Just got a tripod

16 is a good price for sure. I wasn’t too upset with the price I paid for a US made product. At least that’s what’s claimed. I don’t need it for shooting while hunting but for plinking in the back yard. I’m also hopeing to hang my pack from it and throw some netting around it as a blind.
If you hunt long range 150 plus yards a tri-pod can be your best friend,

HELIX OR TITAN ((Element scope) of course)

I have owned both, and the Titan is a beast of a scope but imo overpriced compared to what else is on the market. The Helix is a great mid range scope and I still have mine, the Titan is long gone. If money is no concern the Titan is certainly a better scope overall, or at least mine was. Better turrets and glass, but it was pretty heavy if that matters on your build. My Helix is the FFP 4-16x version and I dont plan to sell it, its a great matchup on my Impact.

But in 2025 there are too many other better cheaper options and I would not recommend an Element optic as of right now. Athlon or Arken have a pile of better models for better prices. I personally have several Arkens and really really like them for their turrets and glass quality while being very reasonably priced. I have a few Athlon now too that I really like as well.

Here is one that is often recommended by many competition guys, its a lot of scope for $350

Other models to look at would be the Athlon Helos BTR Gen 2 or Gen 3, and the Arken EPL4, EP5, EP7.
Thank you. I bought an athlon helos gen 2 and love it thus
far.

Balls seem to fit into weight ratings based on ball diameter. The screws push a plastic ring into the ball/bottom disk for tension. Avoid getting grease between those rings and the ball, you cant open it without damage.

I saw alot of metal shavings on the threads of the set screws so I broke those in by cleaning/regreasing/cycling/cleaning.

Announcing the Karma EQ Bullpup: Redefining the Power of Air!

I was trying to adjust my trigger again last night, it’s hopeless.
If I could just get rid of that 3/4 inch first stage travel while having
the gun cock. And yes I installed their “Lego block “ upgrade.
Bummer. Really wanted this gun to be good. Looked very promising and well priced. Brand new company and I’m guessing most of their R&D time was not spent on this model. That should have dawned on me. Also really shows the limits of the weight you can give YouTube reviews. None of the few people that have actually reviewed this bash the trigger yet everyone on the forums does.

favorite gun/cal for South Florida iguana hunting

It really depends on surroundings. Your asking for whisper quiet. That probably means of people near by.
.177 is great because the projectile dont go far after going through the target. The .22 on the other hand will go a long way. Take into consideration the environment your shooting in. Let that predict the weapon of choice.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 3 177 600mm Tuning

No worries :) hmm reducing plenum might help you to get down further but you’d need a pretty robust insert that can withstand the forces at work. I’d try to play with reg a bit more first, seems like you’re almost there. Maybe another 1/8 of a turn or a tiny bit more will do already… but I know, uragans are amazing guns but a pain to tune… on the bright side, once they’re tuned they’ll hold the tune forever.

Modifications to the Fx panthera 700

I was told once that if you’ve thought about something, chances are that someone has thought of the same thing, so sorry if it’s already been discussed. I own an FX panthera 700 in .30. I bought it last year, and I occasionally bring it out of its box, and handle it. Enough time had made me realize that this instrument could benefit from major modifications, and I’m wondering if they already exist. The first one I thought of is incorporating a sling mount from the pistol grip that travels up conforming to the instrument and positioning itself right next to the dial. Maye it could be sandwiched between the pistol grip and receiver like a washer, and have a thumb rest on the other side, maybe a cover to protect it the knob from sling friction? The second is the hand guard. It would be nice to have a custom hand guard that accommodates for whatever scope you use. Is there anyone out there that’s developed a shroud for the barrel that’s ridged as all hell. It would be cool as hell if a hand guard existed that was like that with a spur at a certain distance from the optic that ends right at the bottom of the optic for your thumb to mold into when you’re caring the instrument in both hands with the barrel facing down. Something maybe with a little recess. At the base of the spur so that both hands of a nice purchase on the instrument. If they designed that rail at the point with the three screw holes, and machined a piece that used that point, and went up and wrapped around the barrel, maybe you could sandwhich a titanium tube and combine it with interlocking carbon fiber for a handguard. Maybe engineer the carbon fiber hand guard to interlock with each other so they slide in? You could add another contact point on the side of the rail, and have both sling mounts inlune with each other? Is there anything like this? Curious to know.
