I've always loved the tactical look, and I bought the specific TTR-1 directly when it launched in FAC version. The rest is customized but all in the tactical theme, with a Tactical Vanquish and Tactical Chassis.

Especially love the quality and side bolt cocking and would love to see other brands develop a nice smooth bolt like caking system.

Bang for your buck Umarex is hitting on all cylinders with Notos and Zelos. Both made by Snowpeak in China and rebranded by Umarex in the US.

Personally, I'd go Zelos. Comes out of the box hitting hard. Notos needs a bit of help.

Zelos and Snowpeak M60b are virtually the same gun.

Notos and Snowpeak PP750 virtually the same.

Four brave shooters attended on a warm day with light steady breeze progressing to a bit hot 90 or so degrees and a strong, steady breeze, but not quite what I'd call a wind.

The course was set up as a nice 33.20 Troyer rating before modifications. One target had a bad day so 58 was the best possible score instead of our usual 60 shot match. The wind/breeze was a factor on some shots but not overly so.

Scotty had no peers and easily took 1st in Hunter PCP. Robert D. was challenged but reigned supreme in Hunter Piston! Jim C. said "I'm putting my springer back in the closet!"

Boerne Field Target Club shoots monthly on the Second Saturday of the month. We sport 10 wooded lanes with lots of shade and a friendly, small club atmosphere.

Fee is $20 per person, but first time shooters at the club are free.

Show time is 8:00 a.m. with safety talk and match start at 9:00 a.m.

We do a 60 shot match, so you get your money's worth!

Other than the prices, yes, none under $1,000 new.
Look in the classifieds to see the going prices used. Wildcat used would probably be your best bet for a FX bullpup. Generally a few for sale.

Then there is the complexity factor. More than a few threads with owners having issues with tuning their gun to their desired ammo.

FX, Daystate and a few other are the deep end of the PCP pool. Lots of adjustability but a fairly steep learning curve for the newbie.

Your price range might include a few new rifles, but there are plenty of used rifles as well. Just do your homework on the seller if here on AGN, or anywhere else for that matter.
Simplicity is always a good thing for the newbs. You may wish to look at a used FX Streamline or Crown, they are simple and easy to work on. The Streamline seems to be the basis for the Crown platform but may not have as many parts available now. The Crown, however, is still made and has a large following, so parts are likely available for some time.
Used Crowns can be had in your approximate price range too.
Of course, any and all other suggestions as above are worth investigating as well.

Air Venturi is coming out with their own version, I would check that out also. Whole package under $1k will get the carbine, hand pump, optics, pellets, rifle case, Patch Worm and a range bag to carry all your newly acquired accoutrements.

Always buy quality pellets. They will shoot better. Watch some reviews and make sure to buy that ammo. Most places have deals on pellets. Buy them in bulk, you are going to need them.

Good point. I have messed with firearm bullpups and the triggers were one thing that always turned me off. I had hoped that quality PCP airgun companies had done it better

Bobcat, if you can find one, is an amazing rifle. A little bigger than the usual bullpup. Incredibly accurate and simple mechanically. Wildcat is the current generation with more adjustments.

Good to hear you have your hw50s shooting well. My hw50s in .177 is my favorite spring gun. Just right in terms of size and weight, relative to power. I always get optimal accuracy when I tune to somewhere between 10fpe and 11fpe.

I have experienced a Cpl shutdowns with mine. Mine seemed to all be resistance related. If I open the valve on my scba too fast, even if the gx pressure is above the scba when I open the valve it will shut off the compressor. I built a one way valve inline so I could just open my scba valve up, start the gx and the one way valve would open when pressures equalized. It worked fine once and the the next time shut the compressor down when that one way opened up. Trash canned that valve and now just open manually slowly and it works fine. The auto shut off on these things is very sensitive/finicky in my experience.

Hey everybody, I have a dumb question. I don’t have access to a can of pellets at the moment, but does anybody know what the standard diameter and thickness of a can of JSB pellets are?
Apparently, nobody’s measured one online because it only comes up with Pellet sizes
I just wanna know a standard size can not the big ones
