AEA  BinTac MCAR

I will see what I can do. I am kind of noob to all of this stuff. However, I do have the AEA 7000 psi compressor. Two of them actually. What I was thinking of doing is taking one with me when I go out in the woods when I go shooting. I generally just go out to shoot at paper targets and exploding targets in the middle of woods only accessible by a four wheel drive. I have had the rifle out maybe four times now and what ive done so far is filled it at home to 7000 and just hooked up buddy tank to it out in the field. I generally am only out for a couple of hours and bring a few other air rifles to shoot so I am not only shooting one rifle. What I have noticed is that when I get home after firing mabye four or five magazines worth of .510 caliber ammo with the MCAR, the pressure in the MCAR is down to around 3200 psi and my buddy tank is around the same. I am not sure if this is answering your question or not. It would great if there 7000 psi tanks available on the market for us normal folk!
SCOTT makes SCBA tanks 5.5 or rated at 5500 psi...That is the new standard in USA..So the fireman new tanks compressors and boosters are all good to 5500 psi...They been doing it a long time nothing new,,,,

That $13.91 fill probe comes to a total of $102.39, thank you very much

Is there an alternative source to Huma Air? In the US preferably...

I'm not having much luck.

Maybe I just need to be careful to not lose the one that I have for now
@Sleekstak
Would you be willing to share with us how that total was reached, please.
A line-by-line recap would be most educational.

Thanks

just my too curious

N/A  Webley Hurricane

Nice , wonderful condition for a gun this old . I hold the gun in my hand just like i was going to shoot , place the underside gun in hand against my upper leg and jack the barrel off to the outside of my leg .
Thanks Stan. That’s kinda the way I pinched myself. Crow
I love those guns! IMHO the Hurricane and Tempest "family" are true classics. Along with the FWB 65, those are two air pistols I'd never be without.

Interesting trivia: the alloy grip / frames for the Hurricane and Tempest were cast in molds that did two at a time, ingeniously trapping the steel cylinder inside. All are actually "born" as Hurricanes - a Tempest required the extra step of milling the rear "tail" off. The only other differences are the front barrel shroud casting, and name on the fore end sleeve.

Yours is a late production example. The nice wide trigger blade and slightly shorter front shroud give it away. The beautiful wood aftermarket grip is another plus - beautiful pistol!

The traditional way to cock one of these is show in this pic from the linked manual - hold it out in front of you, with the frame in one hand, and the other hand reversed so your thumb is near the muzzle. This makes efficient use of the muscles in your chest and both arms.

Thanks. I tried your method to jack this gem. Little wobbly at first but it works, I’ll adopt this. Crow

For what gun? Some fill probes will fit different gun manufacturers like Taipan and AGT share the same probe.
LOL, that would probably help wouldn't it? I was so dumbfounded by that checkout total that I totally forgot.

AGT U2

I already have multiple Taipan probes....so that's great news

Pellet Testing?

1) Do you clean the barrels between each brand of shot if you test with different brands?
Absolutely yes, different brands, different lead.
2) Do you clean them when testing with different weights?
If they're the same brand, no, different brands, yes.
3) Or do you fire 3 or 4 shot to foul the bore and then do the group test?
Absolutely yes, the barrel must be leaded.

RTI  .25 Mora and it’s first range trip

I got the shroud end cap off today. Heated it with a heat gun, inserted two punches, in opposing holes and the cap unscrewed VERY hard. There was no LocTite on the threads.

While I had the barrel off, I pushed a pellet through it and found a tight spot where the rear shroud end was clamped to the barrel. I loosened the clamp bolts, pushed another pellet through and there was still a tight spot. I was able to polish the tight spot out. Then I torqued the clamp down to 10” pounds. Pushed another pellet through and it was nice and smooth.

New to HFT and looking for advice on Pellets

Save yourself some frustration and invest in the Air Venturi .177 barrel conversion. (Out of stock right now but back real soon.)
Your trajectory will be a lot flatter. Get a tin of 10.3’s in either JSB, FX Air Arms. Set the reg pressure at about 110-120 bar. Adjust the hammer spring to where you’re getting about 900 fps (mine likes 920ish) and your zero at 30 yards. You’ll be smacking KZ’s from 10-55 yards before you know it.

Looking for Pros and Cons on the Pard DS35 LRF and the DNT Zulus LRF

Love my arken 520 lrf. Will range down to 7 yards great in the day an night ballistics I couldnt be without now 40y is the new 80y. Easy enough to get to grips with loads of youtube video on how to set them up. Yeah they obviously not the quality of like a 2k scope but value for money it's unreal bit a kit. Avent even the urge to buy the hik or even the v2 even tho it's upgraded I'm more than happy with what I got an doing everything I need it for

Pellet Testing?

No, I do not clean between each different pellet. When you clean your barrel you will likely not see your best accuracy/ precision return until you‘ve shot X number of pellets to “re-lead” your barrel. I just expect that when I switch pellets during my testing that it will take several shots of the new pellet before I see the best accuracy. It would be a good idea to test pellets made by the same manufacturer one after the other. I have found the different pellets made by the same company are likely to be the exact same as far as “leading in” is concerned. Hope you find this helpful,
Kenny

Taipan  Taipan Veteran Standard .25 cal

You're right. When I put it back together to try the trigger, it didn't work. So I loosened the screw on the rod and adjusted it just a tiny bit. Works good now. Triggers on these Taipan guns are amazing. I've shot a lot of air rifles, and I'd say these Taipan triggers are some of the best.
Before disassembling, put a mark on the barrel where the brackets are. When you put it together just line the brackets with your mark. I use silver marker it rubs off after easily.

Pellet Testing?

Ok I have been out of the air gun game for a while but have gotten back into it and have a question about testing pellets to find the best one your gun likes. The reason I ask if I have a XM1 Scout and a Notos that I trying to find a pellet combo that works the best so I can finally zero the scope for hunting season.
1) Do you clean your barrels between each brand of pellets if you are testing with different brands?
2) Do you clean when testing different weights?
3) Or do you shoot 3-4 pellets to foul the bore and then do your group testing?
Any thoughts or input on this would be great appreciated.
