GX CS4 compressor issue?

Pull the cover and check the line connectors. They attached with male to female crimp connectors. Could have come loss or wasn't crimped properly and a wire pulled out. One of mine wasn't crimped well due to the diode jumping positive and negative wires.
Volt meter would tell you wether or not there's power at any given point.

What springer did you shoot today?

And a HW30 .20.
I've got a brand new walnut HW30 in .20, scoped and ready to go. But it's 93 degrees with oppressive humidity. I'll try it in September, maybe October. Plus 11 other springers...I'm relegated to shooting pistols in my air-conditioned garage. Outdoor shooting is a seasonal sport in South Florida.

Other  Beginner 10m Air Pistol Men

Hi!

I’m new to the sport but would like to get started on the 10m air pistol. Just moved to the Kansas City area. I don’t think there’s an air pistol range around us.

Dreams of competing in the Olympics.

1. Where can I buy used air pistols? If I wanted to practice at home, is there a pistol that converts between air and electronic?
2. Where can I buy items to set up a home electronic range?
3. How do I look into competitions for mens 10m Air pistol?

Any and all advice would be welcome!
This book: Pistol Shooting The Olympic Disciplines. I can't recall where I got my copy but this is the only place I find it in stock:

I read about this system in the above book:

When you ask AI what are the most popular legit Olympic air pistols the Steyr and Morini come up. They aren't cheap but they are cheaper than a bass boat.

I am a hack so have several old school Single Stroke Pneumatics (SSP). They are good enough for me and my 9.3M range in the basement.

Daystate  Blackwolf owners discussion

Lets see. I have high expectations. When buying premium I want premium results if I do my part.

I`ve been beating around the bushes for a HP .177cal for some years. Which one...which one?.. The RW with Heliboard was my choice but I was reluctant in regards to electronics. But That I was willing to overlook. Then came the Blackwolf and then came the FX Leopard too. I wanted the BW with just 17" if it could shoot slugs. Some say they can. I could be tempted to buy an extra 28" slugbarrel and shorted it to 17" from chamber end. 28" barrel is long and I might get used to it and leave it with that.
Get a ghost with a 28” 177 barrel shoots great

FX  Newbie Caliber Question

Appreciate everyone's input. I was thinking about the 22 as being better due to the increase you get in optimal number of shots. When we go out we might take a solid 60 shots over a hunt. I think you can still make that happen in a .25 though. Anyone have suggestions on ammo?
Stay with the .25 for small game hunting with the JSB 25.39 gr Diabolo (the most accurate pellet I've found). I have thousands of rounds through my .25 caliber FX Wildcat shooting ground squirrels. I shot more than (400) pellets in one day this season. I have (6) eight shot rotary magazines for mine. I run through (48) pellets, then re-air from a 66 cu ft supply bottle. Takes 1-2 minutes to re-air. I get 800+ pellets from the supply tank. For hi-volume shooting this is the best set-up I've found. Best of luck on your decision.

Different types of Pellets

FWIW...my FX .25 Caliber Wildcat shoots the JSB 25.39 gr Diablo pellets the best (extremely accurate). I have over 7,000 pellets through it (almost all hunting), and have never changed. Does a number on Sage Rats (GS's). I've made shots to over a 100 yds numerous times with that set-up. I recall years ago AOA told me I could try a sample pack of pellets...but I'd end back up at that pellet. He was right!!

What did you do airgun related today.

Put a bunch of .25 FX 26gr hybrid slugs through the HM1000x. The results were okay.

Tried my always good H&N Barracuda 30.8gr. At the current settings it REALLY likes the Barracuda. 45 yards and hole in hole or almost hole in hole.

But dayam does that gun eat a lot of air. Glad I figured out how to fit a 1.1.1L bottle on the rifle.

RTI  RTI Transfer Port Screw - What Material?

What is the accepted material for the TP grub screw? There's one place on-line that sells them made of brass..but they say they are for the Priest and Prophet..which seems suspect since earlier Priest had a M6?? The one I have for my P1 is M7 and apparently steel..it's magnetic.

So should it be brass, steel, or possibly stainless?

Is there any reason the TP screw could not be 3D printed with one of the more durable materials? Or just machined from Delrin or ??

Having difficulty sourcing the 7mm grub screw size. I have found a few that are close and I could do machine work and threading to get the M7 size. Trying to make multiple screws with differing size TP holes. And would also like to experiment with TP shape..thinking that a cone shape would create a venturi effect to cause a higher velocity with less air.

Yeah..too much time on my hands. LOL.

Bipods/Rests  SOLD Predator Sniper Styx - $35 PPFF shipped CONUS ***SPF

I have a set of Predator Sniper Styx in great condition. These are the 3 leg version and include the optional sling. I got them a few years ago from someone getting out of the sport but I don't use them. From what I've seen online, they are considered to be very good shooting sticks although they don't appear to be made anymore.

The legs are 39" long tip to tip.

The SPREAD = parallax wheels comparison

Something I learned recently from Mike Nische the inventor of the Thomas Airgun.

this is his take on how to take some of the stress out of ranging past 40 yards-hope I explain this correctly: @thomasair

When you shoot Hunter class, you only need to hold in two places Past 44 yards

#1) determine if the target is greater than 48 yards and if it is, hold it for 52

#2) if it's less than 48 yards hold it 44.

I tried this today and the targets were dropping like flies

He recommends Testing this out for yourself by intentionally hold 2 yards off a known distance and see how or if your hit ratio decreases on the long shot

He was saying people develop a fear of ranging 2 yards off.

In the hunt class it is extremely common for people to blame all of their misses on Miss ranging for the long shots… But in reality it's just a wind call or maybe you didn't hold quite as still or something.
Is this particularly true for guns set at just under 20ft/lbs? I wonder if it would work for a 15ft/lbs springer - I might have to try and see!

notos and .177 akela

thanks, the akela is surprisingly accurate with a good amount of shots available after springs are cut per @EPG recommendation. i’ll have to try the nsa next time. i’m still wary of ordering nsa since this debacle

having to pick all these slivers off the slugs tips is no bueno.. this is from only one box of 300 slugs. 17.5gr from AOA.
I would order directly from NSA rather than AOA if you were to buy them.
