Im a bench shooter and for me, the bottle cage is the only weak link in the Mora system. I completely eliminated it replacing it with a very slightly modified 16" Arca rail.

Marek was very kind in providing me information regarding the slash mag diameters. I inquired about this because I am familiar with CZ barrel diameters. Now Steve of air velocity sport and one or two other ballistic guys basically have a consensus that a slug should fit the GROOVE diameter of the barrel, not the BORE diameter. They, and myself have spent significant time proving this out with my taipans, epic 2, kalibrgun cricket, vulcan 3. All use CZ barrels, all share same diameters. Those generally being:

177 - we don't have one
22 - .219
25 - .253
30 - .3063

Now I'm strictly focusing on slugs, any taipan will shoot pellets lights out. So, now to the point, taipan slash mags are:

177 - 4.49mm, 22 - slug 5.52 and pellet 5.54, 25 cal - 6.34 slug and 6.39 pellet, Nothing in 30 cal yet, but if they follow the same pattern 7.62 slug and 7.65 pellet.

Now doing the conversions Marek said make slug .01-.02 larger. So this is the conversions

177 - .177 - .178 diameter slug
22 - .218-.219 slug and .219-.220 pellet
25 - .250-.251 slug and .252-.253 pellet
30 - .301-.301 slug and .302-.303 pellet - 30 cal NOT confirmed, this is just my extrapolation based on pattern.

So, what's the problem? Well based on Me and my more learned buddies experience, Taipan has undersized their slug mag, it would use bore diameter where the slug barely engages the lands to provide spin on the slug. Leaves air blowing around the slug through the grooves, affecting accuracy. That's the position we have seen.

Where I diverge from my associates is here, on a standard repeater, the slug that is fitted to the groove as we like, you can feel resistance when it is seated in the lead in. The lands cutting into the slug. However, the slash is semi auto, it blasts the slug into the breach lead in. If it is too tight, can it get caught and mash up into a lump?

I know groove fitting is better than bore fitting with single shot repeaters. But physics may require differently in regards to semi auto. Maybe the accuracy of semi auto has been affected by these requirements.

below is a simple diagram, I'm no artist, the orange color represents the lead of the slug filling the groove of a groove sized slug versus the bore only on the other. NOTE - I KNOW, nice hair! LOL!

I'm sure it has something to do with protecting a revenue stream. Probably want you to buy a tophat and bottle if you wanted to put a CF bottle on the gun.

Niksan has the rear bottle and adapter on the Escalade rifle thread locked.

Like has been said it is a balancing act between reg pressure and hammer pre load. As far as macro and micro think of it this way. Your amount of hammer pre load will be noted down below the micro adjuster with a pointer pointing at a number. That is the important “spot” irregardless of the two adjustments. You want to find that correct spot where everything is in balance. That “spot” is much easier to find using the micro as it changes small increments thus reducing the chance you will over or under shoot it. Think of the macro as just an adjustment range of your final tune when you find the spot. What I did was tune for the heaviest projectile I would shoot. Start with the macro on a high number. Top or near the top. Then tune to the balance spot using the micro. That way you will have the largest possible range to tune down with the macro for lighter projectiles. Of course your optimal perfect tune (assuming done well) will be for that heaviest projectile you initially tuned for. As you turn it down you will slightly start losing consistency.

Internally speaking, the three Weihrauchs that I've had had terrible fit and finish inside. I've had, what six Dianas that ranged from terrible internal fit to very good, like my 2015 350 Mag.

My HW95 had horrendous twang, buzz, kick and shake into well over 1 000 pellets, never getting better. My D48 also had a terrible shot cycle when new, but transformed into a very smooth gun just by shooting it in.

I'm partial to .22 cal springers, and in that caliber Diana barrels beat Weihrauch barrels fair and square. I will never buy a .22 cal HW again, while I will buy more .22 cal Dianas.

The GK1 is a small piece of solid rubber that holds the power adjustment screen in place so that it does not creep. This piece is very easily replaced in 2 minutes, but it does wear down if one adjusts regularly. With the K1, what holds the power adjustment stable so that it does not turn?

Here is a photo of the parts that make up the Huben K1 adjustment - as you can see, nothing is going to wear out in any conceivable usage. On the stock is the stem assembly that has the shaft that turns the actual adjuster on the closing spring force. You can see the base for it has 4 ball bearing protrusions that interface with the power wheel plate that has 16 divots in it. The actual adjuster that we turn simply has a friction fit to the plate, all held together by one hex screw. Very solid, and very repeatable . . .

