Looking for Pros and Cons on the Pard DS35 LRF and the DNT Zulus LRF

LRF is hard to beat with the low velocity of airguns, once it's calibrated correctly it's dead on. The magic we've always sought from a digital scope at an affordable price. I have a DNT 520R, I'd love to see the difference in the V2. I'm very happy with it, I have no experience with the Pard unfortunately. This is where I got mine from and it shipped from DNT. $100 less than buying directly from DNT. -10% with code PANDA10. I have zero affiliation with tac panda, I just found them when I was shopping for my DNT and it saved me $. If you're putting it on a rifle with no MOA built into the rail you may look into the 20moa mount. Not because you'll run out of adjustment, but because it'll put you LRF reticle way closer elevation wise to your main reticle.

N/A  On average, are PCP semi-autos more complex and less reliable than side lever?

Biggest mistake I ever made since joining the airgun bandwagon 25 years ago was purchasing my first and only semi-automatic 2 years ago. Got myself a new Evanix Cloud Ultra in .25. Bum rifle purchased from Bum dealer New England Airguns. Troubles started from day 1. Would eat up breech o-rings like a hungry beast. Trigger tripped the scale at 10+ lbs and after shooting 10-12 shots she'd go full auto. Tried to talk to the dealer to take it back, no dice. Even contacted Evanix and got the same answer. Stuck the POS in a bag and put it away. $1,800 thrown out the window. Will never buy an Evanix ever, and from New England Airguns much less! Never again...................................:mad:

Pellet BC List

Not sure what you're asking. On the software/ballistic apps I use, I enter the BC and it "knows what to do" with it. Some apps require additional info such as Density Altitude, temperature, winds, etc., but have some type of default is you don't input the data.
Hard Air lists the pellet/slug manufacturer, style of pellet, weight, and various other details.

GX CS4-I shutting off

I am having the shutoff problem with my CS4i also but not with a bottle, only filling my Ghost. GX responded quickly to my email to support. Gave me some things to try to see if it is the board or power supply. I need to shoot a bit more before the gun needs filling so I have not responded back to GX yet.

N50 at 100 “In The Rings” Slug Challenge

Don't be discouraged by anything you see on here. If you have a vision, and the ambition to see it through, i say make it happen. You never know, you may have several in your area who want to play, but you'll never find out unless you give it a go. Whether it comes together or not, have fun in the process.
I'm not worried about being discouraged. I and another shooter took New England from 2 field target clubs to six and now have our own League.

I've been in contact with local AG shooters who already shoot 100yd br solo and are chomping at the bit for an organized shoot. I'm not going to try promoting it to club pb shooters as I've already seen it fail with field target. If any are interested they can approach me. Thanks for the encouragement.

Taipan  Taipan Slash first tuning report.

I think it's a bit scummy to advertise a high-power airgun, and then lock the max power setting behind a paywall. Especially for an airgun in this price range. The high-power kit should've been included in the box.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for those range reviews. So far there is still only 1 video on youtube where someone actually shoots it.

I do understand where DonEnzone is coming from.

We've only had one video on Slash accuracy from Taipan/Balistas. He shot from a vice, the gun seemed fairly accurate in .25, but the .22 only got about 7-8 shots before the mag was empty and no more after that. It left me wanting more.... but it did not stop me from buying one... :) .

As far as a "paywall", my perspective is a little different. I think a paywall usually means we pay for something basic, but the really good stuff cost extra. We kind of get sucked in. We've all been there.

For me, the Slash already comes with the "good stuff". The basic Slash in .22 gets around 37-66 fpe, and the .25 gets 66-103 fpe. How much more power would we want or need from those calibers?

I view the Power Kit as something that most Slash owners probably wouldn't use except in special cases. But, this is just my perspective.

Tuning  General Operational and Math Question

Didn't they shoot the exhaust port on the Death Star?

I'm not sure what that terminology references on an airgun, either. None of my airguns have anything with that name, at least, not in the factory manuals. PCP's usually have something so you can release the air pressure without shooting, perhaps that's the reference. But it's usually called a pressure relief valve, or something like that.

I don't tune for specific energy levels. I mainly tune for "backyard safety" "noise" and then speed (up) if I can, but if accuracy tails off I stop. But all I do is pest.
Degassing port.

Rats Shoot Using my Artemis PP700

Thank you. Yes, this pistol is surprisingly accurate with the right pellets. Only negative is the single shot capacity and maybe a bit more power. Thanks for watching.
In a high intensity ratting situation like you showed, single loading is the only downside and why I ultimately moved away from the platform. But I do regret selling it because it was a deadly rig.

Tuning  General Operational and Math Question

I sure wish I knew where the Komplete was manufactured. If it was made by Hammerli in Germany with a Walther barrel I'd buy a Inspire Precision air cylinder and a .177 Komplete from Pyramid Air to test.

Would be interested in seeing if a $330 air rifle could compete competively in FT.

I made my own unit to use temporarily until the Inspire Precision unit gets here, hopefully by Friday. If you want to see some targets from a .22 Komplete, go here: https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=219436.20 They seem to shoot above their pay grade.

HW/Weihrauch  Stainless HW guys

I have
Blueing!
Because Stainless Weihrauch's in .20 are out of production at the moment.
If Weihrauch wants introduce .20 to the stainless line up, then I would be more likley to pull my wallet out! 😁
I have 5 stainless. One is a 97 .20 cal. blue lam. a favorite. Looks really good IMO.
I have a 80 that was my buddies, 8 yrs. old, not a mark on it. So it’s durable.
I do like blueing better.

I have a 30 cal. Ive shot hundreds of rounds through it. I probably tried too many different slugs and pellets and need to just work on one at a time. Jsb, zan, aea. I have had my best groups with aea 52.2 gr master slugs, I'm going back out to test it with 45gr pellets hopefully tomorrow or Monday. Then 50gr another day. I also have some 56 gr Zan pellets. My previous bench set up wasnt working the best, but now I got a new adjustable rear bag. I made it with a laboratory scissor jack from Amazon. I can easily line up my shots now, and focus on shooting, not messing with positioning the rifle. So far It's been great but I have got a ways to go

What diameter slugs? Only .30?

Tunged a Blonde Beech

Dang that looks amazing, nice job. What are you using for a UV source?
The Sun. lol

70-75F. afternoon when UV is higher. 45-1hr per side exposed to sunlight.
Above 80F. 30 min per side.

I discovered this with tung oil 8yrs ago when I sat some axe handles out on the back deck to dry. I noticed the side facing the sun hardened, so I rotated them and those axes have been used frequently ever since and when I clean them up, you would think I never used them! So, I did this to all my gunstocks.

N/A  Weihrauch HW97K Synthetic

The hw95 and hw97k are essentially the same powerplant in different wrappers. Same spring and piston, so very similar in power. The hw97k leans a bit towards FT shooting and target work due to its greater weight and under lever design. The hw95 leans a bit more towards being a field gun. Both can shoot FT or hunt quite well. I have taken many rabbits and ground squirrels with my hw97k in .177, but it does get heavy if you carry it around in the field for long periods of time. Go with .177 and good luck choosing.

New to HFT and looking for advice on Pellets

Great way to find out if HFT is for you, using gear you already have.
I started with .22 and had a lot of fun, but as you increase your scores the speed and sized disadvantage will creep in.
Using .22 your hold overs will be very similar to 12FPE WFTF...
