Hatsan  Factor Sniper Long

Of course i did.
Hatsan, for whatever reason, have come to restrict these at the barrel entry and the valve body fwiw.

My critique is mainly practical TBH. If yours is on the money, more power to you. As stated in turn, accuracy is the one thing NOT an issue. It shoots very well, and having ironed out the issues that i HAVE had i use it loads on the rats - even long range.
I´m currently tossing either 40s or 42s (hollow point slugs of course) to the tune of 1000fps+ and then some. Shoots light out on the scaly tails no matter the range really.

However.
There´s several of us that have arrived on about the same thing as far as these units, so i´m very far from alone. Hatsan can no doubt do better. For instance, that reg creep... why?
In turn the external adjustment of the regulator, that in essence falls apart as you even look at it? Why?
Mine wasn´t even put together correctly out of the box, and "sending it back" in this case means that you won´t see the gun for at least 6 months knowing Hatsan. Both the design and the materials involved for that reg adjuster are sub par, it´s that simple.
..and that list goes on.
So no. I do not find the SL a worthwhile piece for those not in the know as they no doubt take work to become all they can be.
Powerful, with a bit of porting and so forth, most certainly. Accurate? Absolutely.

But now i need to pick that regulator apart and polish its innards. As is i have to dry fire like 4 or 5 shots to GET that accuracy. That sure isn´t the way it was intended, and the thing here is that although the SL isn´t an overly expensive piece of kit it sure isn´t budget or entry level either.

If i compare to my Reximex Meta Premium (which by any measure is also as Turkish as they come) it might be the SL can be had more powerful (dunno, haven´t come to dwell on that, yet) but the difference in design and build quality is like night n day.
The Meta is more compact, things actually WORK right out of the box and it features quite a few smart solutions.

Hatsan has, at least as far as i´m concerned, always been known to carry a lot of "motor". No argument there, and what´s more as such Hatsan on a general whole is more budget oriented guns.
Well.
When they now try and market themselves as that they´ve regrouped and the SL is presented as it is.. No. Just no. Not even close.

That is NOT to say that it´s a bad gun.
It is to say that it, IMO, was put into market like a year before it should have been.

AEA  Aea terminator

Do you say that based on personal customer service experience or known general build quality issues across any/all product lines? Or any other particulars? I’m genuinely curious. They just seem more in AEA price tier which aligns with my budget. Thanks.
I’ve bought a few AEA/Bintacs. Build quality is mostly good. Service was okay. I plan to purchase another. Main attraction of their products to me is that some are quite unique that almost nobody else sells. I converted their Zeus to a 12 gauge shotgun. I didn’t care for the S45. No one else makes a tactical gun like the T9/T50. I sold the T9 because it wasn’t powerful enough. The T50 will solve that. It’s the one gun I could use in self-defense scenario capable of putting down medium/large target

N/A  Webley Longbow wood.

That is a remarkable transformation, well done.

Thanks for sharing the process as well, it should serve as motivation.
You should see the next coat. Only took a few minutes. Satin but shimmers from within. A golden glow emanates from under the brown. The fiddleback figure plays "find me". Now here, now there. I’ll video the stock when finished. Best way to show the chatoyance.

Recommended to me by Griffin and Howe stock builder. Dan has taught me a thing or two.

Hatsan  Hatsan Blitz 777 (Refined Semi/Full Auto Beast) w/ 180 shots per fill (Video Review)

What can you tell us about the trigger, Nate? Is it comparable to the Velox trigger or is it heavy like the other Hatsan semi-auto/auto guns?
It’s heavy like the Invader. Really sux for semi-auto. It’s not nearly as bad in the full auto mode

Issue with GX Pump Air Filter

Today I went to fill an airgun and while the pressure was building according to the gauge on the compressor, the gauge on the gun was not moving at all! At 100BAR, I stopped the compressor and released pressure using the bottom bleed valve on the compressor.

I thin removed the GX Filter and just used a regular in-line filter and it filled the gun just fine., so it's not the gun, it's the filter!

I took the filter apart and everything looked fine, I tore down the top end, and it has a stack of belleville washers in the top of it that looks as if it must somehow regulate the output, but why would it be preventing air from exiting the filter?

Anyone else have this issue? Is this normal, and I just need to let it keep building pressure, or is something wrong?

Thanks...

Hatsan  Hatsan Blitz 777 (Refined Semi/Full Auto Beast) w/ 180 shots per fill (Video Review)

I managed to get about 500 shots with.25 cal 34 grain pellets before it acted up. Now doesn’t matter which magazine I use, it hangs every 2-3 shots in full auto. I sent the gun in twice and Hatsan claims they can’t replicate the issue. They are using their own brand of pellets that weigh approximately 25 grains. I’ve ordered some to see if it makes a difference. I’ve owned a few semi-auto air guns from 2 different manufacturers and all had cycling issues. Some pellets worked considerably better than others. After talking to reps from several companies, it seems these type of guns are tuned for very specific barrel lengths and very specific ammo types and weights. Has to do with the back pressure and it seems changing anything can cause the bolt to fail to fully cycle. I tried messing with the magazines and it made no difference whatsoever

Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

For me Beeman R8. Relatively light weight, extremely accurate, easy to cock and fun to shoot. No fuss, no muss and very little maintenance. My CO2s, pumpers, and high powered springers mostly gather dust these days.

looks good!

Air Arms  AA S510 AIR LEAK

well, all sorted now, on inspection found regulator seal to have been subjected to smearing through possible air friction/heat combo.
purchased new reg and dropped in, all good and working, not sure if its worth repairing the old one as a spare or not.

Martin.

Yeah, OK Waze will be the old regulator. You never know you might need it and it’s always nice to have it. You’ll learn how to replace those tiny little seals. Yes, my two cents.

Pellet testing on pests?

Whatever it takes to get clean kills I suppose. But to give myself a frame of reference I started comparing cross sectional area damaged versus bigger animals where I had at least more opinions if not data. I forget the exact area equivalent between squirrels and deer but I remember a 177 hole in a squirrel was within the range of what most consider acceptable for deer. And experience says it works fine. On that sort of basis even a 177 hole would be overkill on a chipmunk.

The two hole thing is to replace the old way AA designed the fail safe feature. Put too much air in the old tubes and the tube's end would flare out an release the pressure. You had to replace the tube after that...

The new system just kills an oring.

There is a passage that allows cylinder air to bypass the reg to reach the gauge.
