N/A  Chambers no longer shipping

No-one's gonna' come out of this unscathed, I'm afraid. Big changes that come on rapidly, typically come with chaos and hard times. I'm not challenging anyone to an argument. I'm not even saying that these tariffs are a bad idea. I'm just saying that none of us will get through this without at least some hardship in our lives. The world is rather precariously balanced these days.

N/A  Chambers no longer shipping

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Springers are on their way out. Our age group is the only ones that shoot them. We don’t have any youth shooting springers , let alone shooting alone.

To do it right you’re gonna have to have a quarter million dollars worth of inventory. No one‘s gonna invest that because you’ll lose money in today’s market.
Not to be disrespectful, but I wouldn't be too sure about the grim future of the basic springer. Just think about how many new shooters get introduced to the sport by picking up a Gamo at their local Walmart... PCPs are typically an upgrade for some, while others move on to firearms or remain content to simply have a springer.

N/A  Chambers no longer shipping

Just did an order with Chambers on Sunday.
Just yesterday, I used to admire and be envious of your prices in the US. Wow what a flip.
I wanted one more rifle from AoA. Not sure if it would be tariffed. Already pricey, but with tariff, just not worth it.
This is disastrous. You have a battle on your hands. I hope it works out for you. Crow

Other  Shoot openings in windows

Hey all, I recently tidied up my work bench to make it a dedicated pcp/gun work station and would like some ideas on a flap open window opening on the screen. Over the years here on AGN I’ve seen some genius designs but never saved any pics. If you don’t mind sharing some designs I’d like to benefit from you all’s ideas that have made trick flap or slide open window openings preferably on the screen side
Thanks a bunch, as always

Dust Cover fo FX DRS Probe

I leave my probes in the guns, and use plastic or rubber line caps. FWIWView attachment 584533 View attachment 584534

Does anyone else hate the tiny DRS probe?
Nah, the DRS probe is ok for me. It's similar to the Weihrauch HW100/HW110/HW44 probe that I'm used to.

If you want to see a really bulky, awkward and bizarre fill system, check out the one for the Air Arms S510...

What are your thoughts on lead exposure?

I’m surprised that no one brought up Californias lead bullet ban mostly based on their state bird ( Condor) supposedly being poisoned from injesting lead bullets from game animals shot with lead bullets. This no doubt caused many to believe humans could also be poisoned by eating a game animal that had been shot with lead bullets. They must have forgot how our forefathers fed their familys with game shot with lead bullets. Law makers must have believed these ridiculous accusations. Now I question the results of testing done on the Condors found dead whether it was indeed lead poisoning or by eating pest animals that had been poisoned . A problem that has always been a Factor and is in the news today in California with high levels of these poisons found in carnivores and wild pigs lately despite bans on these poisons in most cases. I hunted in South Africa a few years ago and noticed a complete absence of vultures as seen on TV shows cleaning up after lion kills. I was told they had mostly been wiped out by the farmers / sheep ranchers illegaly poisoning the Jackels and Carakal cats which the vultures then fed on and also died.
Illegal Wide spread use of poisons in California and other states on pest animals is the problem yet the anti gun and anti hunting crowd had made lead to be this super toxic poison that if injested will kill you. I too grew up carying pellets in my mouth and spitting bird shot in my plate at dinner . I had no Ill effects that I know of but who knows maybe if I hadn’t put those pellets in my mouth I could have been a better student in school and gone on to be an engineer or doctor. Nawww.

Huben  2 things I dont like about my GK1

How about a POS to load, How about the only 25 caliber pellet I found that would not jam is the GTO pellet,

Kraz cool has had these out for a pretty long time just a FYI ( Large safety trigger)
Mike
You might have a defective gun because I have not had any jams with my .25 that weren't my own fault. I'm throwing all kinds of things in there including my own cast 40 and 50 grain slugs. Not sure what's going on with your gun but something is up. Have you sent it into Kelly?

Soren. Are you seeing any variations in your zero due to temperature? I find my zero changes from day to day. Lately we have had some significant temp swings. It’s not my scope. The Ghost is doing it with several different scopes.
@blam62 - did you ever sort out "why" on the zero changes?

Fed-Ex lost another one! Just in case someone might see it

OMG. Sorry to hear this. That's a beautiful gun, really hope it gets found. I'd be sick over it and would probably have serious difficulty keeping a civil tongue with the call center run around.
Have a lost barrel floating around somewhere where. Disappeared immediately after USPS picked it up a month ago. Totally stonewalled on the tracking, even local post office couldn't find out anything. Thankfully was a warranty replacement and company is going to get another one, but first one took months.
Have a dropbox at end of my 1/2 mile mountain driveway because it's narrow, a little rough, not much turnaround room at the house, and I have dogs. Box is clearly labeled UPS/Fedex Dropbox, with my address. Yet every Fedex driver comes to the house, several have complained about difficulty reaching it, and had to pull one young idiot out of a ditch with my tractor after he back into it.
Call centers act like lost packages aren't a big deal, follow their scripts, blah, blah, blah. No consideration of how they themselves would feeling if it were their package with a valuable, or irreplaceable item that was lost.

