Tuning  Regulator pressure VS Hammer Spring tension

They go hand in hand it's kind of tinkering device I have a couple of Crowns MkII and tinkered way more than I should the main thing is to remember what the original setting was so you can return to factory setting. You can actually increase the reg pressure and leave the hammer spring alone this will cause the hammer to be to weak to depress the valve to release the air and it will decrease your speed in more ways than you want. As far as shot count if you have your own compressor it doesn't matter, even wasting air doesn't matter its personal to each there own. I found that the reg about 110 and then I started with the hammer spring cranking it up and I was able to get 32FPE out of 22 Cal 18grain pellets which were rolling and pellet on pellet at 40 yards. Then I switched the gun to 177 Cal, and it was too much pellet flight was terrible, so I took the gun back apart and cranked the hammer spring back to original and I tinkered with the speed till the accuracy was pellet on pellet. In my opinion the amount of air used, and the speed doesn't matter accuracy is my key and that the only thing that matters.

Are glass optics becoming obsolete?

Pretty cool, but for context I was making first round hits on moving ground squirrels at 400-600yds back then. How many rounds did it take to walk your hits in on those big steel plates? Not trying to take anything away from your videos, they are certainly impressive.
“first-round hits on moving ground squirrels at 400–600 yards.” Impressive—if the squirrels were politely holding still and waving orange flags. Let’s pull apart the ballistics vs. bravado.
Let’s say you’re shooting a 6mm slug at ~2950 fps:

  • Time of flight to 600 yds: ~0.75 sec
  • Squirrel shift in that time: 6–12" sideways
  • That’s enough for it to walk clean out of your kill zone mid-shot. Just 3 mph crosswind = ~6–9" lateral drift. Add in mirage and you’re aiming at a blurry blur trying not to breathe too hard.

    What It Would Take

    • Sub-MOA rifle with confirmed dope
    • Spot-on wind call and environmental readings
    • Predictive lead on a squirrel’s movement
    • Perfect execution—all in less than 1 second
Consistent first-round hits? Doubt it. One-off? Maybe—with luck and a squirrel that forgot how to squirrel.

Bottom Line: If it happened, it was one for the books. But for most of us in the real world—it’s a great tale, not a viable tactic.

Air line restraints- chokers

curious....is this what you are referring to?
No, nylon net. Like I said, doubt it will do much.

The cable ties would be more effective than tie wraps. But one end of the hose needs to be free. Basically just trying to keep the hose from whipping too hard. Absorb a lot of energy at the start.

Ive had a hose fitting let loose at 4000psi. It was exciting.

What did you do airgun related today.

I fine tuned my new scope wheel and dope card from 10 yards to 20 yards. I did a ruff in every ten yards last Sunday. But I repaired my leak and it has held 200 bar now for two days. So I just shot every yard from 8-18 to make sure it is OK after reassembly.

Umarex  Zelos bottle mod

I found firewalker on here but don't know if I can pm him yet until my post count gets up. If I shorten the barrel (good info on the choke removal , I didn't think of that) I'm contacting him. Just found an adapter by C88 machining that looks good as well as the bottle off Amazon that someone mentioned. I see now that these parts are round so clocking the adapter may be a non-issue. Really considering this outfit, wish I'd been able to buy the one from the classified here before, that was a deal. Thanks for the info, I'm starting to make sense of it.

Optics  WTS PARD NV007SP-LRF 940nm with extras - $325 Shipped CONUS **Updated and Reduced

I have a lightly used PARD NV007SP-LRF 940nm IR clip-on scope that's in near perfect condition. I used it a few times but then went to a thermal so this isn't getting used anymore.

* Built in Laser Range Finder
* 940nm IR lamp is essentially invisible to the naked eye

The scope is stored in an aftermarket hard case with foam cutouts. It includes 2 scope clamps and 3 sets of plastic scope clamp spacers. There's a roll of black electrical tape to protect the scope surface if necessary. All paperwork is included along with spare o-rings and allen keys. The original PARD 18650 battery is included.

I can include some additional 18650 batteries if it will help seal the deal!!

I have the 109.00 tuxing fiber glass bottle off Amazon on mine. Also have the hueban cricket bottle adapter with the regulator so I can fill to 300 bar. Greatly increases the shot count. The Huben cricket bottle adapter was purchased from hajimoto productions after the tariffs . The other I purchased directly from hueban before the tariff. One for my 22 and the other for my 35 zelos

Head shot thread

40gr take aim .25 at 815. Heard something messing with my gutter. And of course. Nibbling the same spot several others have. Any pest exclusion people know if this can indicate something. Airflow or some type of scent ?

Squirrels will mark their territory by gnawing rubbing their cheeks or urine. They may be trying to take over others territory or if you take one out, the other one moves in.

AEA  No more challenger standard????

Yeah, I'd like to see about ordering another valve pin and some o-rings just to have them for the future. I haven't found anyone with the pins in stock, but I should call and see if they can order any. Fox Air Power has o-ring seal kits (for a pretty high price), but I guess it might make sense to just bite the bullet and order a set. It would be nice to have a better diagram of the guns with all the parts called out and seal sizes listed.
Which is why I have various assortment kits of orings. I have a lot of guns using different orings so I try to cover the gamut. Occasionally I encounter an oddball and have to pay a premium.

Pull the oring, measure with calipers, replace the oring.

Hardness can be an issue, duro 90 is a bit less available and not in kits. Mostly duro 70 or 75 in the kits.

The C88 Machining adapter is well received. it comes with shims to get clocked.

Zelos is regulated so if you stick to the max 3650psi no additional parts required.

If you want to use 4500psi in the bottle then you need a Zelos regulator from Huben Power and you do not need the above adapter.

NOE Bullet Molds, Al's Retiring

Well, I had to go order another mold from Al. I need a little heavier .357 for a new-to-me Extreme Big Bore that'll be here on Monday. My wife is going to shoot me with it when she see's the credit card charges for the month!! Oh well, I guess we all have to go sometime.... :).
