AirMaks Arms  Katran standard 22 power question

I had a katran L bottle version which shot 25gr at 900b I believe the reg was at 125b. I don't think you should need more than 125b to shoot the 21gr at those speeds. That's kinda odd
This one is the standard (15" ish barrel) so a bit shorter than the L version. But I agree it still seems excessive. I own an Evol 15" and with around 155 bar reg I shoot the same slugs around 950 fps. I kind expected performance comparable to that.

Huben  GK1 .25 tuning for Altaros & JSB - charts and data

No time, no matter what tool you have to calculate holdover at distance when shooting at birds. It is instinct and experience with your gun. The GK1 is a pistol and with a pistol, field of view without magnification reins supreme. Scopes have no purpose on a pistol. Scopes limit the field of view and the sight picture takes far to long to acquire and the scope center mounts far too high away from barrel center to be viable at short distances..
And then there are the Red Dots. I am new to them, and just realized one can keep both eyes open and the Red Dot "superimposes" itself to your full natural field of view. Awesome!

What’s up with High Pressure Pneumatics?

I know a lot of people here have great things to say about HPP, so I made a purchase through them a couple weeks ago. There was a mistake on my order so I reached out to them via phone and left a voicemail at the shop number. Never heard anything back from them….. I waited seven days and then sent them an email with my issue. Still haven’t heard anything back. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they’re not impressing me thu far. I hate to leave a company a bad review, but at this point I am considering it. Is this just a fluke or has anybody else had a similar experience?

Snowpeak  Something magical happened today... M60B a sleeper?

@Kneepit That is crazy power, wow. Hopefully you can get the accuracy as well.
Hay max. Got it to be really accurate for my needs but I have a question for you, you seem to know quite a lot about this gun. I went ahead and bought the moderator from Wes and to be honest it isn’t all that great. I wonder, do you know the thread count on this thing (mine is the .35). I’ve read that the newer ones which mine is has the 1/2x20 but I tried one of my other silencers on it and no go. Any thing you know on this would be helpful. I reached out to Wes but it’s just crickets.

Airgun practice

I have over 150 targets spread out in the back of the property. I try to shoot several times a week. I also do a little pesting around the property. Lately, been going out at night with the thermal picking off mice. I only shoot at home. I would like to get involved with doing some pest control stuff too.

Huben  GK1 Pellet size

Anything that has a standard round nose will fit. The "common" weights and popular name brands all shoot well in the magazines. Both JSB and FX pellets in 34 grain with a medium power tune is good for one magazine of shots per fill, and the respective lighter 25 grain pellets can be tuned for two magazine's per fill (with pretty flat extreme spreads for accuracy).

Experimenting with the pointed pellets is asking for trouble, as they tend to jam.
I just got a .25 cal GK1. What are your thought on pellets, now that 6 months have passed?

FX  Just got back into PCP's after more than a decade break

Welcome back. If you are worried about sound grab a moderator. Low price and light, look at a buck rail 3d printed.

AirMaks Arms  Katran standard 22 power question

Hey all, so I'm tuning on a friend's katran standard in 22 cal with a tube and wanted to know if anyone can tell me a couple things. Im tuning it to shoot 21 grain javelin slugs, im currently sitting at 170 bar on the reg and im maxing out around 910 fps. Now, its shooting accurate, but shot count is not great at about 26-30 shots.

Now, I had been playing with it with 23 grain javelin and had the reg(on accident) at 200+ bar and at that was screaming the 23 grains at 970. I do not have a reg pressure tester, and since there's no gauge for the reg I am simply going off the speed starting to drop off which also goes in tandem with the shot sound.

Now with the 21 grain, it is following suit as when I drop the reg to 150 bar, speed falls to 880 or so. I really didn't think I'd have to push the reg that high to get the power up like that but it appears so.

Does this sound on par for power and shot count out of this platform? Would playing with the internal valve adjustment change much with power or efficiency? I own a katran compact in 22 so am pretty familiar with the platform, and in playing with power with that I could achieve 18 grain pellets at 865 with reg about 150 bar, so I guess I was expecting to be able to push more out of the standard with a few extra inches of barrel.
I had a katran L bottle version which shot 25gr at 900b I believe the reg was at 125b. I don't think you should need more than 125b to shoot the 21gr at those speeds. That's kinda odd
