Daisy  Daisy 853c - Repeater

Update:
Spend a few hours yesterday installing a sear adjustment screw, polishing contact points, resealing, cleaning and lubing. Trigger out of the box was 6.5 lbs, with creep. Now 14 oz with no creep. First outing this morning I quickly sighted in the dot. This is my first official 5 shot group using H&N Econ II 7.4 grain. Velocity was consistent at 520 fps. First shot the four silhouettes. Four in a row were a hit. Then this 5 shot group. Both at 40 yards. I’m liking this 853c.

Airgun shooting for people with PTSD

Just go ask them. I have plenty of buddies that have ptsd as well, and they have fun shooting both airguns and powder guns. There are a few that say no, and that is ok. Just offer and don't be pushy.

People seem to think vets or people with ptsd are to fragile to do anything. Just ask and if they say no then drop it

Airgun shooting for people with PTSD

I'm sure for some out there, they would like to shoot if the chance, but they might not have the equipment to shoot or the place to go. An invite with the equipment & place would be just the thing.
Yeah, totally. If I weren't so self absorbed right now I wish that I could put some time in w our county's 4-H shooting club. Volunteerism should be encouraged

There are a lot of people who could use the social time. & there's nothing wrong w having a customer as a casual friend either. PTSD shouldn't be something that necessarily excludes a person from the activity IMO. Obviously there are risks, but there are risks within the general public too.

View attachment 577284 Happy to have given my oldest son Grant his first pcp, fill tank, pellets and scope today and I apologized to him for the addiction that follows lol. He said that he understands how that happens. Great guy to hunt and pest with and now to make more memories with him having his own rifle. Asked him to join us here on this great site and share his experiences.
I’ll be 39 in October and if someone gave me a rifle like that I’d probably be spinning in circles like an excited little dog hahaha! I hope you have many fun adventures with the whole family.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 3 slugs and pellets same tune - Have you ever tried one? Wow!

i haven’t tried yet due to time constraints. In a few weeks I’ll have time to stretch their legs (U2 .25 and .30/ U3 .30) well beyond 100 yards. We took some shots at a concrete structure at 170 yards away and the groups looked scary good. Unfortunately I couldn’t measure it but it sure looked promising.

Is lubricating pellets necessary?

I have a modified HFT 500.
Now that I have my own field target course permanently set up. I go to the range with what ever I’m up to. And always take my HFT and do a loop. This was last Sundays 84 shot loop. I missed six shots. But I am trying to hit the same spot on the kill zone paddle. So I can really how I’m doing.
Plus I am building a 100 yard benchrest lane. That will be finally set up this weekend .
And Sunday is a field target competition. So by Monday I should be able to see if there is any perceived difference or can I shoot an 84 shot loop and only miss three shots. That would be the 50% increase in accuracy that I am fully expecting based on the advertising . 🥴

A little trademark infringement. Sounds like you have royalties or a lawsuit in your future. 🤑
No, we usually send our esteemed colleagues Alexei, Sergey, and Igor. They have a very, uh, "convincing" way of pointing out misconduct.

Is lubricating pellets necessary?

I am going to find out. I used to clean lube sort all that and I stopped .
I buy JSB pellets not crosman premier and stopped doing anything but shooting.
Now I’m in a position that has me shooting field target three or four days a week. I am cranking through some pellets. So I bought a bottle of oil. And I put a new tin of pellets in a bag with six drops of oil. Rolled them around and returned them to the tin.
Now I am going to shoot both a new tin with oil and a new tin without . Both from the same batch. Let’s see what happens.

I like your idea . Six drops seems excessive to me . when i used to doo all that i used a microfiber cloth with a small squirt of lemon pledge on it to roll the pellets around in . My results were = no difference shooting,, but cleaner finger tips .

AEA  It is going to get CRAZY in the pcp big game air rifles!

Years ago Savage Arms developed a muzzleloader that used smokeless powder. It was supposed to be the end of black powder muzzle loaders.
It never made it in the market. It erased the line between short range and limited power and regular PB’s.
I think AEA will discovered the same issue.
We shoot air guns and go into this very well aware of the limitations we have. Most of us embrace the limitation because that is what this sport is all about.
