Hatsan  Hatsan 95 trigger broken part?

It’s a common known issue , no one has had it happen more than Bedrock Bob. He shoots 3000 a week, from many Hatsans. He has had them all break. It’s a part that’s not needed if you know the original Quatro design with a bushing..
That being said I have a complete HATSAN Trigger unit laying here. wink😉
Not needed? Is there any way to point me on the direction regarding the bushing on the original design.

I suppose I should take this apart so I understand a bit more on the design.

Temperature and available light(edit) and scope mounts. Which affects your scope more?

While I've never experienced poi shift from my Sightrons, I do experience range shifts. This is mostly due to available light vs ambient temp. I have yet to let my scope bake in the sun, but also have the necessary equipment to keep it shaded during a match so don't see the need.

What scopes have less or more shift as a brand, and model than anyone would like to add here?

this temp shift affects ranging not POI
Available light has a greater effect on ranging than temp shift. Temp shift is there too, but more likely to move your poi as it's affecting the internal metals bits more than the lenses. At 16x you shouldn't see the same same amount of shift than at 50x. I've been using a sightron S8 and have noticed that temp has less influence than available light versus the S3. I am using it at 35x, and it's a chonker of a scope, which likely helps mitigate temp shift issues.

Also, why would you leave your gun in direct sunlight Dan? Don't you cover it with a towel/reflective wrap or keep it in a gun bag? I do everything I can to keep my rig at ambient temperature. This means using a thick bag and covering it with an umbrella if there is no shade available.

Cross eye dominant

Going to have a difficult time shooting left eye/right shoulder. Just went through this with a cadet in the police academy durring firearms instruction. May be better off getting a Notos with a reddot as it can be shot like a pistol. It is a pcp but you can air it up with a simple bicycle style high pressure pump, $50 Amazon ones works great. The small tank will make it easy to pump up. Plenty of shooters on here praising the accuracy of their Notos'.

Western Airguns  Western Airguns Mordax Venom

I haven't tested it myself. 30 FPE is what it tested at from the shop. What device would you recommend to test the FPE?
Do you own a chronograph? Once you establish the speed, there is a calculator online where you can enter the pellet weight, the speed, which will give you FPE

Now this is some great advertising! H&N

What's wrong with pellets? I find them to be the better option when there isn't much open range where quarters are tight. Think the colors need to be swapped IMHO.
There is nothing wrong with pellets. In fact I shoot them all the time. My favorit is the EunJin 16grain round/flatnose or the RWS 9,3grain Supermags WC. All .177cal. Pellets won`t be outdated yet.

Iowa Ag... good test, and I get where your going

Id like to see that test shot again, AFTER the guns have been setting in direct sunlight for an hour in 95 degree heat.....
temp shift affects a scopes ability to range consistently but generally not the guns POI

Chilling your tank before topping off

The early Slocum Gliders were very simple machines using compressed air to "blow" the ballast tank to begin their long glide back to the surface.

To ensure there was enough air volume at a high enough pressure to overcome the water pressure and completely empty the ballast tank after the Slocum had glided down to its desired max depth - the air cylinder was charged to the required pressure at a temperature of 50°F lower than the lowest ocean temperature that the Slocum would encounter.

Using this little trick, I chill my tank in a refrigerator before topping it off after a week's shooting.

I top off the chilled tank to 250 bar with the compressor and gain an additional bar or two as the tank warms to ambient instead of losing pressure as the tank cools down from the heat of compression.

Anywhere I can find HW30S synthetic in US?

Thanks, I really appreciate the advice. I was looking at Krale, but I hadn't heard anything about broker fees. Are these separate from taxes on orders above $800?

And I now have to ask the novice question: are dry fires not recommended? I was just watching a barrel cleaning video and the guy dry fired a few times to clear the oil out. Lots to learn here, glad I found the forum.

EaZy Trigger Fill for PCPs

Funny, I had a good visual of you dusting your stairs with the EZ. Gave me an idea.

Next time my wife asks me to help with the house work, I can see myself dusting off blinds and shades; Great White 9L in one hand and EZ Trigger with fill whip in the other.

The main downside is it scares my dogs, so they run to the far side of the house.

Anywhere I can find HW30S synthetic in US?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I’d love to grab a HW30S synthetic for my son. They seem to be discontinued in the US, but available in the UK. Can’t find any UK sellers willing to ship to US though.

Welcome to Airgun Nation! Quite the rabbit hole you have chosen. I can see another rifle in your future already! I must congratulate on your rifle choice for your son! The HW30/R7 are the same rifle and luckily they are in stock at Pyramyd.

Airguns of Arizona are out of stock on the HW30 also. No idea of when they are in stock again. I suggest looking at the Beeman R7. They are in stock at Pyramyd right now. It is the same rifle as the HW30 with a beech stock. It is actually cheaper than Krale or Mundilar once you take out the broker fees that people are getting charged for. Purchased from Pyramyd, you get a 30 day money back guarantee.

Purchase some H&N Field Target Trophy 8.64's .177 pellets and your son will be setup. They are good pellets that are always tight in the breech so no pellets will fall out of the breech and cause dry fires. Very important!

Have fun!

Bipods/Rests  WTS UTG TBNR U.S. MADE BIPOD - POOR MAN’S ACCUTAC?

U.S. made and a great option for bench rest shooting. Criticized for the legs drooping, an adjustment of the tension adjustment handle on the ball head was needed. No more drooping at 45 deg. Another criticism, was the metal feet. Bought set of rubber feet so much more resistant to slipping under load (compatible with Atlas feet). Pic mount but not QR - including small ratchet and socket to help with that process. I did bite the bullet on an Accutac, always wanted one and at 81, might not have the opportunity much longer. Only have one gun to attach it to and need to pay toward the new bipod so selling this one. HardAir Magazine did a recent test on the TBNR plus three others they rate highly for airgunners and you should read their opinions . Asking $150 shipped to CONUS. Prompt shipping. Venmo or PayPal.

Cross eye dominant

I'm new to air rifles. Had a Slavia 618 breakbarrel as a kid looong ago. Shot many handguns over the years, and the F-15's M61A1 20mm gun for 3+ years in Okinawa. Now retired, I'm interested in getting rid of some pesky squirrels.

Learning to shoot lefty is not an option due to a slight defect on my left retina, even though it is my dominant eye. And using a traditional scope is a one-eye process as well, which won't work for me. I need to use both eyes, ergo a red-dot. I became reasonably good with handguns using a red-dot sight and both eyes. However I've been told by some knowledgeable airgunners that gas ram and spring piston rifles will destroy a red-dot.

So I'm looking for suggestions, maybe some combinations, from you dedicated airgunners. The red-dot I have is a Holosun 403B. I want a quality rifle and was considering a breakbarrel Weihrauch. I'd also like something mid-sized that my grandson could learn. Not a big fan of the extra equipment required of PCP or CO2 but these damn squirrels may dictate otherwise. Thanks in advance for your input.
