Airgun vs chalk @50 yards

Just goofing around with my Beeman under lever shooting some chalk @50.... Harder then you think.
You're giving me an idea. What about using a steel tube just large enough for the chalk to slide in. Then weld it up so that the steel tube sits upright and allows about a half inch of the chalk to be exposed. You shoot the exposed chalk and get a nice puff of dust. Then the chalk slides down the tube and the next half inch is exposed for the next shot. I'm going to have to play with this concept. Thanks for the idea.

Walther LG400 Field Target questions

Did you ever get that lg400? I ordered one but it showed up with a broken stock and butt plate so I’m waiting for them to ship me another one so I haven’t got to try it out yet, super anxious waiting for the other one to come. Just want to know how it went.
Yes I did. I got the ten meter target version rather than the FT version though. I've had it since about March and I don't think I've stopped smiling. It is a terrific rifle. I shoot it just as much at silhouettes with a scope as I do at ten meters with the aperture sights. Both techniques are really fun. Even at the low power level it will smack those rams at 45 yards and knock them right over. A strong wind will make things very interesting though. :)
I'm sorry to hear that yours arrived broken. That must have been really disappointing when you opened that box. Did you order the FT version or the Ten Meter version?

Taipan  Taipan Slash

I have typically purchased all FX rifles besides my Texan and Edgun L. I was rebuilding another regulator for my MK 2 and then working on the valve on my Panthera when I read about the Slash.
I called Tony at Talon Tunes and he convinced me to try the Taipan and that I would love it. I received it yesterday in .22 and initial thoughts are outstanding. You do not need a moderator on this in my configuration: can’t speak on other caliber’s. Build quality is such that when you pick up the rifle you realize this is top tier.
I haven’t run the bottle down to see shot count as of yet. Magazine is wonderful. Easy to load and shoot. With both slugs and pellets neither had problems finding their mark. I shoot 50 to 90 yards in my back yard, mostly woods.
Semiautomatic works wonderfully and I love not having to move my hand to load another pellet. More to come on this I am sure.
Which version? barrel length tactical, standard etc. Good to see you're enjoying it so far. You're right about build quality... not too many are close out there in that regard.

N/A  New pcp air rifle.

I will be shooting target and hunting..from mice to white tail deer and hog and it needs to do all I can spend 5k but not 20k I'm thinking a 30 cal. I could be wrong but think fpe for deer in my state is 250.
So you you want a gun that is good for mice (4 FPE) to deer/hog (250 FPE).
There is no single gun that is capable of that... You need to consider two guns. Get a .22 cal that can be easily adjusted and a .357 and up in caliber if you are wanting into the 250+ range in FPE.

RTI  The Mora does it again.

Today at the a Southern Ohio Negional N50 match held at the Fairfield Sportsman's Association range, the RTI Mora put up some impressive numbers, easily winning the day.

A bit of badly needed redemption for me provided by the most accurate, consistent and dependable gun I've owned to date.

Rochester Brooks results August 16

Set up the course yesterday with Doug Rogers, was calling for 89 today with light breeze. Got to the club at 8 to set up the practice range, people started rolling in and helped set up, which was greatly appreciated. Had Glenn and Nathan Thomas show up which was a nice surprise. Was about 70 degrees at the start at 9:30 and 85 at 12:15pm when we finished, winds were moderate at 5mph with slight gusts to 10, sometimes switching to our backs. We had one new shooter David who used my seat and borrowed some sticks, hopefully he will be back. High score of the day was Greg Shirhall with a 48 in Hunter Piston. Had 3 cold lines that were resolved quickly. For people who have shot with and know Doug Rogers, he went into the hospital today with health issues, please keep him in your thoughts. Results are as follows.

Lets see those pistols turned carbine!!!

Added one to the fold.

Got as a pistol from Air n Gas Man (with airtube extension). Got real lucky finding an old/obscure Steve Corcoran stock. And a good friend turned down a HW30 barrel for me.View attachment 586659

Nice!

Tony at Talon Tunes

Another great experience with Tony. I was on the fence of switching from my typical FX to the Taipan Slash Tactical.
Received the rifle yesterday and finally got to give it my full attention; what a rifle the Slash is. Tony got it all setup for me and his numbers were spot on. I am shooting the NSA 24.8 slugs and JSB 25.39 pellets. Pellets are going right at 889 to 895 and the slugs are going 903 to 909.
Thanks Tony for a quick turnaround and the guidance to get me to look at other manufacturers!!

A real treat for Sheridan lovers!

Tell me about your scope mount set up, pretty please!
yes I think its the same as Bakers. -- here his link

... Weihrauch HW100 Bullpup Carbine .22 ... who has one?

If weight is an issue , I’d suggest the aluminum tubes available on eBay. They ship from the UK but are drastically lighter than the factory units. They also sell complete but I find the ends to be of lesser quality. Should mention they do have a few lengths available also , you’ll just have to take a few measurements . I went with the FAC 390 mm lots of shots in either .177 or .22

Theoben  Theoben Parts....??

i have thoughts about that , if you take all the money out of selling hard to find parts " soon they wont be a complaint about price but a complaint that no one sells them any more ! parts will dry up if you dont allow them to make a buck , shipping is work as well as a expense . last time someone wanted to trim everything out of my job i thought about what it took to do the work and what i would make and decided i had other things to do
