N/A  Fx DRS 600 tricky

The guy from the shop show me the Donny Fly Sumo . He said this is good for DRS .He also said that moderator will help to shoot more accurate. Also i've called an old guy who is specialist in pcp rifles and he said to nkt try this rifle on that low energy (7,5 j) He told me that with my settings my speed will raise shot after shot. That is why i want to try it on 16 J after i'll buy a moderator.
The moderator willen help you to shoot more accurate?

Yea right, i think he has a percentage at every sales he makes

Are there differences in shooting in colder weather versus hotter weather?

In cold weather im shivering and ot causes me to miss shots .

In hot weather its hot and humid sweat runs in to my eyes and caus s me ti miss shots.

In more temperate weather bugs like knats , mosquito, yella flies swarm around my head and bite and causes me to miss shots.

If i shoot climate control indoors the ol' lady on my @$$ and causes me to miss shots ..

Just cant win around here ..😜
You are not alone!

Light direction and ranging accuracy

The Bisley is very secure (nothing else is needed) unless you trim it too much, then you can have issues since it's not on the scope in a meaningful way. There is a very long thick rubber sleeve on the eyecup that helps it naturally align to the eyepiece.

I'll know pretty quick that the eyecup is misaligned, i've seen people blow most of their box time trying to find the proper eye relief or to find a way to block light due to not having an eyecup. An improperly installed or partially falling off eyecup could be even worse than not having one...

I have an unmarked eye cup that has an accordion like section and its demonstrates all the issues you mention in one compact inexpensive product... I recommend the Bisley specifically because it has all the good things going for it...
My Bisley arrived yesterday, and there’s always learnings with new stuff. One thing that surprised and pleased me about it was its benefit in standing and kneeling shots. I hadn’t realized how much time I was wasting holding the gun out while finding eye relief. The eyecup must have easily took a second or two off that which might not sound like much, but it meant that I could get shots off quicker and fell apart on fewer of them.

Barra 250z .25 cal

I bought one for my daughter & had it dialed in quickly. IMHO It's easily a 100 yd gun and maybe even more. Regrettably airgunning hasn't #1 on my To-Do list, but am eager to find out.

It's a bolt action LR piece, so the slow rate of fire doesn't really bother me for this kind of shooting. Cycling it improves w time.

The build quality is impressive for the price & It's been a lot of fun.

I see it as an inexpensive potentially "Accord" of airguns.

Would recommend.

What springer did you shoot today?

The rain had finally let up by the time that I got home. I was able to get some trigger time with my tack driving, Steve Corcoran stocked HW30, .177 .
This little gem is one of several custom stocked, left hand, Weihrauch rifles that I purchased from Mr. Bear-of-Grayling. Delightful rifle. Smooth as glass. I just love the 30s... Thanks Dan!

High Capacity Magazine for Avenge-X?

Those are 1 shot less than the factory included mag. I'm looking for something that holds more rounds, not less.

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

If it's a Midas TAC series then those are FFP.
A suggestion would be to research the center dot size and hash line thickness. For example I had the older Midas TAC 4-16 but sold it because it was hard to see the reticle on low power. They might have changed it for the newer 4-16's but haven't looked into it.

People think that one can't hit small targets with thicker reticles or do the same on low magnification. For hunting seeing the reticle well is paramount. It's very hard to beat the Athlon Helos G2 2-12x42 for this price range and because it's FFP you almost have the best of 'all worlds'. If I had to choose one scope for a "do all" this would be it. I might pick the March 1.5-15 DFP but it's super expensive and the optical quality is compromised at high mag. It's more of a 1.5 to 10 to avoid the wonky appearance of the periphery of the FOV.

That being said the Athlon Ares BTR G3 2.5-15x50 is a crazy good scope because it has a slightly thicker reticle than normal/.06 mil so it works well on lower power. 2.5x is a bit iffy but by 3x one can make out the reticle decently. This is one of those scopes that came out really well. Unlike IMHO that MT 4-16 having a thin reticle.
If this ABTRG3 had true daylight bright illume it'd be nearly perfect for hunting!!!

There's the Helos G2 4-20x50 as well. Because it's Helos grade the IQ isn't up to the MT's or higher grade scopes but it's still a great scope and the reticle line thickness is .05 mil thick.

N/A  Dots, Peeps or Scopes ??

Scopes only for me. Just can't get comfortable with peeps or open sights, and I like the extra accuracy that comes with a scope. That said, I hate heavy/bulky scopes. On most guns, I've found the best setup to be a Hawke Vantage 2-7x32ao.
R
I hate big heavy long scopes on many of my rifles. A lot of you like the Hawke Vantage because it kinda falls into the compact category, but my expereince with the cheaper end of the Hawke line was meh! I decided to see if I could find some decent quality compact scopes with lengths less than 10 inches and weight less than 20 oz. and came up with these. Please see my post with this evaluation.

N/A  Dots, Peeps or Scopes ??

I just got this NOS Daisy 853c repeater. Spend a few hours yesterday installing a sear adjustment screw, polishing contact points, resealing, cleaning and lubing. Trigger out of the box was 6.5 lbs, with creep. Now 14 oz with no creep. First outing this morning I quickly sighted in the dot. This is my first official 5 shot group using H&N Econ II 7.4 grain. Velocity was consistent at 520 fps. First shot the four silhouettes. Four in a row were a hit. Then this 5 shot group. Both at 40 yards. I’m liking this 853c.

FINALLY....they came out....

I was just going to respond to your earlier post about not seeing your turret numbers —
and mow you found exactly what I was going to recommend you.

MK Machining is top notch — they use the good glass for the magnifiers (unlike others).
They have them in different scope tube sizes, even 35mm and 36mm.

On certain holidays/seasons they run up to 30% discounts.

After postponing the inevitable for too long, I finally ordered a bunch of the magnifiers. They work well!

Matthias
I need to order 3, going to do it today. I desperately need stickers,

N/A  Dots, Peeps or Scopes ??

For all of you that have never tried a dot. Believe me. You are missing a big piece of the enjoyment. I have several of these. Springers do not effect this dot. You will be amazed with the accuracy, quick acquisition, SIZE and enjoyment you will get from a dot. This one is for a dovetail mount. It’s so cheap you have nothing to loose.

Daystate  Should PCP air rifles be depressurized when shipping?

Degassing and air gun should not hurt anything at all. It happens all the time when regulators and other internal parts are replaced.. I agree that keeping some pressure in an air gun is safe for shipping. Though again the rifle should not have any pellets or magazines in it when it is shipped.

New owner of brk bantam sniper xr 25 cal

View attachment 577284 Happy to have given my oldest son Grant his first pcp, fill tank, pellets and scope today and I apologized to him for the addiction that follows lol. He said that he understands how that happens. Great guy to hunt and pest with and now to make more memories with him having his own rifle. Asked him to join us here on this great site and share his experiences.
Hey that's great ! Now,, get the truck off the court , we got a game on !! Congrats on the Bantam Sniper.
