Does your head spin?

I assume bad opin ons about Chinese airguns is based upon negative experience predating my entry into this sport in 2020. These days I don't know how you can maintain that opinion. The Red Panda is made in China although assembled in the U. S. and wins 100 yard competitions regularly. It's getting harder and harder to avoid made-in-china stuff. Both my compressors were made there and 6 of my 8 PCPs. The Chinese built PCPs I own are as accurate and reliable as my one eastern European airgun and my one U. S. built airgun. I don't try to make political statements with my purchases but I won't buy things that I think will not work or hold up. Chinese made airgun products are OK from my point of view. Not my first choice for place of manufacture but definitely not on the "do not buy from" list.

Haha stay out of my head! That taipan looks so good. I’ve been following the threads on here related to it and it’s not been the smoothest role out from what I can tell. But considering the reputation Taipan has I have no doubt they will get it sorted. That hammer less design is cool.

I’m also exclusively a slug shooter. I’ll put a tin or two of pellets through a new gun just check it out but because of the wind and terrain here is all slugs for me. I like guns that can shoot slugs without a bunch of extra($$$$) mods. I don’t wanna have to buy a barrel/liner to make it shoot slugs.

I’ve seen people having issues the EQ too as it’s new. Mostly the regulator needs a little encouragement to move haha and you gotta dry fire it a lot to get the reg to settle. Beyond that it’s mostly just been playing with different slugs to find what it likes best. All the evidence is showing that it likes them kinda heavy. With the reg at 2400psi it’ll laugh the 78gr griffins at 780.. no tuning… I got the 75gr up to 820fps already too. Not to mention the magazine is actually deep enough to hold the super long boattails.

I bought mine after they did the Trigger “fix” so I’m not sure what it was like before but it’s fine now. The first stage is short and the break is a little long? Hard to describe but it doesn’t feel heavy per se.. just that it’s kinda long to pull. I haven’t adjusted it yet because it’s forcing me to improve my trigger technique.

Beyond that I’ve got no complaints to report yet. As annoying as the reg is to adjust the standard deviations I’m seeing on the chrono are Wild… it’s more consistent than my barra and that thing will do sub MOA at 100y anytime I feel patient enough to try.
Nice. Yea that karma looks nice and the reg on the Gen 2 challenger pro are like that. I have to dry for twice to clear the plenum, probably because of the size in assuming. What's the Max you can turn the reg on the karma?

Custom parts for fx

I am looking for a place, website, person, group or anything that builds and sells custom parts for fx?
I've only seen where guys are machining their own parts but don't have that knowledge, equipment or experience to do that.
I'm looking for a 3.5cc larger plenum, valve seat adjuster and a exterior regulator that fits between the tank and block.
I have a FX Crown MK2 22.cal

red dot

I have been using a red dot on and off on my Wildcat for about a year or so. I switch back and forth with a lpvo just because I get bored. The thing fascinates me most about the red dot is there is zero parallax error. Doesn't matter where my head/eye is in relation with the viewing window is as long as I see the target and the dot when the pellet leaves the barrel its a hit.

Red dots are great. I have a handful on different rifles, but for distance i wanted a better view of what i was aiming at. So I bought a flip up 3x magnifier to try, they make such a difference! I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I liked it so much I bought a second one. The mount is solid, no wiggle, it locks tightly in every position. They can be removed or swapped to other rifles without tools.

N/A  Chambers no longer shipping

BTW the big hit is the fact that the de minimis exemption on orders under $800 was ended. We were getting imports duty free. (Krales)
It's killed the cheap "direct from China" eBay stuff you could buy as well.
How will this play out? Will there be exemptions? IDK
Contact a congressman or two.
But Do not go to a "mostly peaceful protest".
Best thing to do is contact a legislator and lobby for exemptions!
Do it now before the "de minimis exemption" executive order takes effect on the 29th of August.

Tuning  Umarex M1A1 Thompson Repair

born2fly: Yeah I have been looking at the exploded parts diagram to plan the disassembly but that will have to wait, I have some traveling to do in the next two weeks; including our annual get together with my friend. So I will keep you posted.

: I noticed that all of my mags (all 4 of them0 were not catching the sliding bolt and continued to dry fire. "Referenced from above.
This was just the sear not meeting the upper "bolt" correctly; this is the real problem with the Umarex M1A1.
Cheap ass design of the Taiwan engineers. Using a Steel sear which hits a soft "white metal" cast stop; cheap but REALLY STUPID, BAD, BAD engineers.
For anyone's information, the Umarex Legends BB/pellet guns are all made with mostly cast "White Metal"
I will eventually fix that next probably with a 606T aluminum or a little steel block stop in the gun, I haven't decided yet.
One problem at a time.

Even though I have had to do some slight repair (After @11,000 BBs) My favorite BBs gun is still the Umarex M1A1 Thompson.
Yes … they’re all made of white metal. And doomed to wear out rather quickly. Fortunately we can use the existing parts as patterns to make proper replacements as you suggested, and end up with something that will last. 👍

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

I received my .25 Karma EQ today. Of course UPS dropped it off right as I was walking out the door to go to work! So now here i am dreaming about unboxing it and shooting it tmw..... Shoot, who am I kidding I will probably put my Zulus and Yokozuna on it tonight and be shooting off my front porch at 1 A.M!
Well, at least you have it in hand and inside your home and safe and not on your porch or having to wait another day to receive it! You get to go home and have FUN! Congratulations, enjoy shooting it!

Metal (pellet proof) Bird Feeder?

Here’s mine. You’re welcome to use the design if you can find a welder. You could cut the cost of building it by using lumber instead of metal for the majority of it with just a metal feed ramp/backstop to take the punishment of the pellets.

Nice, I like the fact that you can use the magnets to hang a target on it also. Mark

Fed-Ex lost another one! Just in case someone might see it

Fed ex just called and said my package was gone and to contact the shipper.

The funny part is they asked for a photo of the item. I sent them a photo of the fill probe and gauge I had ordered. I should have taken a box with my address and run over it with my car and sent them that photo. They gave me a case number. Funny part is I actually need a whole air tube regulator and the fill probe/ gauge. So today I will call Rat works and order everything including the gauge and probe over again. Maybe that way the original will show up.
The messed up thing about it, is that even with the photo, i doubt they are looking.

red dot

Up to how many yards
Like any optic there is always elevation and windage to take into consideration but I would say infinity. This red dot is a 2MOA and I mostly shoot it between 30-60 yards. I can hit a quarter sized object consistently at those distances as long as I can see it. Pictured is a full magazine (18) rounds
