Utah Airguns

I had 2 spinal fusions in 2012 and 2013 and gave up my beloved BMW F650GS because I could no longer trust my right leg to hold up the bike. I didn't ride for 4 years and just couldn't stand it any more so I bought the Spyder. It's not nearly as much fun as the BMW but it keeps wind on my helmet.
I have somewhat of the same issues . Both shoulders & hips replaced along w/ several knee surgeries. Just had a spinal injection last week to help with the left leg weakness/ pain issue. So definitely NO two wheelers of any kind for me for many years. BTW, I just got confirmation the Katran HP is to be headed my way . Should be a week or so till it gets to PA.

Diana  Winchester Mod 450 / Diana Mod 50 refresh.

There'll be a video featuring this rifle on my channel soon. We'll definitely see what it can do at 25 yards after running it over the chrono.
Looking forward to the video. I'm sure it'll only make me want one though.

N/A  Crosman 140,Fourth Variant?

They're not hard to reseal. Only issue is the quad seal can be a pain to get in. Id give Rick at Precision Pellet a call. He has parts and reseal kits and is very knowledgeable.

If you search for Crosman repair manual there are PDFs with instructions. Tried to upload the file but said it was too big

N/A  Pistelle x68 powerful c02 less lethal testing

not sure you posting the video is really a good idea, only because it's against the forum rules and, well I have been finding out several of our good contributing old members have been banned.. they have now moved on to gateway to Airguns forum, sad to see them leave.

I have to ask; When you are shooting for accuracy

Precision,to me is all pellets hitting the same hole. Many guns are not capable of that.So you can only shoot as good as the gun shoots. If the gun can shoot with precision then any misses are because of you,Did I answer my own question?
That is a reason many use all the supports they can ,like front and back rests,I do not believe in back rests as that takes all or most of the human factor out of it.

Here's a pic of one of the tap loading FEG guns that MDriskill mentioned. This is a FEG Telly Model LG14V in .177 caliber. An LG15V is .22 caliber.

Telly guns are sometimes referred to as "Jelly"s. I believe it started because the "T" in the logo is often misread as a "J".

Messy shot rat…

Tonight’s shot was much less clean than last night - tonight’s looked like a scene from a Tarantino movie. Same .177 Polymag, same HW110, much messier story. You’ve been warned…

All polymag headshots go that way in my experience 😂

I have to ask; When you are shooting for accuracy

are you seeing how accurate your gun shoots ,are how accurate you can shot it?
Edit: I had to re evaluate your wording. When I shoot I'm testing my consistency and the guns performance, every time. My original post is below.

Accuracy is hitting your target precision is hitting it exactly where you want every time. I chase precision now, and it's WORK. my fx guns should be on point of aim or touching it. I've almost got my 177 disco there and even my much hates aea hpss will do it within reason.

Attached Pic is a new scope on first zero and retune day. This is my minimum requirement, holes are 177 and I would consider this bare minimum at 30 yards for a squirrel gun. No, I don't consider this good enough to brag about but it's realistic.

What pistol did you shoot today

I just go in my 2nd Crosman # 38T In .177 cal delivered today…It’s like new in the box..original price tag was $29.47 in September 1976…still has the tag on the grip handle looks like it was shot a couple of time and then put away..wished they still had the paperwork for it.. I am hoping it still holds air.. I ordered a couple of kits just to have in the future days…as I suspected it needs a complete reseal job …looks like it will be a few more weeks to see how it shoots

FX  Newbie Caliber Question

Ammo is whatever your gun prefers. I hunt exclusively with simple domed pellets, I do not think "hunting" pellets are necessary or even helpful. But if your gun likes them and they penetrate far enough I would use them.

Unless you want to be able to kill larger animals than iguanas I would get the 22. Less air, usually cheaper ammo, less noise. I see people taking them with Prods, that is less than 20 fpe. Also little Brococks with short barrels. Range is apparently not long. I'm not saying that low powered 22s are ideal but if you shoot a lot around people they might be. In wide open spaces I would probably use 30 fpe or so in a 22.

Which pellet depends on what your gun likes. I was pleasantly surprised to learn my Bullshark in 22 likes Crosmans. It also likes H&N 18 and 21 grain and several weights of JSBs, however. It is not very picky. But other guns I own seem to only really like a single pellet. Most of my guns seem to prefer H&N or JSB (with more liking H&N) but I don't test other brands a lot. If you can find a sampler you can save some money but I don't think there is a good way to find out what shoots best in a gun than to try a bunch of pellets.
I agree, with a couple caveats. Expanding ammo can help dump more energy and therefore control over penetration/pass thru (why I cant shoot my .22 34gr slugs and the impact hardly anywhere they whistle off into Narnia every time @75fpe) but expanding ammo also cause more tissue damage and bleed out on a less favorable shot. That said, if theyre not accurate, terminal performance doesn't matter in the least.

Domes at the right speed do deform and expend energy too, but it took 12 jsb 18s at 900fps from 10 feet away in a skunks head and vitals to get it to shut off. I had time to mag change and use hybrid slugs at the heart and lungs that really shut it off fast. (semi auto gun, so this was in a matter of seconds)

The neighborhood stunk for a week as he had his head in a trap that didn't break his neck. It was a great birthday present. No bbq for me 😂😂😂

AHH , the Can Am Spyder enabler ! I've been tempted to test ride one ever since they came out. I've stayed away from doing so for fear of riding it home !!
I deleted my 'cycle endorsement on licence renewal to curb that 🙄. Airguns get me in enough trouble ( just ordered another Katran yesterday) !!

Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

there is no "the one" because I've discovered too many uses and one can't cover them all

A friend that never hesitates to buy new guns likes to tell me "what do you need that for?", or "you don't need that" when I'm considering a new gun. My response is always the same- "The only time you 'need' a gun is when coming under attack. I WANT this gun because I WANT a new toy." After all, no-one that reads this needs a new gun.

BTW, you know the individual mentioned above that never 'gets it', but never hesitates to GET IT when he WANTS a new gun. MoF, you beat him in a shoot-off at my place.

Also MoF, I'm about to email him the image below in order to rub his nose in the fact I just ordered a new gun that has virtually NO purpose(s); like most guns, it's just a toy. Because he NEEDS more aggravation, and I'm the right guy to provide him that NEED.

Raccoon Pellet Choice/Tune (vs plinking)

Looks like the "Stinky Kitty" is contained. Not dead? I use No.3 Conibears for Ghogs where I can't shoot w/ anything. The Farmer knows where & approves !
I don't have to deal with raccoons , thankfully. Did plenty of that at home years ago when the sweet corn was coming on & dealt with a ( presumed ) rabid
'coon once as a young man one afternoon that was headed toward the chicken coop. A learning experience for sure😲 !!
Smelly cat didn't make it, the trap made him sleepy

N/A  Crosman 140,Fourth Variant?

First, Im, new here, great forum. Ive have always lurked.
I ran across a Crosman 140,no spoon and has cast trigger,so from what i find, maybe a fourth variant.
It isnt pretty but it doesnt look bad,it will not hold air.
I have never worked on firearms, but I have rebuilt small engines and other mechanical things. Just curious if I should undertake this or find an air rifle gunsmith. I also want to reblue it, and even tho stock looks rough, I may just put a new finish on it,no heavy sanding.
Is it possible to get a peep site on it , also??
Ive done a few searches and found good info on this site and even a You Tube showing someone repairing a 140.
I would really like talk with someone on this if possible.
Thanks,
John
Im from Louisiana
