Yong Heng after piston replacement

lol
:) I am a large volume shooter and topping up 3 of these 14L bottles at a time of a work party.
The vibration meter battery died at about 68 hrs and occasionally coming up with some numbers ups and down, and can't care replacing it.
What is a total time on the compressor I don't know anymore, it works, and whenever the fill start slowing down I just replace the pistons right away and that is about ones a year at least. But I have four BNIB kits in my drawers for spares.
The last oil change I did last summer.
But I am watching the Temps very closely.
The Temp is a piston rings killer.

FX  Wildcat consistency problems

Well, the saga continues.
Today I tried pellets again, and the extreme spreads went from a low of 16fps for 6 shots, to over 100fps for 15 shots, most were in the 35-50 fps for es???

I'm really losing this battle. I have the hammer screw all the way in, and running it on 5, 6&7. with velocity in the 845fps for setting 5, 880fps for 6 and 900 for 7. I know it's not tuned, but my Impact was very tolerant of being de-tuned. It would be way off tune and shoot a string with an es of 4fps.

When I get time, I'm going to pull the liner and put a different one in. I have another liner for my Crown, that I know shoots very good. The liner in there now, when clean and I push a pellet through it, it is tight at the breech, then very loose in the middle, then of course the choke is tight. My Crown liner seems very consistent until you hit the choke, obviously. We shall see.

Also, next up is to remove the hammer and clean and make sure it's dry and not hanging up on anything.

I ordered a regular pellet probe, so we'll see what that does.

I checked the probe alignment, but a pin probe would seem to be more forgiving in that there is no hole to line up, you simply are ok if it is in far enough to seal on the barrel's breech oring, correct?

I will try the tune, when and if I can get the strange spreads below say 50-60 fps. With the wild spreads I'm getting, there doesn't seem to be much use in trying to tune. I mean, I've had two Impacts, a M3 and an M2 (X), and I had three or four Dreamlines, still have one, and I have a Crown, they are easy as all get out to tune. Heck most of the time, they shoot a bad tune well. Go firgure?

I'm using the standard 11.4gr hammer. HOWEVER, the previous owner had a Huma power tune hammer etc in the gun. I'm wondering if it has the extra power srping in it and that is simply overpowering the whole thing. Still it seems at minimum that it would still shoot more consistent that I'm seeing. I measured the spring and it is 56mm long, 1.4mm wire, 9.87 od and 6.96 id.

Has anyone had luck with the small carbon 98 ci bottles?

Hello,

I already have a 74 cubic ft Carbon tank but was looking to buy a 98 ci carbon bottle off eBay. It was manufactured 11/23. I'm not sure of the brand.

I have heard the small bottles tend to leak; it is allegedly good to 4500 psi (same as my 74 cubic ft one). Has anyone had luck with the small bottles? Thanks in advance!

A pressure vessel is a pressure vessel. Orings leak on all sizes. I haven't bought any chinesium bottles recently but I do have half a dozen way out of date 92 inch paintball tanks I put fill stations on and use as buddy bottles. Don't worry about most of the rumors and dogma you see in forums, much of it is essentially fuddlore.

Anyone else guilty of tracking a package you've SENT?

I've been kind of obvious that my 392 is in it's way to Mac1. When I shipped it yesterday, I got the tracking number.

I was able to wait until last night, then I started tracking ... watching it go from Akron to Cleveland, and now somewhere SW of Toledo.

I have a feeling I'm going to be doing this a few times a day, until the "delivered" status shows up early Friday afternoon.

Is it just me being so psyched about finally getting the steroid tune, or has anyone else done this?
I did because I knew crosman would jerk me around. They claimed they hadn't recieved it when I had proof it was in their hands for a month. All of a sudden they sent me a new gun with a quickness 😂

I was today years old, when I realized... (scope zeroing).

Zoom changes on a sfp scope do not change the point of impact. If you dial a sfp scope it isn't any different than dialing a ffp scope. The crosshair isn't effected, only the other parts of the reticle like mildots or other lines. Correct me if I'm wrong.
FOR EXAMPLE my disco with a vortex viper pst. If I shoot my close target at 68 yards, it's 2 moa at 3x, it's 12 moa at 10x and that is effected by the zoom you used when you zeroed. If you don't change zoom it's not a huge ordeal, but i have to because that stupid vortex is fixed parallax. It's personal preference, the precision and consistency I'm after combined with a wide ranging selection of bird perches makes 2fp untenable for me. My 1fp optics allow me to range-dial-shoot with no consideration for zoom and my read on wind tends to be more correct with 1fp. I know guys will justify their purchases, but hey I have an almost 800 dollar scope I hate on a 200 dollar gun I love, I have nothing to gain.

Rat kill video from last night.

