N/A  Dots, Peeps or Scopes ??

I like to shoot all three. It’s amazing to me when my eyes are behaving just how accurate one can be without any magnification. I probably have as many dots on airguns as scopes. Also some diopters. Just fun for me to mix it up. The dots amaze me the most. Pistol or rifle they are accurate, fun and easy to use. If I really want to check ”dead center” accuracy, a scope can’t be beaten. Shooting bullseye’s with a diopter is the ultimate challenge. I just set up these three Daisy’s with a dot, diopter and scope. They are fun and incredibly accurate. So, do you have favorite? Rags to riches, pictures encouraged.

MINI REVIEW: Huma Mod 40 Avalanche Moderator (Problem Solved?)

Well then, Annie Oakley, what would you call putting 30 rounds into a hole 2" across? Please deign to tell us. That is if you're not too busy stacking pellets and giving buzz cuts to mosquitos. 😉
Well. If you’re shooting 2” groups at 35yds that would probably be 4” groups at 70..which doesn’t work for my use..shooting ground squirrels out to 150yds..but if you’re OK with that I’m not going to argue with you.

Not to derail the thread but because you asked..

If I’m not mistaken, the orange circles are 3”. Distance was 37yds. Wind right to left but not steady. The airgun used was an Edgun R5 Standard (short 18” barrel). Tuned to shoot the JSBs at 895..ball park 78ish FPE. The low shots were probably me not maintaining proper hold..too consistent in location to blame the pellets as flyers. The RTI P1s I currently have shoot this well or better..and have used the Mod40.

Pellets verses slugs

I would say maybe. And that maybe is gonna cost you a good bit of cash to find out. You definitely have a good pellet gun. And some guns should always remain a pellet gun. If you want to chase slugs, buy a separate gun for that. Then when you’re frustrated, the gun is broke because of something you saw on the internet or you’re waiting on a do-dad that is going to cure everything, you can shoot your good pellet gun.
Yep, I agree. My AA S410 shoots pellets(14.3gr Crossman Premiers and 15.89 and 18.13gr JSB's) out to 75yds excellenty, but is lousy with slugs. My FX King has a 1/16 twist and shoots slugs out to 100+yds but pellets just don't cut it for those distances and that rate of twist.

FX Impact M4 rear stock holes - Will MLOK accessories fit?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone tried to see if any MLOK accessories will fit the rear stock of an Impact M4? I don't have any so I can't try for myself. See picture below. I know Saber tactical had an attachment for the M3 which isn't compatible with the M4. My only guess would be the M4 metal thickness is too thick for the MLOK to fit... maybe the length of the hole is too short too. The reason why I'm asking is I'm trying to figure out a way to mount a sling. The only way so far is to thread the sling from one hole and out the other. It is functional but not pretty...

Daisy  Daisy 853c - Repeater

i wish the C model mags had some sort of index on them, i tried to add br=earing balls with some success but not really
i have a odd duck it is a 853cm model very nice
The C model does index. Auto feed. If the two parts are still available, they would drop right in the CM model.

What pellets to order?

H&N Barracuda Match

I recently ordered some H&N Precision 22cal 33gr .218 slugs from Hatsan. I also ordered the same slugs from Pyramid about six weeks ago and Pyramid says that they haven't gotten their shipment in yet, but Hatsan sent me an email the day after placing the order saying that my slugs are on their way. Why did Hatsan have the product I wanted, but Pyramid cant get them for themselves? One note, the price of the slugs jumped after I ordered them from Pyramid. Were your pellets in good shape when you got them from Hatsan?

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

Thanks Jungleshooter. I prefer SFP, short range would be 15, Longest around 100. Ideally under 600 bucks.

Yes that reticle has a nice center dot and looks like it's illuminated which is even better.

I am looking at Midas 4-16X44

OK, good, that's helpful: 👍🏼

1️⃣ Top end magnification:
At least 16x for 100y range — better 20x for seeing impact holes in paper target.

2️⃣ Bottom end magnification — really means "Field of View (FoV)":
Your comment that your 6-24x has a FoV that is too narrow is spot-on for ranges of 15y (typical FoV of 6-24x scopes is 20-22ft @100y).
For close-range hurried shots I consider 30ft "sufficient" — but 40ft "ideal".
There are few scopes with a bottom end of 4x that will give you those 30ft.
The bottom end magnification that gives you those 40ft is usually 3x.

🔶️ Combining your top end and bottom end magnification requirements results in the ideal scope being a:
★ common: 3-18x
★ very rare: 2.5-20x | 3-24x | 3-28x

Less than "ideal" due to a narrower FoV, but "sufficient" could be:
★ uncommon: 4-24x
★ common: 4-20x (but often with a rather narrow FoV, e.g., Sightron)
★ rare: 4-32x

I attach below 2 Scope Specs Tables where you can compare scopes with those magnification ranges.

All scopes in the tables are separated into SFP and FFP.

They all have a 10y minimum parallax.

They all have exposed elevation turrets and a hold-off reticle.

⮕ You now simply go to the SFP section in the Tables.
There you find your magnification range —
then make sure the FoV is OK —
and note the price and warranty —
and if the reticle has a center dot (CD). (Please, note that only recently I started adding this info, so there are some scopes where this is not stated.)

Have fun scope shopping!

Matthias 😊

HW/Weihrauch  HW75 todays shoot .

Just did not feel like shooting a rifle today so an SSP pistol was in my eye . Hw75 .177 @ 20 yards was the ticket . started with 8.4 H&N nice as usual . thought i would try 7/87 light H&N FFT the 75 didn't like them at all . I went the other direction with RWS supermag's @ 9.3 gr developing 3.87 FPE but all landed low (which was expected .) nice afternoon shoot relaxing !
