N/A  Ok serious off the wall question

If you were able to have an unlimited amount of money and you can go to any factory and build their new air rifle or pistol, which company and what would your idea be. I’ll go first.

I would build an FX. I would take the King And make it bull pup. Take the King, M4 and the Leopard and make a child. I would take the Kings block and over the barrel plenum and integrate it with a Leopard but able to customize it like an M4. Have a magazine the size of an M4 and be able to load the weapon like the M4. Be able to go from .177 to .35 caliber. I would use the quick tune system MAYBE the valve tune system but honestly the quick tune does the job pretty well for fine tuning by itself on the M4. I’ll make the trigger guard like the M4 for attachments. Cocking mechanism like the M4.

I know I know “Why not buy the M4” I like the simplicity and block and plenum as the King with the customizable abilities as a M4 and a bull pup. So what would be yalls builds?

Quietest, and most accurate

As others have stated, you really can't go wrong a Marauder as a first PCP. Inexpensive and reliable. If sound is an issue it can be suppressed.

FWIW I have springers too. There is far less paraphernalia w springers so subsequently it's less expensive and simpler if that's what you're after. Honestly it is sometimes, so that's why I have one. The flipside is that PCPs offer a different level of performance, can be more fun and aren't as harsh to shoot.

Filling Benjamin Marauder w/ compressed air

We'll see. I've been deep into firearms for many years. I've long thought about an air rifle and just recently dipped my toes into it. I don't know if it will catch on for me, given my enthusiasm for firearms.

I enjoy pistols recreationally, but also stay on top of training and practice for defensive purposes. I also like precision long-range rifle shooting. Air rifles are fairly limited on distance. But so far it is fun.
I have come to think of outdoor pellet shooting as pretty much a scaled version of shooting PBs, and I like that - I can shoot my airguns fully legally in my suburban yard, and have a 55 yard lane to a safe backstop. To me, shooting pellets at that distance outdoors roughly equates to doing the same with rimfires out to at least 150 yards, and most centerfire at 250 - 500 yards or more, depending on ammo. Some might think my comparison yardages are off, but the point is real - pellets are scaled down from bullets in every way, and I like being able to get that challenge at home. Getting good at reading the conditions shooting pellets translates well, albeit with a few differences.

Crosman 622 trigger upgrade question

I have a Crosman 622 that I have been working on, I resealed it and made the modification to secure the barrel. The only thing I have left is to work on the trigger creep, it has to be the worst I have ever ran across. I did a search here on the trigger here but have come up with very little. Would anyone wish to share what they have done to modify the trigger assy.
This is my first post here as I now have time to flirt with the airguns and get away from firearms for a while and leave that to my son. I am retired from law enforcement and have turned the shop ( gunrepair) over to my son so I can play with other interesting things.
Interestingly, I'm working on one of those right now. I bought a sealing kit from a fellow on ebay, but it was a terrible disappointment. May I ask where you got yours?

HW/Weihrauch  Weihrauch HW 97K bi-pod mounting ideas?

Get a big leather rest or a rifle bag and a smooth cotton cloth (handkerchief) so the rifle can do what it wants to do. Bipod sounds like a horrible idea.

Accessories  WTS Kestrel 1000 Anemometer (Wind Speed Indicator)

Up for sale is a like new Kestrel 1000 that I used while training myself to sense wind speed for FT shooting. It’s in like new condition. Selling for $50.00 shipped in CONUS. Please PM me with any questions.

Description form Kestrel;
Here's the one that started it all! Measuring wind is a breeze with the Kestrel 1000 pocket wind meter. We developed the Kestrel 1000 Pocket Wind Meter in 1995 when NK’s co-founder, Richard Kellerman, needed a reliable wind meter for flying his glider. Over 15 years later, it looks a little slicker, and it gives you the wind information you can count on with a simple, reliable and accurate pocket wind meter. The Kestrel 1000 wind meter can easily be switched between mph, km/h, ft/min, m/s, knots and Beaufort.

What did you do airgun related today.

This looked interesting for them guys wanting one piece mount for like the bugbuster scope that the rings spacing is too long or whatever and ive run in to wishing the ring spacing was different a time or two.

Ill save this to my favorites just in case one day ....

I was using a lot of one piece and cantilever mounts but I've been replacing them and the rings on risers with the adjustable rings. Several guns are 11mm dovetail and I have been buying the CVLife 5-25x56 scopes with 34mm tubes. 11mm and 34mm is a less common ring. Westhunter has their adjustable 11mm in 34mm.

Much cleaner look and I like the Westhunter colors.

Quietest, and most accurate

Check out FX Royale line (IF you can find one). I have the walnut Royale 500 (.25). Classic styling, incredibly smooth & accurate, QUIET & LOW maintenance! Taken hundreds, if not thousands of squirrels & rabbits with it. Mentioning your budget might help narrow it down. I'm a PCP guy 100% but when going that route you must consider an air source. SCBA tank(s) and/or compressor should be taken into the equation. Hand pumps get old quickly & saps the joy of it. There are some great straight out of the box shooters that you might want to research. I own guns that don't require tweaking or fiddling for them to perform great (& I intend to keep it that way). You didn't state your location. There might be airgunners near you who'd let you try some out. A lot of us enjoy doing that.

What springer did you shoot today?

Greetings dormitionskete:
I have been shooting almost exclusively at 75-yards, from the shooting bags, and I set the scope for that distance at 24X. I don't need field of view for that set up as my target acquisition is within a 3x4 foot box. I basically set it and forget it.
Thanks. 35 yards is my limit. But I shoot exclusively .177 -- I've never even shot a .22 air gun -- and I have to be able to hit within 1/4" to make a good clean kill. I couldn't do that at 75 yards in my wildest dreams.

I got 5 chippers today despite being sick and not spending much time outside. What a day. That makes 76 for the year so far, not including other critters. I end up burying some almost every day because the cat can't eat them all, on top of what she's getting herself.

We have a point where they love to tease me b/c they know it's out of my range. 65 yards minimum. If you ever want to come to central Colorado and show them who's boss, that'd be keen.

Quietest, and most accurate

My HW100 is dead quiet so is my Taipan Vet 2 other then action noise. Girlfriend even comments how quiet both are. Dreamline Classic w/Tanto mod is very quiet also. All 3 are exceptionally accurate.

Forgot my .22 FX Crown .22 w/380mm barrel with Tanto mod is very quiet/accurate also.

Filling Benjamin Marauder w/ compressed air

If I want to fill a gun with it still on the rest I can just put my 15 lb CS2 on the bench and power it with a tool battery. It takes up less space than my Scott Air pack. It does take 3-5 minutes but I can be refilling magazines during that time. I still like my bottle but little air cooled compressors are a very viable option.
How loud is that?

What did you do airgun related today.

What's adjustable scope rings how do they work ?
Westhunter and Vector Optics make the ones I use.

A bolt holds the two halves together. You remove the bolt and the upper half slides out and can be raised higher.

OR

A couple screws hold the halves. Just loosen and raise up or down.
