Other  Low powered .25?

The more I shoot this rifle at this tune, the more I find that it is very sensitive to follow through. I usually do my target practice at 33 meters and at that distance, the rifle is definitely accurate but only if I really concentrate on my follow through. My Veteran Standard .25 tuned to 45 FPE has considerably more recoil but that rifle feels like a laser beam compared to the 25 FPE Short. With the Short, the groups start to really open up (1 cm +) once I start to get tired and don't pay as much attention to the follow through.

I have taken some squirrels with 1 shot with the Veteran Short at 30 and 40 meters so the gun can definitely do it, but I've also had some that took more than 1 shot so my confidence with this gun at those distances is not 100%.

I attribute this sensitivity to the long lock time with the JSB King going 670 FPS. I also tried the King Heavy on the same tune and got very similar results.

I'm also running the gun at very low reg pressures; 65 bars. I don't know how that affects accuracy but I vaguely remember reading some people say that higher reg pressures is usually better... I'm not 100% sure though if I recall that correctly.

The rifle is very good at the 15 to 20 meter distances that I bought and tuned it for but it's still nice to have a rifle that is easy to shoot accurately at longer distances. However, I'm not sure if it's worth to tune it to 33 FPE. 33 FPE would give the same muzzle velocity with the JSB King 25.39gr as my Standard with the King Heavy at 45 FPE. At that tune, I'm sacrificing noise and the relative safety of the lower power for closer up varminting. I can also just as easily grab the Standard Veteran if I need to shoot at longer distances since that gun spot on and much easier to shoot at much longer distances.

The Standard is actually more hold sensitive than the Short. I have to firmly hold the Standard against my shoulder to control recoil, but barely grip the pistol grip. I hold the Short in a similar manner but I notice that it's not as picky to the way I hold the it. Maybe because it hardly has any recoil at its power tune. It's just the follow through that it's picky with.

I'd like to add that I typically shoot on a tripod without buttstock support. I can probably improve consistency with support at the back but I don't want to practice like that because I don't hunt varmints that way.

Welcome brother, not sure of budget, consider a taipan vet 2 without the anti double load going new for 13-1400. If the anti double loads are not an issue for you, this is a steal. If this is too rich for your tastes, there are some other options.

Yeah, welcome.

Brocock/BRK  Need some help with a BRK atomic and hand pump

When you can’t pump it is the handle/pump stuck in the fully up position? If so I am assuming you feel pressure inside the pump pushing it back upward?? If this is the case it is most likely just the little oring in the check valve in the very bottom of the pump. It’s supposed to keep pressure as you pump from flowing back upward into the pump itself. I think it’s like an 006 oring.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 in .22

don't do it! Unless you have a physical disability that makes it hard to cock these break barrel springers, don't do it. I have the HW50S in .177 and the R9 in 22. I use those spinner targets, at 25 yds. if my HW50S were 22cal it most likely would not be be able to hit the spinners hard enuf to flip them up, let alone reset them. I'm very pleased with my 22cal R9. Which I got from Flying Dragons Air Rifles ; TUNED, for the same price untouched from other sellers. Sure it weighs a little more but that is part of the equation as to why it shoots so well. The rifle came with a guarantee too. If you have no need to be frugal, try out the HW50S 22CAL, who knows

Brocock/BRK  Need some help with a BRK atomic and hand pump

@M777, when you say impossible, what does that mean? Full body weight on the pump won’t crack the valve in the Atomic? When I ran into a similar issue the problem was with the pump. I own a HPA compressor and still handpump both my Atomics. I suspect the pump…
Yes, full body weight (170 ish lbs). Im guessing the pump is the issue also. Will likely look into it tomorrow. Thanks!

Brocock/BRK  Need some help with a BRK atomic and hand pump

If pump is acting up, clean check valve. Coby, of Topa Manufacturing Company, has Chinese handpump tear-down videos on YouTube that helped me. Might be one-way valve in Atomic is stuck, few drops silicone oil in male foster fitting, or inserted fill probe end, allowed to soak overnight, might help loosen. WM
I will try that, thanks!

Classic or Tactical? Which do you prefer and why?

