would almost shoot quarter size groups at that distance. It also exhibited random fliers, which at the time I blamed on the ammo, but who knows, I don't see that behavior with any of the other barrels.
