Tim MacMurray AKA Mac1 Airgun CURRENT CONTACT INFO!!!!! (7-18-2025)

Yes ,he was injured, there were a lot of negative reports for sure, many people waiting a long time for their guns to be finished.First thing is to heal and be able to work. Personally, I would like to make sure he has caught up to his past obligations....if so, great.
You are a good advertisement for him; I never had a problem getting my parts from him either, but that was before all the negative stuff.
I hope others can reply about his business as of now. I think him and his buddy have done much to help our air gun community.

The SPREAD = parallax wheels comparison

Adding the Sightron S3 10-50x60
appears to be aprox 210-215? degree spread. This is also on a 6” wheel
Thanks @SAZ
Here are the numbers I got for the scopes I've used in Field Target, at 16x:
------------------------------------Degrees of parallax knob turn
Scope-----------------------------10-55 yards-------------40-55 yards

Sightron SIII 10-50x60 FT--------------225-----------------------13
Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50---------238-----------------------22
Immersive Optics 14x50-----------------75------------------------7

I think the degrees of spread for the 40-55 or 45-55 yard range is more important than the 10-55 yard range, since it is tougher to range longer distances.
While the Vortex looks on paper like it should be the winner, I get more repeatability with the Sightron, even though it doesn't focus in/out all that crisply.
The Immersive Optics prism is spectacular at crisply getting the focus. And it has a superbly wide field of view for fast target acquisition. But the knob range is so small, I can't judge repeatability. f they could gear the parallax knob to triple the turn range and increase magnification to 16x, it would likely be the winner.

Current scope?

I don't have a DRS but this scope would look amazing on one

Edit: I have 3 of these scopes and love them.
Here's one:

Gx filter is here

I would not hold pressure in the filter, as then you would be leaving moisture that has migrated to the bottom of the filter, in the system. The whole point of the filter is to both filter and seperate moisture. Leaving it in, would overload the moisture absorbing beads a lot quicker. I'm assuming that according to GX advertising, the beads could convievably last a year, leaving moisture in the system would certaily shorten that lifespan immeasurably.

FX  Leopard Tuning

You are going to need a chornograph to do any tuning, no way out of it. If you plan to use the Hades for pesting or hunting they do much better going fast, but you will give up some accuracy past about 50-60yds. I use mine at about 980-1050fps and they crush pests. On a 600mm barrel with the Leopard valving you will probably be good in the ~100Bar range. I wouldnt adjust anything from the factory/Utah settings though until you get a decent chronograph and have a solid understanding of how to tune a pcp.

Start here and watch the follow up video:

Holy cow, never tried Hades north of 960 since that’s where they started to get wonky for me, even out of 1:30 twist…

GX air filter

I think when you open the bottom of the filter, you are essentially draining the line back to the pump and the bottom of the filter at the same time. The burst of air should suck all the moisture from the pump over to the filter and out the vent.
Obviously, the line to the gun should have no moisture, .... in a perfect world.

New to HFT and looking for advice on Pellets

I don't know if this will help but I was reading it and it seems relevant. If not my mistake. Just trying to be helpful.

Detuning the Avenger

« Reply #10 on: March 29, 2021, 05:14:21 PM »

I found a way to detune the .22 Avenger to 680-700 FPS with 14.3 grain CPHP.

The Avenger manual (https://www.pyramydair.com/air-gunsresources/manuals/Air-Venturi-Avenger-air-rifle-manual.pdf) section which deals with adjusting the regulator states:
" Using a flathead screwdriver, rotate the adjustment screw clockwise until it stops
(Fig. 9a), then rotate one quarter turn counter-clockwise (Fig. 9b). This will reset
the regulator to a minimum setting."
After the one quarter turn I got a 1200-1400 PSI output pressure from the regulator.
I adjusted the regulator again but this time I did not do the one quarter turn, so the regulator adjustment screw was at zero (no turns).

These are the Avenger CPHP 14.3 grain velocities for different regulator output pressures (zero hammer spring turns):
800-1000 PSI, zero regulator screw turns, 680-700 FPS
1200-1400 PSI, one quarter counter-clockwise turn, 820-840 FPS
2400-2600 PSI (set from factory), don't know the number of turns, 950 FPS

Steyr  Steyr Pro X Version 2024 . looking for an advice

Thanks a lot for your reply.
A 3d-prited part on my beauty seems to be a ...Notlösung...whait... an expedient I don´t want to choose.
I think about a selfmade set of wooden butts and hooks with a quick change system. Sounds like a lot of fun.
@MartinGER picture of the final product ?

Have you found that “ One Airgun”?

TX200 tuned to 10.4 FPE .177 IF a Thief entered my home and said " you can keep one " this is the one i would choose . then the thief would smile and take it away . But i would still smile and turn to pick up my #1 TX200 .177 tuned and polished to exactly 10.4 FPE Knowing the thief only got # 2 choice .