As an interesting side note, I have found that when tuning, if one wants to set the gun to slightly more or less power than is available in one click of the wheel, that it can be done by removing the power wheel and turning the stem base (with the the ball bearings in it) by less than a full click in the desired direction, then upon reassembly the new "baseline" sill be set. Alternately that shift can be had by tweaking the regulator setting too . . . .

So how big of a hole are we talking about? At what distance? Ten meter seems to be the standard. Those guys are serious business. At that level I am sure they are all shooting pellets that have been sorted and sorted and then sorted again.

So I received my new 2240 direct from crosman. Not that happy at all.
I'm only getting 20-24 shots before the power drops off sharp.
I'm getting only an average of 384fps and 32 ES with Swarm 10x
And 412fps and 47 ES with crosman super pell.
Accuracy is nothing to brag about either.
Is this normal?
Also wondering if it was a return because it has a small area with scratching and the Co2 plug cap was only turned in about 2 turns and box not closed all the way properly.

Ideas?

That is pretty sweet. Have an Air Ranger, and it is just an awesome gun, so I'm sure I would like the Red Wolf. I've kind of looked past it as the form factor is so close to what I have, but maybe I'll have to give it some more thought . . . I've often thought that if the Huben had the accuracy of my Air Ranger that I'd sell off everything but the Huben, but maybe a Heliboard equipped Red Wolf might be a good compromise. I was hoping the new Taipan Slash could be the one, but so far the adjustability does not seem as easy as on the Huben or your Red Wolf.

I had a 167 many many years ago, a local auction find, definitely wish I'd hung on to it. It was a second variant but the trigger was pretty good even on those. The 160 / 167 is one of the true CO2 classics.

The single die go a long way to improving accuracy. Consistency in size and weight is key to accuracy. Crosman used to sell single die pellets in 1250 count brown boxes that were excellent. Of course they were discontinued a few years ago.

Pellet tins of regular unsize specific JSBs can come from different dies. JSB produces billions of pellets so they get mixed die lots in a single tin. When they make pellets for other companies like Air Arms and FX they produce them from a single JSB owned die. AA owning their own dies is marketing myth. What's not a myth is many people experience better accuracy with AA rebrands. That's because they are single die packaged and the tin is more consistent pellet to pellet.

The downside to single die pellets is if you get a tin your gun doesn't like. It doesn't like that whole tin or any others from the same lot. This is more likely with springers, that are typically more pellet fussy than other airguns. Luckily if you own several springers you can usually find one that will shoot those pellets.

There can be a big difference in Match marketed pellets but that can depend on how fussy the gun is. RWS Meisterkugln shoot pretty well in my springers. Now tins of RWS R10s, a match version of MKs shoot amazingly in the same guns. RWS also sells Match R10s in cards of 50 (or100?) individually set in a foam card for match shooters. I'm too cheap to buy those and only rarely pick up the tinned R10s but the improvement is there to be had if you want to pay for it. It's whether or not the improvement in your gun is worth it to you. Typically the only shooters buying these things are competitive shooters.

There are no competition pellets (outside of the 10-meter Olympic range). It's a matter of finding different brands, different weights, different speeds, different batches, and doing a lot of testing and taking a lot of notes.
When you find a pellet that your barrel likes, try matching the velocity to that pellet, and if it really works well, write down the brand, write down the batch number, and buy as many pellets as you can from that brand and batch. There are no perfect pellets.
If you're looking for more precision, you'll need to wash them, lubricate them, sort them by weight, check for concentricity, and use a magic wand to make all the work you've done pay off. It's about scraping a little bit from all sides, perfecting your shooting technique, being consistent and repetitive.

The last attempt was the Sig ASP20. It had a new attempt at consistent lockup for a break barrel. The only high quality gas ram that was made in the U.S. Didn't sell in enough numbers to be worth making, so...

The quest continues to put the perfect scope atop my perfect airguns.... pairing them is like finding the right snack/cheese to go with the right drink.
Yesterdays greatest discovery was how well the Maven RS5 4-20x50 in Mrad, with a second focal plane works on my field target pistols.
Also the Athlon Helos lineup continues to impress, esp at it's price point!

if you degas a PCP, or any compressed air container, too quickly, moisture / condensate can form internally - moisture related problems will occur. To avoid this, always degas very slowly (VERY) slowly, unless you want to open the whole thing up and swab it dry to remove moisture.
