Eating what you hunt and lead poisoning

Folks have been putting food on the table for many, many years using lead. I would bet that there is way more risk of dying in a car crash.. but that don't stop us from driving them. Gotta get there and ya gotta eat.
I would venture a guess that there are alot worse things that we let into our bodies and just don't think about.

Newbie needing your help regarding Compressor choices

I have the Xisico version of the CS3e and I'm very happy with it after 2+ years since getting slightly used for a couple hundred bucks. I've done general maintenance twice since I got it following instructions from Target Forge. I use food grade green grease.
I only fill guns directly with it and have a Yong Heng to top off my tanks. Both compressors have severed me well.

Cure to the illness?

I probably went overboard buying pellets early in my PCP-era. I wanted to try every varety, and if you look long enough you realize, there's a lot of varieties out there.
It only gets better…. Define better ahead of time

The owner's manual Page 2 under Directions for use: 1. Machine test, Attention: <cuation symbol> 1. Note - describes adjusting the "Safety Valve"

This video shows how to adjust: https://www.bing.com/videos/rivervi...B3C0975A101DF9370B60B3C0975A101DF&FORM=VAMGZC
Awesome! Thank You for this 😊👍👍

Eating what you hunt and lead poisoning

Hello fellow airhunters,

(I am dutch so please go easy on my spelling and Grammar :))

It might have been discussed before, haven't found it though... I have a question about lead in the quarry that we hunt for food. For example, wood pigeons. Of course, if the goal is to eat it, you'll allways go for a headshot. But what if you hit it in the torso (heart/lung shot), is it stil safe to eat it? Clearly this depends, among other factors, if it was a pass-through and if the projectile staid in the body, how much it shattered. Of course it also depends on how frequently you eat airhunted quarry.

I am not so much looking for opinions, but more kind of knowledge-based answers. Maybe you guys can point me to some useful articles?

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts in advance and kind regards from the Netherlands.

RAW Rapid  Need Help - RAW Micro HM1000 - Acts like not regulated

So Ive emailed and called RAW, been waiting days for a return email or call. Kinda sucky.

I just need some ideas.
Micro, HM1000 acts like its not regulated in the sense of I can adjust the hammer spring, get two to three shots consistent then it starts to climb in velocity. Ill readjust and repeat this process over and over. Ive put new orings on the reg and cleaned up the bellville washers and same result.
Ideas on what to check?
Ill fill to 200bar and run it down to 150. Ive wasted one crap ton of pellets chasing this thing.
is this a brand new rifle?

No one warned me this was hobby was so addictive and the bunny hole is deep enough to not have a bottom.

Chris,

you're already learning some of the great thruths thay bind us all.

Yes, the airgunning "bunny hole" you call this so endearingly is indeed of surprising depth and width! 😲

Here's a photo to appreciate its dimensions:

FUN. The Airgun Hole -- So Deep, So Wide. #02b. Mirny Mine, Russia, 1,700ft deep pit swirl, 3,...jpg

Congratulations on your excellent progress on your way down there. 👏🏼

Some people start with climbing down the airgunning hole, others slide into it — you however have achieved an early free-fall. 🆒
Just wait till you reach terminal velocity. It's fun!!

AERON B96 5-Shot Magazines ?

Thanks for the input Marflow - I have neither the 5-shot clip nor the single-tray. Too bad Magic could not continue to offer the copies along with a liability disclaimer (or similar) to be signed by the buyer to relieve Magic from any and all liability; I know I would readily sign such a form.

So, from what I understand, I am dead in the water ... or at least the B96 is. lol.

+Your first PCP is a great start, easy enough to hand pump, it can shoot pretty accurately,if you buy another PCP without thinking, you would be a da.Use what you have until you settle down...... There are so many choices, plus different calibers...think and plan, study and become informed. In the meantime save your money..................for your informed choices.

Veteran Short .20

A very old thread, it was fun to read through it again.

I'm still enjoying the heck out of my Shorty Veteran. It's still a .20, and still in the aluminum chassis stock, but I changed out the grip. Here is what's on it now.

Took a bit of Dremel'ing to get a non flat top AR grip to fit where a flat top is intended, but it worked. I tried once before and ended up ruining that particular grip. Learned some lessons from that and was successful in this attempt.

Decided the gun just needed used after the grip upgrade, so took it with me to kill time during my son's soccer practice. Dropped him off and headed to a dog town....killed 11 with this gun, out to about 70 yards.

Had some exceptional conditions right before dark and decided to shoot some groups on paper at 55 yards. This is from stool and sticks. .20/13.73 @ 805fps.

Five shots...

Yep, impressively accurate little gun. It's had a lot fo shots down the pipe, and will have many more in the future. I REALLY enjoy this one.

FX  What causes regulator to be same pressure as the rest of the air tube?

A regulator doesn't close when the tube/bottle pressure falls below the reg set pressure...so tube press=plenum press in that case

Maybe the former owner turned the set pressure all the way up to the 200 bar ?
Thinking to actieve max power by doing that?
(A lot of People seem to have not a clue what they are doing)

small change that someone woud do this this or if it's even possible to set it to 200 bar ...but you never know and would be worth a try to lower the set pressure before ordering new stuff
by the way these New amp regs are just fine ( i own a crown and adreamline) . No creep at all

Taipan  Taipan SLASH Review (World's Top Semi Auto Air Rifle)

I do have 6

I actually do have about 60 guns. Those were the only ones I could fit in that cabinet. I still have piles of guns in boxes. But I do sell most of them which is why I only have 60. Rick Rehm Shooter 1721 had 280 guns, 2 years ago. He probably has about 350 now. In about 3 weeks I can do another Slash video and shoot it properly at 50-100 yards.
Def can’t wait for that. This video honestly was yeeeah…everything shoots well under 40 yards. Looking forward to it getting stretched out.
