Pellet Groups at 100 yards

The NRA established two 100yd smallbore targets that have the 10-ring or X-ring @ 1moa or 1"...depending on the specific target being shot.

Essentially, that set the bar for competition shooting...many yrs ago. Now, groups are typically judged by MOA (measured center to center from the two furthest shots).

Pellets, being slow and draggy, tend to be very difficult to shoot into 1moa @100yds, esp with higher shot counts (3 vs 5 vs 10 shots, etc.).

It is also difficult to measure "one hole" groups (multiple shots), which is why many 100yd smallbore competitions feature 1-shot-per-target for score (this also helps with cheating, eliminating the need for moving backers).

If you want to compare with others, use MOA (or MILs, if you're metric). I usually just write mine down in my log (in inches v yardage, which is an easy conversion to MOA if I want) and just try to get better.

N/A  My biggest aggravation in PCP guns ..so far..

I only hunt with my airguns, so I too need 0 poi shifts. My two current guns are an airmaks katran compact and AAA Evol 15" both in .22 and they are solid as a rock. They get dinged and bumped constantly with 0 movement. My daystate huntsman was also rock solid as well as the jts airacuda. Imo anything with a barrel band needs to be attached to the airtube in a fixed position. My dads fx dreamline wandered all over the place, put the barrel band on and ended up doing what you were talking about, where it would rack and stay. Ultimately we epoxies the barrel band onto the airtube, problem solved.

I would say most air rifles these days have pretty solid barrel setups where they can take some banging around and hold zero.

Umarex  umarex Komplete converted to HPA???

Pyramyd just posted this video on a HPA conversion tank from Air Venturi to convert the Komplete. It's $99.

I was thinking though, if you wanted to do this on the cheap, couldn't you just drill and tap the end of a Nitro cartridge, and fit it with a foster fitting valve? What's that part called that would provide the foster fitting and one way valve into the cartridge?

EaZy Trigger Fill for PCPs

Thanks for the update Tommy
Only to 250 bar....hmmm
Nope...it stays in the box as a costly reminder not to buy gimmicks + i couldn't sell it in good conscious. I think it is junk
Hope the repairs hold out
Mike
Not only that but $150 is a lot of money for a problematic 1st generation device that is having frequent repair issues from our members.

I wonder if Brian is working on an updated more reliable EzAy fill 2 to replace the first generation. Even if so, I would not pay another $150.

I will report back on this thread once I get the replacement and see how it goes.

Honestly, for some owners like me, I didn’t use it above 250 BAR max fills. I personally can attest that my dive shop fill intervals were longer using the device. I could physically look at my GW tank pressure gauge and easily assess if I was conserving air based on 8-10, or more top off from 175 BAR as an example.

It makes sense if you only bleed once vs 8-10 times during a session that a user must be saving some air from which is in the hose.

But, I understand your frustration and only hope the new one works better.

I’m not holding my breath.

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

On that amazon page, the 4-16x50 is better for hunting than the 6-24, no? I already have a Athlon 6-24 but the pov is not suitable for hunting. That 4-16 looks good at $374
adjustable Parallax , 10 yards to infinity , Athlon Scopes , lifetime guarantee / Kansas City USA address

RTI  P3 bottle removal

I just received a new RTI P3 and I know the bottle can be removed without taking all the air out of it. Is there any trick to doing this? Do I have to do anything else first? I have the power plenums in I want to install them but I'm a little nervous about taking the bottle off. Last time I did it with my FX impact I had to send it back because the air just kept coming out. Thanks in advance

Scopes with center dots and suitable for hunting?

Thanks Jungleshooter. I prefer SFP, short range would be 15, Longest around 100. Ideally under 600 bucks.

Yes that reticle has a nice center dot and looks like it's illuminated which is even better.

I am looking at Midas 4-16X44
If it's a Midas TAC series then those are FFP.

That's completely opinion. I have guns I'm happy hitting an 8" gong at 100. It's for pure fun hearing the ding. I need SUB MOA for a benchrest gun. Big bore on deer a few MOA is accurate since you have a larger kill zone. We'd all love to have everything touching but that's simply not possible with everything.
