Correct way to fill a brand new Zelos without pressure via a CS4-I

Do you plan to have the compressor used or stored in a cold environment? I have the same compressor and it's kept indoors. Even in the winter, the temps inside won't drop below 67 degrees. Distilled water, per the user manual, is fine for my purposes.

Really nice “thwack” on a Dove last night

Just have to say your disposition is refreshing. The world needs more of you. Especially the online world.
Thank you bro that’s very kind of you to say…. I have to say when it comes to airgun stuff it feels easy because my experience has been so incredibly positive, in theeee forums as well. It’s a big part of why this hobby has completely taken over 2025 for me. No regrets haha!

GX-E-5K1 Compressor issues

I'm willing to bet it's air in the lines. Please try that (again?) before returning it!
Just went downstairs and tried it again. No change. The fan that sits above the compressor motor (adjacent to the coolant reservoir) comes on and runs for about 2 seconds, then shuts down. It cycles like this continually. There are no bubbles in the lines - I've checked them all and see nothing. Thanks for your suggestions. Maybe it's time to change continents and try my luck with a Hill compressor after I get the refund for this one.

Benjamin  Tank options

You can also try local fire stations. They won’t care about hydro dates. Not every station has an SCBA fill station but every department does have one or more and they will direct you to whats station(s) has it. It’s Captains discretion if they will do it but most are really cool about it and don’t care. And it will be free. Plus they will fill you to 4500 PSI to give you more fills on you PCP. Your tank is the right connection for most fire station connectors unless they are running quick connectors like MSA or Survivor.

FX  FX Wildcat MK3 leak (cannot be filled anymore)

Any update? Did you get this remedied?
The local FX shop sent me a valve with a completely wrong size. The head was bigger and wouldn't
fit in the valve housing hole. I thought I was doing something wrong. Even the seat had a smaller hole.
They were obviously for a different model...
Anyway, I've returned the items for a refund and now I am waiting for the new parts from Europe.
Everywhere I asked, orientation (A) is the correct one, so this is what I am going to try first.

GX-E-5K1 Compressor issues

@LW737, did you already clear out air bubbles? Turn on the fan and water pump, then gently lift the rear up to about 30 degrees. Then put it down and do the same with the front. Then check the fluid window again. It's helpful to do this with the cover removed, as you can see bubbles and fluid moving through the tubes.

I thought my water pump was broken until I remembered to do this during initial setup. That "fixed" it for me.
I appreciate the suggestion, but yeah, I tried that as well. Cover was removed to check wiring/connectors, and anything else that would look suspicious. Couldn't find anything obvious.

GX-E-5K1 Compressor issues

Contact GX. I currently have 12 hours on my 5K1, so that's 36 top offs on a 97 cf bottle. No issues so far. Also have a CS4 with 50 hours on the clock. These things do get banged around pretty good during transit, so something is probably lose.
Thanks. I checked all connections/wiring, and found nothing wrong. I'm just planning on getting a refund and probably going to try my luck with a Hill compressor.

Really nice “thwack” on a Dove last night

Nice shot! Good on you for owning up. An identifier besides the spots (Mourning) and collar (Collared)-the Collared Dove's tail is square, the Mourning Dove's is pointed. Also the Collared dove is usually lighter in color than the Mourning dove.
Thank you for that! I usually use the calls as my first identifier. The mourning dove call is very different. Then in my eagerness to shoot I thought that shadow on its neck was the ring. Definitely the wrong choice but we live and we learn. There’s so many viable species to target near me that I try really hard to make sure I’m shooting the right ones.

Adult Collared is a fair bit larger bird than an Adult Mourning .... Think smaller Pigeon size ;)
Yeah totally. That’s why I was looking up juvenile collared doves. We have a lot of both mourning and collared doves near my house and there’s lots of fledglings about. Either way it was a bad call on my part but I wanted to post because the sound was just sooo good haha.