Reminds me of me years back, hunting Ghogs w/ magnum hand cannons ( And I have wrist & elbow issues to remember that by. Wait,, you hunt what with what!! )
I have the power wheel on 14 with the JSB’s. I kept reading on best speeds and tunes and lots of people shooting in the 900 fps+ range. I’m gonna shoot it on minimum power wheel for $hits and giggles to see how it groups; it is accurate as heck out to 40 right now.

Element Helix?

I have several Arkens and have owned Athlons as well. just see so much about these Helix's.. The best glass for the price I have right now is the Discovery Ed PRS 5-25.. Super clear well built scope but it's not exactly small.
i have one of those too...it is decent glass but below like 18x, the dot is worthless.

Thinking about purchasing this oil water separator....is it a good option? is there a better value i should consider?

Hello, just trying to secure the majority of what i will need as I should soon be receiving my first air rifle. I'm not trying to disparage any company in this effort.

I will be receiving in addition to the 30 caliber gauntlet 2 rifle some projectiles and an air compressor and a dear friend made me a safe stop target holder.

I am considering this oil water separator (posted below). It has generally favorable reviews on Amazon...but honestly I know so little about this topic and I would imagine that sometimes the reviews might be biased. That said, the company Gx is known to me from their compressors and several posts on this forum.

The product is called Professional-Grade High Pressure PCP Air Compressor Filter with Pressure Maintaining Function- 5800PSI Oil/Water Separator, Magnetic or Screw Mounting,Dry Air Intake Filter for Paintball
Here's the link on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DX73QM4P/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A27SLSMOK7EK4X&psc=1

Not sure if it's a good value, it's a lot of money but i want to be safe an do the right thing..... or should i be considering something else? Specific product recommendations would sure be helpful.

Also, can one replace the components for the filters such as the beads etc. or are the internals propietary? It wasn't evident to me from the listing.

thank you for your help.
The GX is the best I’ve seen so far, very happy with mine

FWB  Feinwerkbau 150 - help needed

Looks like you did the replacement yourself. I’m going to do mine also. I have watched a couple videos and it looks pretty straight forward. This gun has seen little use. I can’t see replacing parts that do not need it. The spring and piston ring are still basically fresh. Any tips you can share with me? I see the two trigger screws seem to be the tough spot. Thank you.
Just did a count and have at least a dozen of the 150/300 series. Restored maybe half of them and don't recall running into any issues, but it's been a few years now since tearing into one. My suggestion for any airgun disassembly is to take lots of sharp photos from all angles as you progress. `

Unless there's an issue with the trigger bits, just leave them alone and only remove the housing rail that contains the trigger assembly.
Use a small butane torch, if you have to, on the screws holding the trigger housing. I do recall that they can be very tight, possibly some sort of loctite was used.

One tip, is to use a punch or screw driver to hold the end cap while removing the stud (see pic below). Makes things easier, if you're not using a spring compressor, especially during reassembly. Also, to watch for, is that I had at least one with a staked cocking lever bolt, which was kind of a pain. Had to get a sharp Dremel bit in there to remove a little metal before it would unscrew. I believe it was done at the factory, so hopefully yours isn't staked.

Lube or not to lube video

When I first got into serous shooting I would wash dry sort weigh measure and lube my pellets.
Then I started buying JSB and Air Arms pellets. It almost felt like I was wasting my time.
I am going to see if it makes any difference now. I feel like I am shooting at a level it might make a difference.
I like to buy four tins of pellets and mix them together.
I have a mini Mr coffeepot I use to wash them and a plastic strainer to rinse them off.
Then a heating pad to dry them. I’ll skip the weight and sizing part and just lube them. The scale I have is not that good and micrometer measurements are to time consuming and without a pellet sizer it is questionable.
I did get a new bottle of lube. Last bottle is ten years old.

AirMaks Arms  Airmak krait plenum leak

Verified leaking at both ends of the plenum how or what method did U use to identify the leaks? O-Ring 17x2 90NBR ? Did you apply some silicone lube?
Definitely the plenum. Yes loads of silicone lube it's like they to big an just cut up wen screwing in. It's even hard just to push in before you even start tightening up. He bought a seal kit maybe just order them seals on it own from somewhere else

FX  M4 Standard .30 Tune for fx hybrid 44.5 grain

You’re going to find that this question can’t be answered for you. Do you know the relationship between your Regulator, Macro, Micro and Valve? If you do you are all set. Each Airgun will have a slightly different tune it will like to be harmonic Depending on where you set it up. Elevation, temperature, humidity, attitude density, projectile speed, barrel twist rate - barrel length, etc. Hybrids can be particular to speed, a few FPS can mean quite the accuracy difference. Play with it for a bit and find your sweet spot. There are a couple videos on YouTube that have three different tuning approaches for FX impacts that you can explore. One by Utah Airguns, one by Airgun Channel and one by Viking Airgunner.
