Tuning  Umarex M1A1 Thompson Repair

Other than the bolt moving back and forth, the Airsoft M1A1 is not the same as the Umarex Co2 BB gun. I am going to have to take apart, at least partially, the Umarex lower to expose the bolt mechanism (very carefully) and hopefully have access to the spring/bolt mechanism and see what is what. It is after all a C02 BB gun and not a Swiss Watch or nuclear reactor. (Taking pictures as I go.)
While you’re in there, see if there’s any way to add a recoil buffer. Anything that might soften that bolt slamming against the receiver.

Cross eye dominant

Going to have a difficult time shooting left eye/right shoulder. Just went through this with a cadet in the police academy durring firearms instruction. May be better off getting a Notos with a reddot as it can be shot like a pistol. It is a pcp but you can air it up with a simple bicycle style high pressure pump, $50 Amazon ones works great. The small tank will make it easy to pump up. Plenty of shooters on here praising the accuracy of their Notos'.
Thanks, Joe.

HW/Weihrauch  Ok Weihrauch Airgunsmiths, I need some advice... HW35 Barrel Latch Worn

American Welding Society convention in Cleveland Ohio circa 1997 or 98, I personally watched a fellow run a TIG bead up the side of a # 4 sharp sewing needle.

I myself have TIG welded .023 aluminum in my early sharp eyed days, now I am lucky to get a 1/8" 7018 to start correctly........

FX  How to get to 850 fps on FX Dreamline and 0.25 / 25.39gr

I talked to him in text Saturday, he's got the idea now. When I last spoke to him he was at 110b At 810 up from 670

It's a 500mm dreamline .25 Just curious how it played out, he was just trying to reach 850/860 . His dreamline is fine, he had his lightbulb "Voila" moment.

new guy to airguns

OK folks, I have bit the bullet, or actually the pellet.
Stopped of at my LGS. Ordered a Benjamin Marauder, 22 cal, synthetic stock.
Stopped off at Amazon. An inexpensive compressor, a Vevor. and a spinning target to shoot at (G).
A small step for mankind, a big step for me!
*applause*
Good solid choices economically and equipment wise.

Now it gets expensive...

SC Johnson Paste Wax Discontinued!

Just found out Johnson Paste wax that I have used on the metal and wood of my guns for years has been discontinued. Such a great product stopped with no reason to the public. Not advertised for guns but one of the best gun finish protectants on there. Was sold in a big can at about $6 in stores. Now leftover cans going for $100 on EvilBay! WTF!!!o_O

Thanks for the friendly welcome and for sharing your expertise with me.
I think both rifles would probably handle the pellets well.
From what I've heard, the old valve system is more reliable. There seem to be more problems with the assisted valves, which were installed starting with Gen. 2.
However, the newer cocking lever is a plus for the P3.
Also, there's the better availability of spare parts.

N/A  The most shots per fill....

Ha that's a lot of shots per fill.

That might give me cricked neck though and I mean that seriously because it does that often when I have it cocked anywhere but straight on for a while. My son has his couch perpendicular to his TV and I have to sit weirdly angled so my neck doesn't get tweaked.
I rarely shoot more than 40-50 rounds. It started out just getting the gun regulated. The first iteration was the Dream Universal with the 25cc plenum and a noticeable improvement, reducing the regulated pressue down. Then the Max-ATH with the 50cc plenum and further reduction.

Then, because I'm an engineer, how far can we take this? 120cc plenum, heavy hammer, high flow valve, longer barrels, bigger bottles and FrankenGun is born.

Hatsan  BIG AIR PRECISION MAGS for the Flash

Just received the 12 shot prototype .22 mag from Tony at Big Air. It's awesome !!
It's designed like all his other mags... no spinning the plastic cover and loading the first pellet in backwards from the back. Just put the pellet in from the front and rotate to put the next in. Another great thing is, like all his mags, you don't have to empty the mag to top it back off with pellets. If you like single loading, no problem. Put a pellet in the mag and stick it in the breech.
And one of the best parts is the fit. Unlike the sloppy fit of the factory mags, this snaps in with a nice snug fit.
But wait, there's more... You might not know but the Hatsan mags also fit the Jet and Jet 2 and possibly others.. I only know first hand about the Jet.
Oh, and the mag goes in the left side of the breech and it has dots that you can see to indicate last 3 shots remaining.
Did I mention these are made and shipped from right here in the good old USA? So shipping to you from Kansas is quick, fast and in a hurry.
Not sure when they will be on the BIG AIR PRECISION website but you can always contact Tony... he's an awesome guy.

I think you can also get them in your favorite colors... even pink.... maybe.

AEA 8.72, anyone try them in a .177 TX200?

Ok, just finished testing multiple pellets. Each pellet was shot 5 times at 4 bulls at 10M off a sandbag rest. As you can see, my TX200 seems to like everything except the JSB 7.33 gr. The AEA 8.72 gr shot as well as the others, but the only thing I didn't like about them was that the head size seems to be a bit larger making it difficult to insert the pellet into the barrel. AEAs shot 779 fps and 11.8 fpe. FX 8.4 shot 809 fps at 12.3 fpe. Take your choice.

DNT Zulus V2 best price currently?

I found this place to be cheaper
I don't think they have the Zulus V2.

N/A  The most shots per fill....

Or 500+ from a .22 AirForce Talon firing H&N Baracuda Match 21.14gr

You gave me a idea with that bottle for the Western Mordax Venom I ordered. BTW this Mordax is another pcp I wanted for plinking or hunting but it'll be a 30-ish fpe 22 cal and probably not as precise as I have in mind for the gun I want to use that this thread is about.

NOE Bullet Molds, Al's Retiring

Just ordered one of them, so 1 less in stock! :)
Yea, I just called him. Wished him all the best. I was hoping he would be doing 1 more run, but they have already put all the machines to bed 😔
I was hoping he would be able to make a run of the .45 diablo style pellet. Unfortunately that design never made it into production. My only hope now is trying to snag one of Tom's designs. The only issue would be sourcing pins. Sad to see another US manufacturer closing shop, but such if life.
