Stock in letting.

Stick with the washer and use a file to create a burr, sharpen it like you would a card scraper. You may need to play with the angle a little, I’d start at 85* or so. A section of dowel with sand paper glued to it could work too.
I won't discourage op from trying this, but grade 5 washers don't hold edges as a scraper for too long in poplar or basswood (experience). The phrasing you used for a burr will probably be the most productive cutting method over a beveled edge. Hammering a burr to fold over the corner of a washer would make a relatively effective scraper.

Theres always creative use of a drill motor too.

Is the goal to hog out a from scratch stock or free float an existing one? There's cheater workarounds if its free float.

Umarex  Zelos bottle mod

Considering a Zelos as my first PCP but I don't like the aesthetics and would like more shots anyway. Couple of questions.

1) I know several people do or have made bottle conversions but what's the current best option in terms of quality and cost ? Should I get the adapter from a reputable source then get an e-bay bottle ? Thinking CF bottle instead of aluminum for weight reasons.

2) I'm thing a smaller bottle, 400cc maybe less. What can I expect in terms of weight gain ? I'm after high shot count and low weight. I'm thinking that a bottle option, even a smaller one, might allow enough air to move up to .25 cal.

3) Should I just buy a bottled gun instead ? I see the Snowpeak M60B is exactly what I'm trying to do but AAF's site notes 55% price increase due to tarrifs. Am I reading that right ? I really like what the FX Dreamlite bottle offers but it's significantly more expensive and getting hard to find for some reason.

Sorry for re-hashing Zelos stuff that is in other threads - I've read most of them - but most seem to deal with very large bottles which is not what I'm after. I know much of this is subjective but I'm open to opinions from you experienced folks.

Thanks.

Stock in letting.

OK could,nt take a round washer that just goes into the stock that you took the barrel out of.Sarpen the washer all the way around and put a shaft and a handle on it and start drawing down the new wood stock until it fits?were talking about 30 to 40th.s NO i don't have a router table with a fence.
I've done the router (not an option)

I've used a table saw to rough out straight channel and chased it with a dowel or piece of pipe with stick on sanding pads for a random orbital sander.... Or strips cut off full sheets. It's a ton of work.

Making your own router table out of mdf isn't hard if you have a router..... You just remove the base plate and screw it under a home made table with a fence I just woodscrew down after some thoughtful measuring and pencil layouts on the deck of the table.

I've stuck them in the vice on my manual mill and used the mill for it rather nicely as well.

If you want to try the washer draw knife and . 0015 material removal per pass you can probably keep it straight sand paper and a dowel was fast enough ive done it twice for whole channels and many times to just free float bbls.

I'm a professional finish carpenter but I've been messing with stocks most of my life armed with a rod of appropriate dia and sand paper.

Beeman  Crow magnum .20 inbound

The cocking shoe was most likely damaged by someone trying to cock the gun out of the stock.
The seal tells me it is an early MK, and the lube was probably Moly. That is the only lube that you should use on seals of those guns.
Later MK's used easily replaced O rings and didn't suffer from the seal burn of the earlier MK's.
If you can get that seal, please let us know where, the last I heard of were made in Australia and one guy bought them all.
Good luck

Is FFP or SFP More Frequent? — At what Magnification Range?

The FFP is a great concept for hold over shooting, but I’ve yet to find one that the reticle is useful at low power. Essentially, a FFP 5-25 is really a 12 or 15 to 25. If you can’t see the hash marks at low power, the low end of the variable power is worthless IMO.

If I purchase new glass in the future, it’ll probably be SFP.

What pistol did you shoot today

Today was a fun day…nor including work that skunked…took out the least expensive pistol in my arsenal but it is one of my most enjoyable to shoot..it gets almost 80 shots per cartridge…My Crosman 357 Magnum in .177…played some Dirty Harry Today….Are you feeling lucky….”Make My Day”.…lol…the ones that missed were actually pimples for the real effect…lol

I hope you remembered to count all your shots... 😎

DEW POINT

Glad to see I'm not the only one having hell trying to land x's in hot dead wet air. Hope you get it figured. I've put a fan on my gun when i sit it in the Randolph, if i don't the glass sweats. Gun is 70 degrees, and the inside of my shooting shed is about 120 when i open the doors. Without the fan, the gun will start dripping condensation like a glass of tea.

Tuning  Regulator pressure VS Hammer Spring tension

I have always seen that hammer spring and regulator setting have to be balanced, but what if your gun doesn't have an adjustable hammer spring but has an adjustable hammer throw like my Daystate Revere?
Then obviously, my friend, you have the wrong gun.