I'm old,I don't like change, I don't care if the wood looks like @#$%, I prefer it over the tactical ( plastic, polymer hard straight lines and angles ) Yea yea I've heard it "But it can do this" and you can add that". But can it give you a sense of admiration,a sense of pride in owning it, a sense of pleasure in studying it. Does it draw your eye to it. There is nothing like a simple piece of sculpted wood, "every time".

My name is Brandon, and I am a retired sheriff's detective living in Riverside County, Southern California.

I have been shooting air rifles and firearms since I was 10 years old. Recently, I gave my Gamo .22 caliber springer rifle to my brother, as he was dealing with an invasion of tree squirrels on his property.

I am looking to buy my first PCP rifle as soon as possible. I recently moved to a new house with an acre lot that is plagued by gophers and a few rats behind my barn.

Additionally, I will assist my friends with their dairy farms in managing their vermin and pigeon pest problems so I believe a PCP rifle would be the best effective tool to use.
Yeah, welcome.

Other  Hand Made 1911 PCP Pistol (Tequila GUN) Video Review

This, and some good oil on the lever’s action.

Fantastic one-off pistol that is second to none in quality. Very happy with mine, and is the only 45ACP-pattern PCP pistol out there to my knowledge.

Mmm, not so much, the ONLY 1911 copy (in red above)...

The AP16 is pretty damn close too. Also accepts the same1911 grips, and yeah, looks like the Tequila Gun is a good copy. Yes, the AP16 came out a LONG time ago, so the Tequila Gun is...a copy.
Which is NOT...a bad thing.

Are all the Hatsan Blitz problems fixable?

I have seen so many videos and comments on Hatsan Blitz about air leaking, jamming etc...
My question is if the Hatsan can be fixed most of the times without needed to be turned back.

I mean lets say it leaks or it doesnt fill up... You check the release screw, you dry fire it you change the o-rings if needed and the leaking should be fixed right?
Or for example it jams or the full auto doesnt work... You do the mods for the mags (I have seen 2 different mods) you clean and relube the cocking system you clean the barrel from the lead dust you check the spring inside the barrel you lube it if needed you make sure that the full auto switch is alright and the problems should be solved or what? What else could be the problem that is unfixable?

There are so many reviews of Blitz owners that returned the Blitz because it was "broken" the thing is was it actually broken - unfixable or they just didnt know how to fix it? I mean how many of those "broken" blitzs would be fixed just by cleaning the barrel from the dust or just changing some o-rings?
I would really like some info from you on the Blitz. I went to take it apart because of the intermittent jams and I took all of the screws off of the faceplate except for the one I stripped. Would you happen to know what size screw that is? Any help is appreciated.

TANK PROS & CONS

Surprised that you were able to get an eighteen year old tank hydro tested, was there a special circumstance about this particular tank such as having a 30 year rating? Hydro testers here won’t touch a tank once they hit the 15 year mark.
yes, should be good for 30 years if taking care of.

CF Tank what and where?

These are admittedly big factors. I have 2 shops in the area, but the one that can fill to 4500psi is 30+ minutes each way, plus leaving it overnight to cool & top off. The $12 fill wasn't terrible, but combined with +/- 2 hours of driving, it wasn't worth it. I don't get the opportunity to shoot much, so a compressor still may not have been the best use of my dollars, but it was best use of my time.
Why do you want a tank? I have an expired Scott I fill myself with my Yong Heng and I like the speed and lack of noise for a fill. But I recently got a GX CS2 and a typical gun fill takes 3 minutes and is quiet enough you could stand next to it and have a conversation. I think it is a totally viable option. I also think the "extra" air filter it comes with is OK for gun filling. So you get everything you need for under $300. I paid $250 delivered to my house from the GX website. The compressor takes up less space than my 45 minute, 6.8 liter, bottle and weighs less too.

If you want to do things the most expensive way possible then get a DOE stamped bottle for about twice the price of a CE bottle and waste time and money driving to a dive shop to get it filled. It is simple and it will work, it is just expensive. A cheaper way to have a bottle would be to get a bottle with the fill set from Aliexpress and a GX CS4 to fill it. The CS4 is self contained so you don't have to mess around with a large bucket of cooling water. Up front the bottle plus compressor will be more but it will be quickly paid back through no cost refills. Or you could get an expired firemans tank and a fill set like I have.
The Gx cs4 is expensive for what you get and even on Aliexpress shipping will kill ya.
