It seems to me that there are more .25 cal. for sale than say .22. Not having owned a .25 cal. air rifle I am wondering why?
Phases and stages; nothing more.

Yes, On many PCP rifles, if the hammer is "not cocked", they will leak air through the poppet valve and through the barrel, the poppet valve is the main Valve that holds the air back from the barrel chamber, if the hammer is not cocked and resting on the poppet shaft, it might have enough spring tension to hold the Poppet valve open slightly, by cocking the hammer releases the tension on the Poppet shaft and allows the Valve to close allowing the air to be held back filling the guns air cylinder, you can then release the hammer manually by pulling the cocking mechanism back holding it while pulling the trigger and slowly moving the cocking mechanism back to the the closed breach position,Can you go into this thought a little deeper? Cock the P-3 then fill to 300B and then release hammer manually or dry fire? Does this just need to be done once for his gun or every time? Cool trick just trying to learn. Thank you.
The only one that has 14mm barrels or liners is TJ any twist you might needGot the vulcan 3 500. Would love to be able to change barrel length like other guns.agt don't just sell a barrel you got to buy the complete gun.Has anyone done this by using a different barreleven if you have to have it engineered to fit
Not many of us left who know about that handy feature.
So far I'm really liking my mighty chode. Just the ticket I needed for something scaled down to my Vet .25
Performance / build quality is beautiful. Not as refined as the Vet, but holds it's own (the AGT ping is for real). More than adequate power for what can be expected from such a small caliber.
The plan is to buy enough magazines to pre-load for sessions while zoning out doing something else. Loading in the woods is always more of a challenge (poor light) & those 177s are tiny in comparison. Between sausage fingers and my vision, droppage/ spillage is always a high risk and bummer. Id much rather pick up spilled pellets off of my living room floor carpet than out of forest duff.
I'm working on holding 3-6 card local matches. 3 relays in the morning, 3 in the afternoon. I was trying for this summer but I have to wait for September to gain membership at the club with the facilities to do so.I have no interest in the 1 card final 100y pretendrest matches.
Looks like Pyramyd is gonna take a step closer to a real match by having a 2 card final with bench rotation. I applaud that, but still a ways to go.

Nice shooting! Looks like lots of fun!I shot my Crosman 1701 S at 1/10th scale NRA Silhouette animals 10 chickens at 10 yds, 10 pigs at 12.5 yds, 10 turkeys at 15 yds and 10 Rams at 18 yds.
Results - 7/10 chickens, 8/10 pigs, 7/10 turkeys and 5/10 rams.
My animals are 1/4 inch thick and just about the limit for a 5 ft-lb pistol, but they go down and you don't have to chase them 10 feet to find them.

Good point. I'm gonna' tear it down for a better look. You got me wondering, so I just checked all mine with a good whack to try and break them open.
Years are 1956, '59, '68-69, late 70's, and a 1980. That's five HW35's and none broke open when tested.
Yours doesn't look like it's been overly used, so maybe there's rust or crud in the groove impeding a solid lock.
Yeah, it's the angle. The gun shoots straight. If anything, a little low, but certainly not high. There is visible wear on the face of the breech at the engagement point of the latch. The barrel in the op’s picture almost looks like the barrel is rising upwards as if it was set off prematurely. This could have damaged the lock. Or maybe it’s not the original barrel. I’m sure back then these were hand fitted. Switching barrels could cause this. Like stated earlier this gun looks as if it was not heavily used. Could be just the angle.View attachment 578436
