The $2000 dollar gun.

This post question is for the guys that own expensive airguns and anyone that just knows. If a man that is not rich was to have saved his money till he had $2000 , and was asking for advice , and even it's twice that much what air rifle would he buy , and oh yeah just for target shooting I can't kill animals anymore it's just not in my heart. Not competition either just a really nice well made dependable air rifle. What is the rifle you would have bought the first time if you knew.
Thanks for your advice.
OldVet - are you looking for a "black rifle" (ie short AR style) or are you a traditional walnut and steel bolt/lever action?

Tuning  BSF 55 disassembly help

Thank you gentlemen for the quick responses and to Joe with the lead to the UK airgunforum.

I finally was successful in the complete tear down of this model, woohoo! Now that its done I must say it is a rather simple airgun to tear down, biggest issue was not knowing proper procedure. Once inside I found a broken spring, with a bad double cant to itself along with an extreme case of dried up tar. Now it's time to order some new parts and a Lube tune.

This 55N is a beautiful rifle, much looking forward to shooting this gun!

Thanks once again gentlemen!
Cheers

FX  Newbie Caliber Question

Appreciate everyone's input. I was thinking about the 22 as being better due to the increase you get in optimal number of shots. When we go out we might take a solid 60 shots over a hunt. I think you can still make that happen in a .25 though. Anyone have suggestions on ammo?
Don't EVEN ask about ammo before you have gun in hand. Once you know EXACTLY what your equipment will be you can question other owners what works well in theirs. Even then, your mileage may vary. Such are the idiosyncrasies of airguns but without even knowing what you WILL be getting is a lost cause. Some guns will shoot just about everything OK others, not so much. You'll have to have gun in hand to find how finicky (or not) it will be.
"JimD" tried explaining this earlier in this thread.