Skout  Everything Skout EVO and Epoch

Interesting, can't really comment either ways as to my thinking at the sorts of pressures used I am not sure how much flow comes into it, but it must for some of the aperture modifications made to have an observable effect, I too opened out the poppet aperture to 1mm, and I have noticed a decrease in shot to shot air use but nothing else, and will be getting another poppet so I can experiment further with a larger aperture, which also says that the size of the hole does matter, and while I used to know my airflow characteristics when tuning cars I am, not sure about the high pressure stuff, but its people like us who are prepared to take the risk and try this stuff that make gun tuning interesting, so well done for being adventurous.(y)

FWB  Feinwerkbau 800X air rifle cylinder

In my attempt to remove the other cap, I made a wooden fixture to hold the cylinder body as shown in the photo. The cylinder is glued to the fixture with 5-minute epoxy . It did take quite a bit of torque to break the cap loose but once that is done, the cap can be screwed out by hand smoothly. The threads are in perfect shape. To remove the fixture from the cylinder , a locking plier was used to tear away the wood bit by bit. The epoxy can stand very high shear stress which makes it ideal for this application but the glue is not very strong when it comes to tensile stress so this part is easy. I am glad that I have used a cheap particle board to make the fixture or tearing it down would not have been as easy as it was. Now it's just a matter of replacing the O rings to get back to business :giggle:

Sefic carbon air tank inside damage

Carbon fiber wrapped tanks are actually aluminum and wrapped in CF. Fatigue is what kills HPA tanks regardless of material. Every time a tank is filled, it expands then it contracts on discharge. There is always a fatigue limit before failure occurs, hence, a use time limit. Aluminum has a lower fatigue limit than steel. Adding a CF wraps reduces the expansion and along with that strength and effective life, especially with aluminum. Another cause of failure is water. Water causes corrosion. This can be detected with the use of a borescope. a periodic proof test overpressures the wank with water and the rate of swelling is then measured against a safety standard, but this test is NOT a definitive test with CF wrapped aluminum tanks.. Enforcement of these use rules fall on the shoulders of the guy filling the tank. If that is is you, you need to pay attention and inspect your own tanks. HPA is dangerous, please pay attention and take appropriate precautions.

Fed-Ex lost another one! Just in case someone might see it

I had a package shipped to me via Fed-Ex.
The package went into the hub at City of Industry but never left.
Filing a claim is nearly worthless since calling them gets you to a call center where they read off scripted responses to get you off the line. Most of what they told me was false information…like the package is on the way or the trailer that the package is on hasn’t been unloaded.
No help from them whatsoever
here is a picture of the rifle that was ”Lost”…It is a RAW HM1000X serial number 500. Has a heavy bull barrel made of stainless steel. Does not have a scope on it.
If anyone by chance sees it, please respond to the thread and I will get in touch with you
Thanks All…I hope we can get it back
Mike Manabe
Edit .I have contacted the stores in the area- Top Gun - Edgun West and Airguns of Arizona to be on the lookout

Mike

Given you have a tracking number, you need to find someone in Fed-Ex Management to ‘escalate’ this lost expensive RAW package. Easier said than done, I know.

Any chance you can contact the Fed-ex Hub location directly where it was presumably lost? Alternatively, is there anyone in your local Fed-Ex area that you can talk with directly to try and have ‘them’ investigate on your behalf? I have a local UPS store and ship stuff out all the time, as well as I often receive AG and accessories. The Manager knows the inside and out of internal UPS shipping. You really need a Fed-ex advocate ( Manager) to try and assist.

I doubt it was stolen. It’s lost somewhere hopefully. The Call Centers are terrible and will hardly ever escalate to their Supervisors. Won’t even get started here.

Keep us posted.

Altaros wins World 50M, sets new World Record

It would be interesting to see what ammo was used by each participant heading into the final round? I’m guessing not many ( if any?) were shooting pellets given the stellar reputation and performance of .40g slugs In .22 airguns.

Just a side observation…

I don’t own a slug capable .22 air rifle ( pellets only ), but I shoot a fair amount of N50 yard practice cards with good quality .22 caliber JTS and AEA pellets, and the heavier .40g slugs are just too good at 50y or 50M Vs. pellets. For that matter, this is also true at 100Y and beyond.

It’s nice to be participating in a hobby that has a great slug ammo solution for 50, 100Y ( and beyond) shooting disciplines, other than just using pellets.

Just fo illustrate an example of slugs vs. Pellets. Zoom in to the top of the 40Y Masters Leaderboard.

Mike’s Slug gun shooting .38g slugs, 200-19X, shooting 40 Yards outside at a .125” minuscule 10 ring. First ever 40Y Masters 200 score since the thread started in Feb 2022.

I know it’s not 50Y/50M, but it does factually illustrate the slug advantage, to me anyway.

Also, check out the 55Y 198-13X score with .38g slugs.

Nautilus Gen 2 1x30 – First Impressions & Review

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up the new **Nautilus Gen 2 1x30 red dot optic (https://vector2007.com/products/scrd-26ii-nautilus-1x30-red-dot-sight-1?_pos=2&_sid=2b9b7f327&_ss=r) and wanted to share my first impressions after some initial range time.

**What I like so far:**
- **Smooth zoom and reticle response:** The magnification ring is firm but fluid, and the reticle stays crisp even under recoil.
- **Excellent daylight clarity:** The image is bright and high-contrast, making it easy to pick up targets quickly.

**Things I’ve noticed:**
- There’s a brief moment after recoil before the image fully settles at high magnification — could just be a quirk of the optic’s design.
- At max power, there’s a hint of edge distortion, nothing major but worth noting for precision shooters.

**Testing so far:**
- Tried it in bright midday sun and during low light — both performed well, with the illumination making a real difference at dusk.
- Planning to run it through some longer sessions and maybe a competition setup to see how it holds up under extended use. also i have noticed that during adjustment (up an low) you should be more carful not to damage contacts which are mounted on iternal tube.

**Overall:**
It’s shaping up to be a solid performer — versatile, clear, and user-friendly. I’m curious to hear from anyone else who’s running the Gen 2 1–30, especially if you’ve compared it to the Gen 1 or other high-magnification LPVOs.

Feel free to ask questions or share your own experiences!
